Ruby looked at the writing.
"It's Angelic Writing.....and it's some kind of warning. On top of that, it's recently been written, hence the bleeding" she said.

"What does it say?" Yugi asked.

"Let me see....it says, 'you cannot dodge inevitable' meaning......oh my" ruby said and clasped her mouth. "No, it can't be."

Chills ran down Yugi's spine. "We won't be able to stop her getting killed...." he whispered.

"Looks like that they were serious when they wanted her to save the whole world and her death was part of it. I wonder why's that a warning?" Ruby wondered and read out the last part of the warning: "If you interfere, you will be severally punished."

"I don't think I don't want to know how severly." Selena said. She looked to Yugi. "You sure you want to keep preventing Ashleigh's death?"

Yugi shrugged a bit. "I...don't know. But I still have every intention to protect her with my life."

Ruby nodded.
"Now, if you excuse me, I have to head back to HQ for the last two days. I have to keep an eye on Aki. Crow, I left a list for you to teach the twins. It's best to start teaching now to gain experiance" she said.

Crow nodded. "Right," he replied.

"We'll probably be back tomorrow too," Yugi replied. "Once we're sure this spell is going to work."

Ruby nodded.
"Tomorrow is when I will take the protection spell of Yusei's body and changing the cloth. The only person I can let in is Aki to say her final goodbye" she said, "but the message really bugs me though. Why did they carved it on Ashleigh's legs?"

"Why not the rest of us?" Crow asked. "We're Yusei's friends too, you know."

Yusei was staring at his right arm. It was still bare; his birthmark hadn't returned. "Why aren't I a Signer...?" he asked absently. "I thought I was born one...."

"After the protection spell is off, that's when people can offically can say their goodbyes" Ruby said, "Aki asked me to see him before she got sick."

'You must be ready to face your demons before your mark returns Yusei' the voice said.

"I see," Crow replied. "How's she doing now, by the way?"

Yusei looked up. "Who's there?" He asked.

"Who're you talking to?" Rikuo asked, coming around the corner. "Geez, looks like getting killed fried your brain."

"Don't ask me. Ask Selena" Ruby replied.

'There's your first "demon" Yusei. Deal with that and the other demons will be easier to defeat' the voice said, 'Good luck.'

"She's doing fine," Selena replied. "The 24 hour bug is gone."

Crow smiled. "That's good," he said.

How is Rikuo one of my demons? Yusei thought. "What're you doing here?" He asked.

"I've got a few questions," Rikuo said. "And I just wanted to be able to ask them where Mom and Dad wouldn't be able to butt in."

"I go and see her now and let her know that she can see him tomorrow before I reverse the spell" Ruby said then stood up.
"You better keep the cuts covered. We don't know if the cuts are going to stay carved or going to heal. And they're bleeding again." Then she walked out of the room.

'You will find out for yourself' the voice said.

"Right," Yugi said with a nod, then cleaned the wounds again before using a healing spell on them.

"What did you want to ask?" Yusei asked.

"Oh, not much." Rikuo said. "Just stuff like 'Why didn't I live?' and 'Why're you the Signer' and 'How the hell you pulled the sword out of that damned rock?'."

No matter how many times Yugi tried to heal the cuts, they refused not to close, and the blood was not Ashleigh's blood at all.
It was black.

'Be strong Yusei and don't let your guard down.'

Yugi sighed and lt his hands fall. "This isn't working..."

"Why do you think she's bleeding black?" Selena asked.

Yugi shook his head. "I don't know," he replied.

"Rikuo, I--" Yusei began, but he was cut off.

"You think I've had it good here?!" Rikuo said sharply. "I didn't even get to take my first breath! I was dead before I was born! It isn't fair that me, the older twin, died! I should be alive too!"

"Rikuo! You're not thinking straight! Calm down!" Yusei said, standing up. "I had nothing to do with that! You know that as well as I do!"

"Then hell I'm not thinking straight!" Rikuo shouted. "My brain's working perfectly fine, Yusei. It isn't fair. None of this crap is fair! I'm dead, and I have been since before I was born! Hell, before either of us were born I was dead! You're a Signer; you've managed to pull the Crimson Sword out of the damn rock! You're the one with the power to become a mage!"

"Rikuo, no--" Yusei started, but he was cut off when Rikuo tackled him, and had a butterfly knife in his hand. "Are you insane?!"

"No, just pissed off." Rikuo replied. "It may not be possible to kill someone who's already dead, but that won't stop me!" He stabbed the knife at Yusei's face, again and again. Each time Yusei dodged, until Rikuo pinned him and grabbed his neck to keep his head still.

Yusei couldn't breathe. "Ri...ku...o....." He whispered.

Rikuo held his knife aloft. "Damn it! Die here!" Yusei squeezed his eyes shut, but he never felt the blade so much as pierce his skin. Instead, he felt something warm and wet drip onto his face. He carefully opened one eye....and then both went wide.

It took Yusei a moment to realize that the pressure on his throat had lessened, but that's not what shocked him. What had shocked him was the fact that Rikuo was crying. Tears were flowing down his cheeks, and his arm with the butterfly knife was trembling. "Wh-why...." He said through the sobs. "Why....why did I have to be the one to die?"

"Rikuo...." Yusei said. Right now he was seeing what was underneath his would-be-twin's hatred and anger and jealousy. He was...sad. More like depressed, really.

Rikuo sat back and let Yusei up. "Damn it...crying like a baby..." He grumbled, rubbing his arm across his face to wipe the tears away. "I probably look really stupid right now..."

"Yeah, you do." Yusei replied, sitting up. Rikuo glared at him.

"Thanks," Rikuo muttered.

Yusei put a hand on Rikuo's shoulder. "If it's any consolation...I sort of think you're the lucky one instead." He said.

Rikuo looked at him blankly. "Why?" He asked.

Yusei looked to the ground. "You got to grow up with our parents. I never knew them. Zero Reverse happened the day I was born--the day you were supposed to have been born as well." He said. "Think of it; if we'd both lived, neither of us would have known our parents. We'd have both been orphans."

"Wait...you've been jealous of me?" Rikuo asked in disbelief. He scratched the back of his neck. "And here I was, thinking you'd been pretty much pampered." He looked to Yusei. "Hey, bro...what's life in the Satillite like?"

Yusei laughed. "Before or after Jack, Crow and I beat Goodwin?"

'You have defeated your first demon-jealously. But you have a long way to go Yusei, and you need your brother's help' the voice said, 'you both have the same demons to face' the voice said, but this time, it also echoed though Rikuo's head.

Just then, Yana entered the room and seeing her mum bleeding black blood, and her dad still looking uneasy from getting told that an unmarried man has to kiss his wife, made her confused.
"What happened here dad?" she asked.

Rikuo looked around. "What was that?" He asked.

"Same question I've got." Yusei replied.

"It's...complicated." Yugi said. He started bandaging Ashleigh's legs. "I had to use the death spell to prevent Kaimiri from going after her again...but now she's in a coma...and I just found out that no matter what we do she'll end up dead anyway."

Yana stood there shocked.
"You kidding me right?" she asked.

---

'You find out when the time comes' the voice said, 'Right now you better prepare yourselves because here they come.' Sure enough, the remainder of the demons rushed as different forms.

Yugi shook his head. "I wish I was," he replied.

---

"Damn," Rikuo said, standing. Yusei did the same. "What the hell are those things?!"

Yusei didn't answer. Are they...what's been hiding in my heart? He thought.

"But....mum can't die! She just can't" Yana said, then burst out crying.

---

'You must fight them to order to return Yusei. As for you Rikuo, if you do the same, you will be rewarded' the voice said.

Yugi finished bandaging the wounds then went over to Yana. "I know," He said, letting her cry into his shoulder. "I know....."

---

"What the heck is that guy and when'll he give some actuall answers?!" Rikuo asked.

"I don't think that's the most of our problems," Yusei said, pulling the pendant off and summoning the sword. "Brace yourself..."

That day passed on and the group (except Yugi who changed his mind and didn't want to leave the girl's side just in case of an attack) was back at the federation. Ruby passed the message onto the others at a meeting.
"That means, we can't stop Ashleigh dying" Ruby said, and that's not the end of it. Ashleigh is in the moment, is in a coma and the only way she can wake up is by Yusei kissing her."
