"I know," Melhana said. "I worked these so that as someone's life force decreases, the colder everyone's dogtags get."

"And cuts out when the person has passed on right?" Atem asked.

Melhana nodded. "They go icy when someone dies, yes." She replied.

"Ashleigh, it's me, Yugi!" The voice said. "What's happened?"

"I was meaning that when they die on his plane" Atem said, facepalming.

'Huh? All I did was letting go' Ashleigh replied, confused, 'And I thought you were with the others.'

Melhana nodded. "I didn't think it would work if the person was on another plane though." She said.

---

"I am...er, was...this is going to be hard to explain." Yugi replied. "You're in a different timeline right now."

"That is weird. Her actual body is still here, heartless" Atem said.

Ashleigh opened her eyes to see Yugi standing there. His hair was pulled back to a short ponytail. His outfit was in many shades of green with silver trimmings. He also looked older.
"You got to be kidding me" she said, getting up on her knees.

"I know, that's what's strange." Melhana said. "And her dogtags are with her body."

Yugi shook his head. "I'm not." He replied. "Ashleigh, I don't get it. Why'd you die?"

"Maybe we have a special connection with her or something like that" Atem replied.

"I don't know. I couldn't hold on much longer" Ashleigh replied.

"You might be right about that..." Melhana replied thoughtfully.

---

Yugi stepped over to her and put his hands on her shoulders. "But, how? This wasn't supposed to happen." He shook his head. "This...isn't how I remember this...."

Then they heard a shreak from Yana's hospital room. The pair looked at each other and ran.
"Yugi must have felt it too" Atem said.

"All I remember that I collasped and heard bits and peices of dark energy and detox" Ashleigh replied, "That is when I let go and I have no way of returning back."

Melhana nodded. "No doubt," she said. "He's got the closest bond to her of all of us."

"You do have a way back, you just can't see it." Yugi said. He took his hand from her shoulder and summoned some of his power. A white gleam of light shone in the center of the dark green orb. "This has a piece of my life force in it, and the magic surrounding it is a type of shield for it."

"We have to hurry" Atem said, "goodness if we actually loose Ashleigh for good this time."

Ashleigh looked at the orb, then back at Yugi.
"And what does that have to do with me getting back?" she asked.

"I hope we don't," Melhana said. "I don't know what would happen if we did."

---

"It'll help show you the path back to your life," Yugi replied. "As for the piece of my life force...I can tell yours is too weak to get back without help, so I'm giving you a bit of a push."

The two entered the room seeing Yugi huddled in one of the corners.
"Oh boy, he's gone emo again" Atem sighed.

Ashleigh gave Yugi a hug.
"Thank you" she said, "what would I do without you?"

Melhana sighed. "Should you cheer him up, or should I?" She asked.

---

"You'd find a way to survive, I know you would." Yugi replied. He hugged back. "I wouldn't have married you if you were any weaker."

"You can" Atem replied, "I'm staying out of this one."

---

"I know" Ashleigh replied, "but I wish there was a way to believe that I am strong."

"You beat Kaimiri." Yugi said. "You kept the gang together while we were all off at different colleges. You are strong."

"Wish me luck." Melhana said. She walked up to Yugi and knelt next to him. "Yugi? You all right in there?" He didn't respond, just kept staring out into space. Melhana waved her hand in front of his face. She looked to Atem. "You think we should get Selena to snap him out of it?"

Atem walked over and examined Yugi.
"He's waiting for her to come back" he replied, "it's like he knows that she's going to return to the angel plane."

Ashleigh nodded as tears sprung to her eyes.
"I wish you were with me in the angel planes with me" she said.

"Still doesn't stop it from being creepy." She said.

---

"I do too, but it's not time for me to meet my destiny yet." Yugi replied. "Now, are you ready to get back?"

"I know" Atem replied.

---

Ashleigh nodded and broke the hug. She took the sphere.
"What am I supp-' she started to say. Then a pair of emerald wings (the colour of Yugi's aura) sprouted form her back.

"My magic will be in you for the amount of time it takes to return to your body in the angelic plane," Yugi said. "After that it'll fade. But for now, you should have the power you need to return."

"Maybe spraying him with cold water will snap him out of it?" Melhana suggested.

"Again, I'm not going to be part of this" Atem replied.

Ashleigh nodded and flew up into the space above you.
"Thank you Yugi" she called.

Yugi nodded. "I'll be waiting," He said, before dissapearing.

"Says the guy who shared a body with him for a year and a half," Melhana muttered.

Ashleigh flew even higher to reach the light.
Hang on everyone, I'm coming back she thought. On the outside surface, the angel gasped for air before breathing normally.

"Hey, do you feel that?" Atem asked as the tags gone from ice cold to stone cold, "something's happening."

Melhana nodded. "Yeah, I feel it." She said. She grinned. "Ashleigh's coming back."

The doctor looked around fast enough to make the bones in his neck pop. "Get the oxygen mask! Now!" He shouted. "She's coming back!"
