Has anyone tried Windows 7 and what do you think of it. We all know Vista was crap but what about Windows 7.

Windows Seven? I haven't heard anything about a new Microsoft interface program coming out. News to me.

Really Kole? Wow, you're behind the times! XD

Windows 7 has been out since when, October/Novemberish?

I know nothing about it though -- I'm a Mac user.

I heard that the problems with user security and slowness that were in Vista have been resolved. But I havent actually been able to work with it. The people that had the beta version were happy with it.

I was talking with a Customer today about Windows 7.
I'm now a Mac user so I obviously don't have it, but I'm well versed in XP. Vista my brother has.. but I never use his computer so I'm not certain how well it works, though I had heard horror stories.

The customer had just gotten the new computer /system and was picking up a book to learn how to work it (I work in Book store). Anyhow, he says it's really different from both and that it's more user friendly.. but I have my doubts on that (In my opinion Windows is NEVER user friendly)

I keep on hearing mixed opinions from people too, from some I've heard that it has quite a bit of problems like vista however from others I hear that there's quite an improvement from vista..

*Le sigh* I too am wary of trying out Windows, I like my XP a lot but when I think about it.. why can't they make a new OS that is as reliable as Windows 98. Unfortunately with new direct X11 video cards coming out I guess I'll be pushed towards 7 soon enough.. At least from what I've heard when it comes to gaming, it's a lot better to game on 7 than vista.. but then again I pity anyone who actually tried to actually game serious on Vista

Am I the only person in the world who has no issues with Vista and prefers it to XP?

My Mum plays CS every night on Vista she doesn't have any problems gaming with it and I play games occasionally on it.

I have a windows 7 disc I just need to upgrade my computer before I put it on. My Mum's friend beta tested it and he didn't have any issues, it's the only one he's put on all three of his computers.

Fixed that for ya. Calling any pre-NTFS operating system "reliable" is almost a joke. Particularly Win 98, since it was prone to simply self destructing for no reason. People only remember it so fondly because it was followed by Windows ME, which was quite literally terrible.

XP had the same number of detractors when it first came out, but Vista made it look like such a pleasant alternative that everyone became XP fanboys and Microsoft ended up extending support for the product WAY past the normal ending date.

Yes Windows 98 was not a very stable product. XP has been good to me. I havent really had any problems with it. But I work supporting a software product that gets networked alot and have nothing good to say about Vista. It is putz. Not network friendly at all. A lot of techs havent been able to do much with it. They dont understand the UAC controls in Vista. Which pretty much prevents you from doing much of anything.
