you should listen to Ludo- love me dead it's more punk rock. lets see there's dune- star child this is happy hardcore. hmmm i can't think of any other rock bands or singers that you wouldn't hear on the radio. well tell me if you like ludo and dune.

What are some bands you already like? I recommend the Arcade Fire and Passion Pit. Also, have you tried pandora.com? You put in a favorite band or song and it comes up with other ones you might like. It's very accurate. I'm going to guess you like Death Cab For Cutie from your name. Have you listened to Postal Service? It has the same lead singer, but it's a little different.

hmm if you like progressive rock then you just might like the band 'Lush' I am really into a lot of their songs and in particular I think you should listen to "Deluxe" because it's just an amazing song
