Hello everyone. Sorry for the confusing title. But I shall explain everything here.
Have you ever had a dream that has actually affected your body when you have waken up from a dream??? Or have you predicted the future in a dream???
I've always been curious as to how dreams affect certain people.
For example, as to some things that's happened to me. I had this one dream where I had been shot, and was dying. And I literally woke up gasping for air, because I apparently had stopped breathing. And if I hadn't woken up, I probably would of died. Thinking on that fact, I wonder if those people that pass away in their sleep, have actually done just that in their dreams.
I've talked to a few friends about this topic, and about what has happened to them in their dreams, and what happened when they woke up from that dream. I had a friend who had been stabbed in her dream, and she said she woke up coughing up blood. There was also this time when I had been hurt someone on both of my legs, and I woke up, and both of my legs felt paralyzed. I was able to move 'em after a moment, but it was freaky o.O
I believe that dreams can seem so realistic to some people (while dreaming), that their bodies will think whatever is happening in their dreams, is actually happening to them.
Also I've had times when I've predicted part of the future in my dreams. Most of the time it's just something small, like I was standing somewhere, with the same people, having the same discussion, 'n such.
So what are you guys' thoughts on this. Have you had a dream that actually affected your body in some way??? Have dreams where you can predict something in the future??? If I haven't talked about something here related to dreams, please feel free to post it :3. Such as something that may of happened, and what it actually means. (Ex: If you have a dream where you are flying, it apparently means that your life is going well).
Note: This isn't a thread discussing your dreams exactly. But a matter of how they have actually affected you. I know that there have been some threads about dreams. But I haven't found any on most of what I posted.

It depends on the dream, sometimes theyre unimportant (its obvious while still in the dream) and I forget all about em. Then theres the ones I wake up quiet because I have to remember what happened, or what I may have missed while recanting. I had a dream about a guy with a tail and gold bullets popping out his back (a rough draft), and I knew how and what to do about that one. It all depends rlly

You know, I've had some of the same things happened to me that you've described. Like I "looked into the future" and it was minor, and felt like deja vu, but it was mostly a concentrated emotion. I've heard of another person who experienced that type of thing, too.
I've also had dreams where I was shot! (I've also had some dreams where I've killed some people! XD) However, I had a different feeling after that one, which I'd rather not discuss.
However, the physical effects are probably from synapses in the brain. I'm sure it's electrical signals being fired from the brain to the body, and that's why the body will feel a certain way, because it's reacting how it should. Which is why one's body may just feel numb, like after your dream with your legs. (That's my guess, though.)
It may just be me, but some dreams I kind of think of as a sign. Like if certain situations happen in my dream with certain people, I'll act a certain way. Even if it's just for that day toward the people in my dream.
I also know that dreams are kind of a way for the brain to process all that went on during the day, so it cools down the mind. Yet, in the dream it meshes everything together, so dreams can get kind of weird!! XD
Interesting discussion, thanks for posting! :)

I have nightmares where everybody I love tells me they hate me and why. It affects me by making me insecure around them the next time I see them. These dreams really break my trust. I also wake up from them in tears.

Actually I don't ever remember my dreams. Very rarely am I able to wake up and recall what I dreamed. The only time I'm ever affected by them is the very standard "I was falling and woke up feeling like I was falling." Other than that, I've never been affected by them or anything.

Most of the time when I have a dream, it usually relates to what happens the next day @ [email protected]
It's very confusing unless you really think about it so I try not thinking about it much xD
Once I dreamt that I was in Vietnam and my family had been killed. I was holding a bloody knife in my hands and then fell down crying in my hands. When I woke up, I was crying and then the next morning, my mom said that her mom was really ill and had been in the hospital for like some days and that she didn't get the message until this morning >>
Other then that, the only other times my dreams affected me when I'm sleeping is when I dream of a person I like. I usually wake up with my heart beating really fast and my face is flushed red (or atleast it feels that way) >.<

I dont remember my dreams much anymore they have been slowly slipping away from me.... but when i could remember them i have had a few experiences.
one time I was having a nightmare and i was screaming well i was half awake but still in my dream and i was letting out a light scream i awoke with a sore throat.
I have had some dreams that if i was crying I would wake up crying or even sometimes if it was bad enough i would wake up having a panic attack
I dont know if this works for this subject or not but this has to be the creepiest thing that has happened to me because of dreams... its only happened to me a few times in my life but often i would be dreaming something random, and wake up but my dreams were still there but it was different from my dream... it was like hallucinations and they always scared me because it would be something like one of my posters looking like it was a demon, or a large crack in my wall, or like a massive earthquake had just hit my room I would look at it in a panic and then my eyes would focus again and it would be normal... I know i wasnt sleeping when those things happened because it scared me out of bed xD and i would be wide awake after that.
now the wierdest one is if i have dreams of flying or falling I wake up in a panic feeling like im just falling through my bed or something my body just becomes heavy and it feels like for an instant something pushed me down but i was already laying down

Nana - I've heard of a few other people being able to see into the future too. But it seems to happen to me a LOT.
Yeah, it's possible I suppose. I have a few dreams where I get hurt, but I don't always wake up feeling pain, or numb. Most of the time it's me going out killing people. I think that I take all my stress and anger out in my dreams or something. Because I'll go to bed mad, and wake up happy, lol. But there was this one time I was trying to shoot a friend, and woke up sad. I told my friend about the dream too o.O. And as for dreams being a sign, I believe that is true too. But you never know what is real and fake. But it's best to look out for what may be possible.
Amyrex2 - Wow, I'd probably feel the same way if that happened to me too.
Sailor Star Rainbow - I've had things like that happen to me too. It creeps me out every time that it happens e.e
Amelia - I've had that happen too o.O, I'll be falling in my dream, and would wake up and freak out for a moment. Though this one time I had a dream I was falling or something, and woke up on the floor o.o
Angelz - I suppose that dream was just a sign about what was going to happen. Even if it wasn't exactly what happened.
Synthetika - I don't remember very many of mine. Seeing as they are more or less day to day things. So it's not really interesting to me, so I forget. But I've never had that happen to me, waking up screaming or crying.
And that is creepy =O
That's happened a few times to me, I'll wake up, and feel that gravity is increasing or decreasing, and I'll lie there in bed feeling really weird. It's hard to explain really o.O

Stephstar101 - Aw, that sucks D:, you should look up what having sad dreams and nightmares all the time means. It's pretty much the other way around for me, I have more happy dreams than nightmares and sad dreams.

I had several dreams that had me shaking before. I once had one about my boyfriend cheating on me. I remembered that I woke up all upset until I realized it was all a dream.
I also had a dream where I was in a plane accident. I woke up crying.
Then I would have dreams that would reenact the bullying I went through close to 9 years ago. It's odd since I barely think about it, but I would wake up feeling terrified.

I don't usually remember my dreams so I don't know, though sometimes I remember that my dream is pleasant and I haven't had a bad dream in ages. ^_^

Really confusing/bad/weird dreams put me in a horrible and confused mood the next day. Good ones I just wish were real and sometimes get upset that they weren't real! And alot of the time it kind of predicts subtly what is going to happen the next day.
