Meiko turned and looked at her partner. She then looked turned and looked out the window. "It is nothing." She turned and gave him a smile as she shook her head and laughed. "Keep your eyes on the road partner. I have no want to be half metal or computer. The government did enough to me as it is." She smiled as she pulled out the report they were going to check out. It sounded like a simple job. They just needed to check a old abandon building to make sure nothing was out of the usual there. Meiko pulled the gun from her holster on her hip as she made sure it was loaded. She quickly returned it to its place.

"It's just a stakeout. I doubt we'll need to use our weapons." Scott drove the squad car and parked it a safe distance away from the mansion, so they wouldn't be spotted. "You have a problem wih me being a cyborg, don't you?"

Meiko looked straight a head as she spoke to him. "No Scott it is not that fact that bothers me. There is nothing about you that bothers me. We are just to different in our styles of handling things. You were trained as a solider. It is ok if you are sloppy with your aim or job.I was trained to kill and not get caught, be perfection and make it as if you were never there.

Scott just shook his head. "You need to loosen up more. Your too uptight." Scott used his ocular vision to zoom in on the mansion, and his thermal vision to see through the walls.

Meiko gently open the car door as she got out. She shut the door behind her as she walked to the building beside them. She looked up at it as she began to make her calculation on how far she would need to jump. In a quick motion Meiko was up the wall and on the roof of the building. She crouched down as she observed the building. She pulled out her glasses and put them on. With them she could see thermal images or any high amounts of dangerous compounds that would be found in bombs or guns. She took out her ear piece and laid it beside her. She didn't figure she needed to hear from Scott while she sat there. "May be he is right but there is no other way to live for me. This way has kept me alive for to long now. Why would I change it?"

Scott examined the mansion with his thermal vision. Suddenly, he detected that it was full of explosives, and set to go off. He tried to radio Meiko, but could not get in contact with her. Scott ran from the squad car, and in one leap landed on top of the mansion. He grabbed Meiko and jumped from the roof just as the bomb went off. Scott landed with Meiko safely on the street.

Meiko looked at Scott then back at the building she looked as if she was in a daze. Her mind flashed back to her last mission. She had been on a building just like this one and the same thing happen only no one had been there to save her. When the explosion happen she was thrown to the other building where the agent she was working with found her instead of helping her he tied her up and gave her to the one they had been trying to capture. He betrayed her as she soon came to found out he betrayed many others too. That is where her nightmare started. The rest of her years would be spent in daily torture. Tears fell from her eyes as she sat there as the memorys came back to her.

Scott kneeled down beside her. "Meiko! are you ok? Are you hurt?"

Meiko just sat there as she stared at the building as the memorys kept coming. When they had pasted she turned and looked at him as she gave him a nod. She gently wiped the tears from her eyes as she looked to make sure she had all of her weapons. After finding all of them still on her she gently rose to her feet. She whipped the dirt off her clothing as she looked to see small scratches from the explosion. Her voice was quavery as she spoke. "...Than-Thank you Scott. I am sorry I should have paid better attention.

"Thats ok. Just remember to look before you leap next time." Scott helped Meiko back to the squad car, then radioed HQ about the bomb. Scott and Meiko were orderd to return asap.

Meiko kept quite the whole trip back to HQ. Her mind still lost in the past as she sat there. She looked up at Scott then back at her lap as turned and looked out the window. "I am sorry for the tears please forgive me. I am sorry for being less than friendly to you as well Scott. I know it must be hard for to you be a cyborg now."

"Oh, don't be sorry. I've actually gotten used to it. I may not look human on the outside, but I am on the inside." Scott looked breifly at Meiko. "Don't be so hard on yurself. there is no way you could have known there was a bomb in their. And besides, your the best. I wouldn't want anyone else as a partner."

Meiko rose a brow to him and laughed. "Then you are crazy." She shook her head as she looked at her hands. "Great now I get to explain to the chief how I manged to almost get myself killed I know he'll love this story. He LOVES all of my story's." Her voice was full of sarcasm she dreaded having to talk to the chief.

They arrived at the station. Scott went over to his terminal to upoad all of the data while Meiko went to speak with the cheif.

Meiko kept quite as the chief went on his rampage on responsibility and team work. She waited till he hand finished to look up at him. "Did you hear any thing I just told your Meiko? You have to stop thinking you are doing your old job. This is a totally different one. You could have been killed today along with Scott. What if a criminal came up and killed him why he tried to help you? Meiko think next time if there is a next time for you! I think you need therapy as well as time in the rookie program. Until you can prove what team work means Meiko you are no longer a acting officer. I will expect full reports for the therapist as well as your best in the rookie program if you ever want to become a acting officer again. Scott deserve better than this Meiko and so do you!" Meiko sat there as she tried to understand what he was saying. Her face turned red as she realized what he was saying. She stud up and walked out the door. "MEIKO you get back here I am not through with you!" Meiko pulled out her sunglasses as she made her way to the door. "Yes you are chief. You made it clear. I have better things to do with my time than see some dumb shrink. Especially not on the account of a man who doesn't want to hear anyone out. You have your mind made up and so do I." Meiko walked passed Scott she turned and looked at him then walked out the door. She sat in her apartment as she thought about her day. She couldn't believe he thought she needed therapy again. She had had countless hours of it after coming back home. She looked down at the tube of venal ice cream that was half empty and hung her head. "Great now I'm out of ice cream again I just bought this one the other night."

Scott knocked on the door to Meicko's apartment. "Meiko, are you home? I brought beer."

Meiko looked from the ice cream tub to her door. "why would he come by?" She thought as she got up and open the door for him. She looked down a little embarrassed she had forgot she was in her pajamas. But there was nothing she could do now she hoped he liked hearts they were all over her pajama top and bottoms. "Yes I am home it is nice to see you."

Scott tossed Meiko a beer. "I over heard your talk with the cheif. After you left, I told him it was my fault for not alerting you to the bomb. I was able to convince him to put you back on actice duty, with no therapy." Scott popped open a beer and sat down.

Meiko stared at him lost for words. She didn't know to believe him or not. She walked back to her couch and put the tub of ice cream on her table. She open her beer looking at it. After the day she had she wasn't going to tune it down. She turned it up and drank it. After a bit she turned and looked at him. "So what other skills do you have that I don't know about?"

"I can access data files on anyone, including you. I know all about how you were betrayed and imprisoned. It must have been horrifying to be stabbed in the back by your partner. Just know that I will never do that." Scott leaned back and drank his beer.

Meiko almost chocked on the beer as she heard him. She flashed her eyes at him in shock and disbelief. Her file had been locked away under the governments highest security. How did he hack pasted that she wandered. But then again any cyborg with half a brain could hack into the governments files they weren't to kine on protecting their files. She sat back as she began to drink again. "So how long have you known? Do you enjoy digging into other peoples past? You don't even know the first thing about how it feels. The person you are suppose to trust with your life betrays you. All of your work gone your freedom your life your friends your family. You have no idea."

"At least you have a body. Have you ever been walking down a road in the midle of nowhere with your best friend, talking about football. And in a split second, your coverd in his brains after you just watched his head explode from a sniper's bullet? So yeah, I think I know."

Meiko turned and faced him. "NO you don't know. Have you been tested on for years by the government trained to be the perfect weapon told if you every fail you were on your own to die? No of course not soldiers have the backing of the government! You can have a life where you don't have to pretend to like something or be something your not. You get to love those who love you. When you go to bed you don't have to worry about if you are going to make it though the night. Who is going to come and kill you this time! You have no idea so don't come in my house and tell me you do robo boy! And your right I don't know what it is like to be a cyborg like you but I have had others brains on me as well as others blood."

Scott slammed down his beer and got up. "I knew it was a mistake to come here. I thought there was some humanity in you, but instead all I find is a bitter old shell of a human being that does nothing but blame all of its problems on the world. The cheif was right, you do need theapy and to be off of the unit!" Scott left Meiko's apartment, samming the door on his way out.

Meiko picked up his beer and hers and threw them in the sink. She went to her room and got dressed in a hurry as she grabbed her weapons. She put on her shads as she headed out the door locking it behind her. She got on her motor cycle leaving a pile of dust behind her as she road off. "Who needs him anyhow. I most certainly didn't ask to be part of the Unite or his partner. Why should I care what he thinks of me?" She pulled in to one of the old buildings at the dock as she got off her bike. She walked into the old building. There she found her old informant. "Well...well...if it isn't my old friend what brings you here?"
