Scott let out a laugh. "That depends on what kind of coverage you have." Scott helped Meiko to her feet. "Come on, I'll take you home."

Meiko laughed as she looked at him. She happily took his over of the rid home she wasn't sure she could make it there on foot. "I thought I would feel this in the morning not right away. I guess I landed to hard." She looked at him and smiled. "The chief will be so relieved to have you back. He was afraid he was stuck with me. You should have saw his face when he thought he was stuck with me. He told me if you didn't come back to shoot him...I was just to much to handle with out you. No wander he loves you. You are a one man army."

They both got in the cr, and Scott began to drive. "I guess we do need each other after all." He drove Meiko back to her place and helped her to her apartment. Scott sat Meiko on her bed. "Meiko I'm sorry I went off on you. I guess my temper is just as bad as yours." Though he couldn't physicaly do it, Scott was smileing.

Meiko smiled as she felt herself blush it had been years since anyone had made her do that. She was very thankful for the free lift and his help getting in. "Hey! You and the chief are just out to scrutinize every thing about me aren't you. As you said You and I are one. That is ok I know now to never make you mad." She laughed then smiled at him. "Thank you for putting up with this shell and not killing me today."

Scott rememberd to Meiko pulling her stunt on the car. "Well, you certainly know how to get soeone's attention."

Meiko smirked as she removed her katana from her back and placed it on her night stand next to her bed. "Well I have too, you see I work with hard heads and some times it takes a lot to get their attention. Besides normal has never been in my vocabulary. And when I believe in some thing I will fight to the end to save it."

Scott sat down. "I always thought you were only trying to protect your own hyde. I was wrong."

Meia laughed as she turned and looked at him moving closer to him. "No I am not selfish. That was my one flaw that almost ended my life instead of just my job. I care to much my work. Besides you are the only partner I have....well that hasn't sent me to be tortured and killed. I do have a heart and emotions."

Scott moved closer to Meiko. "We've never gotten to know each other on a personal basis. How about you tellme something about yourself?"

Meiko looked down at her wooden floor as she spoke. "I like the color blue, though my favorite is none green. I have never been kissed or had a boyfriend that turned into the one. I have been cheated on dumped beat and left for dead. My dreams was to become a horse trainer. I loved horse and to ride them." She shifted her eyes over to him. "What about you?"

Scott leand forward. "I liked to go fishing, but I haven't done it in years. I've never had a girlfriend. My favorite season is winter. I find the faling snw to be be peaceful."

Meiko smiled and laughed. "Then maybe you should go fishing. I would go with you. I love the snow my favorite time of the year is fall. I love the leaves when they change colors....it looks like we are humans after all."

Scott laughed. "Yeah, I guess we are." Scott got up and sat next Meiko. "Though I suppose we're differnt than regular humans for our own different reasons."

Meiko looked at him and smiled. "Your right that is what makes us the best at protecting them. I am glad you are my partner."

Scott took Meiko by the hand. " I'm glad to have you as my partner as well."

Meiko smiled, "You can stay here if you like but I am about to take some pain pills then go to sleep. I know I am not going to like myself in the morning after today."

"I'd like that." Scott layed down on Meiko's couch, and eased into a deep sleep.

After taking her pills she moved under her covers and fell fast asleep. Though she couldn't sleep that well the night mares of the night she was betrayed haunted her as she tried to sleep.

Scott got up the next morning. Meiko was still asleep. He searched her refrigerator for any liquid or soft foods, as that was the only thing he could eat. He was able to find some applesauce.

Meiko open her eyes as she felt pain run up her spin. She moved very slowly as she made it to her feet letting out a few swear words as she did so. She walked to her bathroom and turned on the shower as she hopped in and took a nice warm shower. After her shower she got dressed and cleaned up her mess from the night before. She had put medicated her wounds and muscles before going into the Kitchen. Her eyes winded as she saw Scott there. Though she just smiled as she remembered he had spent the night.

Scott looked up from eating the applesauce and saw Meiko. "Good morning, and how are you feeling?"

She laughed at the question as she went to the frig and pulled out the orange juice. She poured her a cup then went to sit beside him. "I am fine. Just a little sour. You know I have more food and there are some bears around her some where."

"That's alright. I can only eat liquid food. It's the only way I can obsorb the nutrients for my brain."

"Ok then I'll keep that in mind. I think I have soup." She drunk her Oj as she gave him a smile.

"That's ok, I just need some milk and I'll be good to go." Scott got up and got a glass of milk. "You ready to head out partner?"
