Scott went back to his apartment. He sat in his chair, completely aware of the person hideing in the shadows. "Hello Lillith. Long time no see."

Meiko brought out her the files that she had put on a disc. The informant smiled as he laughed and took it from her. "I see...well then I guess you want back in. You know I have missed you Meiko you have always been my favorite to work with. The boss has you a new target already lined up. We have been expecting you. You were never cut out to do police work." He laughed as he pulled out a disc he pushed it as video came from it playing for the two of them. "That is the ship you need to help our shipment is on there if you do a good job I promise you'll get your pick from our inventory."

Hearing words and a hint of criticism she just couldnt help but laugh. Lilith slowly walked out of the shadows in Scotts dusty apartment and hopped on his banged armoire, sitting & swinging her legs. "Hello, Scott", she said smiling, "Still got that gentlemanly charm with the ladies I see".

"And you still have a way of sneaking into places were your not wanted. I haven't seen you since we were both discharged. What do you want?"

Meiko waited for the shipment on the dock. She stud in her old assassin uniform it still fit her as good as it ever did. She waited till the ship had docked then slipped onto it. She moved down to the lower deck where the cargo was. Scott and the Chife may not believe in her but she did. She may not be all that great at people skills but she could do her job. She quckly took out the first two guards then headed from the bosses room. She slipped through one of the roof tiles and surprised the boss as she knocked him out and tied him up. She quickly used her sleep gas and put the others out. As she quickly tied them up. She put in a call to the Chief and Scott to let them pick up the boss and this thugs. She stayed and watched from the dock where no one could see her.

Lilith eyes him briefly before reaching in his 'fridge for a brew and bitting the cap off, downing the contents and enjoying the familiar taste of cheap beer. "Sorry for causing you so much distress, Scott", she holds her eyes against him reading his now cold character, "I need the files of the agent who dispatched me", she speaks with intent knowing he still works for the pigs."Seeing your upgraded exterior gives me the impression you have files I could never reach in this form".

"And why should I help you? Whats in it for me?"

Meiko turned as the unite officers appeared and cleaned up the criminals. She got on her bike and drove away at top speed. By this time she was in her normal outfit her sunglasses as normal for her as she went. Meiko parked her bike as she walked up to Scotts door she was about to knock on his door when she heard the voices from inside. She had wanted to tell him she was sorry. She stepped back as she turned to leave.

"Well", she says, "You don't have to tell me". she says reaching for another brew and sitting beside him close enough to notice the uneasiness in his body, "I could just get something from that lil filly you're working with now, Meiko? That's her name isn't it?. She'd make an awesome cyborg", she says cooly, "Don't you agree?"

Seeing the slight hint of anger in his eyes she chooses to retract her words. Remembering better times she chooses to apologize slightly.

"We were such close friends", she drinks from the bottle and places it on the floor between them, "What the hell happened to you, and why are you still so close to The Unit?"

"Because we fight for justice. At least I thought we did. The only law and order in this city is for humans. I don't get any respect as a cyborg. Not even from my so called partner." Scott paused for a moment. "Alright, I'll help you. Whats your plan?"

Meiko stud there frozen at what she heard she felt anger engulf her has she stud there. "I'm the one who need therapy and he is going to help some physio really?" Meiko thought to herself as she stud there. She crossed her arms as she heard them. She pulled out the mic he had gave her when they were on duty to contact him and threw it against the door as she stormed off. She didn't care who was in there she just couldn't believe he had pretended to care about her or the Unite.

Noticing the stress in his pause she looked to the ground not wanting to let what she was thinking go free.

"I've always been a 'borg", she started, "I won't even try to understand how you feel. Your partner, she has her own issues. If your hard ass would soften up, she may too", she picked up the bottle and drank from it deeply before placing it back on the ground, "All I can say is that humans are victims. The unit has an ulterior motive behind what they're doing with us 'borgs, both created and re-born", she says looking over Scotts shell, "Each having their own purpose".

She got up and walked towards the door after reading the information she needed from Scott's surface files. Turning around to look him in his face, she says.....

"You never questioned The Unit about why they let you live but chose it fitting to let your friend rot. Maybe, just maybe, you'd like to look into that.".

Lilith had picked up more skills than Scott expected from his files and enhanced her cooling device to confuse his heat sensory and depth perception. In a flash she was out of sight.

Scott needed time to think. he left his apartment and went for a walk. He enterd the park, where a couple bumped into him. "Watch it tin head!" the guy shouted. Scott found a bench and sat down. He was in a world where he didn't belong.

Meiko parked her bike as she walked into the park she walked up to him and stud in front of him and glared at him. She kept her arms crossed across her chest as she stared at him.

Scott looked up at Meiko. "Im not in the mood for a damn lecture. What are you doing here anyway? I'm not your partner anymore."

"No your right your just another criminal aren't you! I can't wait for the chief to here your words! I thought you said you would never betray me. But then again your just a cyborg how would you know about human emoticons and the importance of keeping promises. You made a oath when you joined the Unite was that a lie too? I am pretty sure there are other cyborgs who are better than you, who would mean their promise. Or at lest we could program them too. I don't ever want to see your face around this place again. I don't need a badge to kill." Meiko turned from him she left him there she was to mad to even look at him anymore. She quickly got on her bike and headed to HQ. Meiko sat in her office as the Chief went over the sound files she gathered at Scott's house. Neither one of them were happy about the sound files. Meiko pulled up files on Scott and went through them closer than she had before she had to be missing something. Why would he change like that all of a sudden. After a While the chief came in and the two talked. Meiko agreed to taking the stupid therapy again and do the rookie training on the side. She also made another promise to the chief. The two of the talked for hours about what had happen. At that point Meiko realized why she was so made at Scott it wasn't that he helped a old friend it was because he had hurt her, she had never felt such anger before. He was right she was just a shell. Maybe she did need the therapy after all and this time she would really let it sink in. And maybe all he needed was a good smack in the head to get him thinking straight.

Scott wanderd the streets he heard screams coming from a back alley. He ran over and saw a woman being attacked. The attacker just looked up at Scott. "What are you going to do garbage heap? Don't you need permission from a human to do anythi-" Scott took out his desert eagle and shot the guy in the head. The woman looked at him, asking "Who are you?"
Scott simply replied "I'm more human than human."

Meiko walked this time as she went outside. She needed to think and if she walked home it would giver her plenty of time to think. Meiko pulled out the card that her old informant had slipped to her before she left. He had promised her she could have a pick from their inventory if she protected the cargo she had and got the thiefs who stole it as well. Did she really want to start over as some one new? Did she really want to forget about Chief and Scott. Did she really not want to be human anymore." The thoughts ran through her head as she headed in the direction of the informants card. The government did owe her the chose they had ruined her life and she was sick of trying to pretend she was ok and not a total mess.

The next day Scott headed for hideout of a local gang. They had hidden behined legal red tape and technicality's, so they got away every time. But not today. Scott burst into the club holding a Squad Automatic Weapon. One of the gang members looked at him in shock. "Hey cop, you got a warrent?" "I'm not a cop." Scott then opened fire, killing everyone in the bar. "And there's your warrant."

Meiko shook her head as she watched him from the street. "I should have just went to the place no I had to tail him instead why?" She mumbled as she entered the door frame. She crossed her arms over her chest as she stud there. "What in hell do you think you are doing Scott? This isn't you why are you doing this. I know that I am just a shell of a person and I should be the cyborg. Scott you are full of life and emotion this is not you why are you doing this. I know that I suck as a partner and a living being but I do know that you are a great person and this is out of your character what did she do to you? Where is the Scott that every one loves? Where is the Cyborg who promised to never fail....where is my friend?" She hung her head at those words as a tear fell from her eye. "I never told you that you were my friend and that I did care for you instead I ignored you because I was afraid to get close to you. But it looks like I have lost my friend. They Cyborg I knew as Scott was human you...y-you..just a machine. I should have told him when I had the chance. I am sorry for not doing so."

"Friend? you always treated me like crap. Always makeing judgements. I don't need the unit. The only way to get rid of the crime in this city is to deal with it directly, not through a bunch a red tape." As Scott walked past Meiko out the door, he turned to her. " I'm sorry that I even wasted my time on a self loathing, bitter person like you." Scott got into his car and drove off.

Meiko followed him she shook her head as she looked from the roof of the buildings as she ran across them. "I am going to hate myself in the morning for this I know." She closed her eyes as she leaped from the building she pulled out her katana as she open her eyes in time to see Scotts care beneath her. She slammed her katana in hood of the car as she held onto it winching a little at the pain. She was sick of him ignoring her he was going to talk to her and get this out of his system if it was the last thing she done. She was happy her katana hadn't hit anything to make the car explode. She just hopped he wasn't in the mood to kill her. "OK SCOTT YOUR RIGHT!!!!! I might be a shell of a person and a bitter one but that doesn't mean you have to be! If I die no one will care, I never existed any how. I am trying to be a friend and I am sorry for the way I treated you I can't tell you enough how sorry I am." She let out a scream as she almost fell from the hood as he drove this was not the way she had wanted to die. "SCOTT WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT ME TO DO TO PROVE TO YOU THAT THE UNIT NEEDS YOU, THE PEOPLE, AND ME TOO? YOU ARE STILL MY PARTNER IF YOU WEREN"T DO YOU THINK I WOULD BE HERE?" She yelled as she hung on to the handle of her Katana hoping it wouldn't slip out of her hands.

Having Meiko land on the hood of his car made Scott shout out "What the fuck!?!" He zig-zagged and came to a stop, listening to what she had to say. Scott got out of the car and walked over to Meiko, looking right at her. He simply said "Just say that you and I are one and the same."

Enclosed in darkness with her cooling system activated, Lilith sat swigging a lifted bottle of beer and watching the scene unfold before her eyes, mumbling "Utterly hopeless". Walking off tossing the beer bottle hard enough to hear it shatter. She turned away scanning the streets for the abandoned area that headquarters used to stand on.

Meiko let out a breath as she pulled her katana from his hook and stood happily on the ground. She looked at him thankful to still be alive from her stunt. "We are one and the same....and I'll pay for the damage to your hood and any thing else that might have got damaged." She fell to the ground as she sat there unable to stand from her stunt. "I will and am going to therapy and after today I think I defiantly need it. Would jumping from roofs fall under the stress related category or the singes that you have gone crazy?" She gave him a smile hoping to lighten his mood with her commit.
