The empire capitol stood quiet. Then the ground began to rumble. THUD. THUD. THUD. Suddenly, a huge mech appeared at the gates. "Ava, I'm comeing" Shaun said to himself. He too Rex's cutting torch and cut down the defensive wall. Empire troops scambled. Shaun spotted three mechs. He took them out one by one with a sigle shot from his rail gun.

A large shake hit through the chamber. The intercom went off telling them all to return to their stations. The man looked down at Ava who just looked back up at him, smirking. "They attacking here" Ava told him. Finally giving him the information he needed. The man lost it, pulling out his gun and pulling the trigger. Shooting her right in the shoulder. He then left the room. Leaving Ava by herself.

Shaun went on a rampage. Fireing his weapons at all enemy units. He picked up renforcements 100 miles away. He fired one of the nuclear missiles, and in a bright flash, they were vaporized. Shaun arrived at the detention building where he cut a hole in the roof. A rescue squad emerged from a chamber in the Rex and freed all the prisoners, bringing them back into the Rex. Ava was put on a stretcher as she boarded the Rex. The Rex then took off into the sky, rockets fireing from feet. Shaun was able to get away just as the Ion partical cannon vaporized the empire capitol.

As the roof bursted open, Ava watched as union troops started to take everyone out. Her being last because they had to be very careful. Her eyes widened as she saw the Rex. The union's glory mech. Still, she found herself unable to stay awake, and fell asleep as she was inside.

Shaun landed the Rex at HQ. Ava was rushed to the medical room. Her wounds were treated, and she was given time to rest. Shaun sat next to her the whole time, not even bothering to sleep.

General Strafe's next assignment had been to assist in the direct attack of the Union Headquarters. The platoon of new mechs he was given had the self-repair nanotechnology that they had stolen from a Union facility. They also had stealth capabilities and were able to penetrate enemy defenses unseen. They hit the Union forces hard and were able to capture some of the elite soldiers. The Empire mechs then returned back to the capitol to deliver the enemy soldiers in for questioning. While the captives were being interrogated, Ulric's troop were assigned to guard the Empire Central Headquarters. For a while, there hadn't been any activity and all seemed well. Suddenly, alarm systems went off as a huge mech began approaching the capitol and all Empire soldiers were mobilized immediately. Shots were fired at the Union behemoth as it burned through the defensive wall but only an insignificant amount of damage had been done to it. Soon it began firing all weapons, taking out each mech one by one. The general's white mech weaved through the firestorm and managed to get close enough to the head of the giant mech but was shot down before he could take it out. The last thing the dying Ulric saw was the flashing red of the emergency system and the explosive end of Empire reinforcements.

Ava started to stir. She could not move very much due to her entire form being covered with wraps. She tried to get up, unsure of what was going on, but the pain spiked in her shoulder. Shaun came into her view. "Are the men alright?" Ava asked weakly.

"The men are fine. No casulties." Shaun leaned in closer to Ava. "I guess this makes us even in the life saveing department." He kissed her on the cheek.

]Ava smiled. She was glad only she was harmed. "That is a huge relief." She told him. Relaxing into the bed more.

Shaun sat back. "You had me worried. That's twice now were I've thought I lost you."

"I'm sorry Shaun" Ava said reaching up and taking his hand. "If it helps, I pissed my tormentor off."

Shaun smiled. "I can't say I'm surprised. You always did have a strong will."

Ava closed her eyes. She felt very at ease with Shaun next to her. Watching over her like an angel. "What is the damage by the way?" Ava asked him. Knowing he would have spoken with the doctor.

"Just some blood lose and a bullet wound in the shoulder. You should be cleared within a few days." Shaun kissed Ava on the lips. "I have to fie my report. I'l be back to check on you later. Get some rest ok?"

"Okay Shaun" She told him, then remembered something she had done a few days ago. "Check my room, I got you a little something a few days ago while you were recovering." She had really just re-filled his flask. Going down to the close bar and bought the expensive stuff for him. Ava felt he needed it.

Shaun went to his room where he found his flask. It was fllled up. He took a drink. "Ahh, barrel aged." Shaun was glad to have Ava in his life.

Ava fell asleep after Shaun left. She was woken up to be given medicine, and to be questioned. Usually torture cases were mentally damaged after ward. They were surprised Ava was showing no signs just yet. They let her go back to sleep though. She slept peacefully, not even moving much as she would normally.

Shaun filled out his report. He turned it in and went back to sitting by Ava's side. He could not bring himself to leave her.

Ava woke up again. Hearing her door open. "Welcome back Darling" Ava sat up a bit, leaning her back against her pillows. "How did your report go? They were just in here a little while ago asking me questions." Ava told him.

"The report went great. High command was glad at how well the Rex was utilized." Shaun sat by her side, and ahanded her his flask. "How are you feeling?"

She gave the flask a small shake. Finding a good amount was already missing. She opened it and took a small sip before handing it back to Shaun. "Not going to lie. Everything hurts now that I am fully awake." She told him.

"You'll heal up fast. Your probably the toughest member of my squad." Shaun took Ava by the hand. "I love you Ava."

"I love you too Shaun. You know, while I was being.. well you know. All I could think of was you." She told him. Squeezing his hand. "..I was so scared.." She admitted to him.

Shaun gently placed his hand on Ava's face. "You were the only thing I was thinking about on the rescue mission" Shaun kissed Ava deeply.

Ava kissed him back. Wrapping her arms around his neck.
