Ceri chuckled at the two briefly, her pale eyes content. Then, however, she saw the raw meat he was handing to Kay. Instantly her memories shot back…a screaming girl and flesh squishing between her mouth…Ceri recoiled from the doorway. Instantly she turned her back to them, trying her hardest not to be sick. She knew it was just hamburger, she knew that she shouldn’t be so deeply reminded… but she could feel it in her mouth, hear the sound the blood made… She ran to the bathroom before coming out wiping water from her freshly rinsed mouth with one shaky hand. She then hid in the main room, staring out a window and trying to pretend it didn't exist.

][You people post too much when I'm not at home. What am I going to do with all of you? heh.][

He had been asleep far longer than he had expected to be, and only woke now from the scent of the meat cooking in the kitchen. That nose wrinkling slightly in disdain at the smell before those violet eyes slowly opened. He moved, shifting a bit and sitting up more. His eyes dancing this way and that to gaze over the room. His nose wrinkled again as that scent once more found it's way to him. Kiryn enjoyed meat, just not the meat from the human world. For the most part though, he'd rather eat fruits and that sort of thing.

The fairy stood, stretching a bit and silent. Things had happened, he was sure, he had probably missed something important. Though as long as everyone was safe that was all that mattered really. Those wings twitched slightly as he moved towards the kitchen. He stood in the doorway, watching Kay for a few moments before actually noticing the bandages around her hands. When he did see them, he was at her side in an instant and taking her hand gently by the wrist, raising it to his face to inspect. Anger had flashed in his eyes for a moment, but not anger at Kay.

"Who hurt you?" His voice sounded urgent, as if he needed to know, he had to know. That way he could punish whoever had done such a thing. He had put the human under his protection, no matter what, he would punish any who hurt her, though he had also deemed that everyone in Lyre's dwelling under his protection as well. So if any of them were hurt he would have reacted much the same way..The look in his eyes was intense.

((don't mind, they do that to me as well ^^))

"No, make enough for yourself, none of us..." Lyre waved his hands about to indicate Underhill's people, "...eat meat. Well...at least not the one's in my dwelling right now." He was now leaning on the wall, keeping most of his weight off his legs, they were stronger now, almost fully well again, but for now, it was best to go by the better safe than sorry rule.

Meat had never been her favorite, she‘d always liked bizarre fruits grown only in underhill… but it was something she could eat before. Now… Now she couldn’t even go in the kitchen while it was being cooked. Instead she lingered by the window, her hand curled into a fist. She heard Lyre’s voice, half smiling a moment. As always he was in sink with everyone elses needs… she didn’t deserve him as her friend really….

((Well I have been gone for almost 23 hours, and I only had 4 posts to read :D And sorry I completely disappeared last night Staria, I zonked out on my sofa and didnt wake up until it was time to go to work today, and I woke up covered in fluffy kitty-ness O.o))

Kay looked sheepishly at Kiryn "Umm... I hurt me? I got a little too enthusiastic when I was washing Lyre's dishes and busted a cup... I was mad at the time, but I'm doing better." Kay glanced Ceri's direction to make sure that was still the case. She still felt bad about everything, but at least she was getting along with everyone better. "Did you have a good nap?" she asked Kiryn, turning her gaze back to him. "How are you feeling? Do you need more of Ceri's tea?"

He inspected her hand a moment longer and then let go. His brow furrowed slightly and those wings twitched for a moment. "Angry at what?" He turned slightly, following Kay's glance in Ceri's direction. What had he missed when napping? Though his attention quickly returned to Kay. "Aa..it was a restful sleep." Shaking his head slightly, "I do not want more tea.." Those purple eyes looked to the meat she was cooking, and it took a bit of effort to resist wrinkling his nose at the smell and sight.

"Angry at.... things." Kay aid very criptically. She hoped he got the message to drop it for now, because she wanted to tell him everything that had happened, just not with other ears listening. "I guess I was angry at me," this last remark was made flippantly and Kay went back to watching the burgers. She had made 4 to get all the meat cooked, so it looked like they would make up her next few meals. She got a plate from Lyre and put all the cooked burgers on it. "Well, I am glad you are feeling better," she was trying to change the subject. "I was worried about you."

So she had been angry at herself..He frowned slightly. Perhaps she just didn't want to tell him. Kiryn shrugged. "I see." He didn't sound convinced though. He did wrinkle that delicate nose when she moved the meat to a plate. He was taken by surprise at her next words. "There is no need to worry about me." He studied her carefully, his gaze a bit intense and curious.

"There may not be a need, but I can worry all the same," Kay said. "So before that dog came along you were going to tell me more about Underhill right? Want to come sit out on the porch with me so I can eat with out making Ceri any sicker, and we can finish that conversation?"
Kay looked back over at Ceri, who still looked like the meat might make her hurl at any moment.

"There really isn't much to tell.." Though he nodded anyway. He would keep her company on the porch. Those eyes danced around the kitchen for a moment before grabbing a piece of fruit from nearby. Biting his bottom lip for a moment. "How long do you plan on staying in Underhill?" A simple question of curiosity, he did glance towards Ceri once, frowning slightly.

Ceri rolled her eyes, poking her head out a moment of the door as she caught the looks she was getting. “Stop looking at me funny… Or” She then looked at Ceri with a grin. There was a dazzle of mischief as she added “Or I’ll think you really liked it and do it again.” With a wink Ceri laughed and stepped out of the room back inside, able to avoid looking at the burgers and holding her breath to keep away the scent while she was outside. She now walked to a shelf, staring at it piercingly but that merely masked her inner thought.

Kay glared after Ceri as she left the porch, then made herself comfortable on the steps. "I plan on staying in Underhill for a while I guess. I really have no where left to go," Kay said in an answer to Kiryns question. "I think, if I went home now, my mother will have learned that I wrecked her truck, and she would have police out looking for me. I would probably end up in Jail. Is it ok if I stay for a while?" Kay really hoped it was and she was willing to do what ever it took to ensure that she didnt cause anymore trouble.

He stood a bit behind her on the porch, looking out into the yard. Ever alert for danger. The fingers of one hand toying with the pommel of his sword. "Why would they put you in jail?" He frowned slightly. "A mother would never do that to their own child." His brow had furrowed slightly. The human world was dirty, but surely the people there weren't as cruel as rumors said. Some residents of Underhill regularly went back and forth between the two realms. For the most part he had ignored Ceri's remark, but he would ask Kay about it later.

Kay let out an amused grunt, "Huh, you obviously have never met someone like my mother. She was trying to throw me in jail the night I wrecked the truck and ended up here. I drove her truck trying to get away from the psyco... and it seems to have worked. She cant bother me here anymore..." Kay gazed out into the night, remembering all too well the horrible nights she had spent back at home with her mother. She did not miss them. And to think that earlier I was in Lyres living room crying because I wished none of this had happened. I think no matter what happens in this place, I am better off than I was.

"Um Kiryn.... there was a reason I asked you to come outside with me. I wanted to tell you something with out the others hearing. Its about what really happened while you were sleeping...." Kay was looking down at her burger, talking more ot less to the plate now... Her voice had grown very quiet.

][I've been spending time with my mom, shes visiting from out of town. She's done nothing but drive me insane and give me a chronic migraine that won't go away for two days.][

He was still frowning a bit, brows furrowed. Humans treated their offspring horribly, from what he could tell. At least just by her words. Though he knew all humans weren't like that, or rather, he assumed. Everyone was different, there is almost always a bit of bad mixed in with the good.

Kiryn looked at her, watching Kay carefully. "...What happened while I was asleep? Does it have anything to do with why you're hands are wrapped?" That brow furrowed even more and the next question was asked with a hesitant, almost cautious tone. "Does it have anything to do with the Witch?"

After Kay and Kiryn had gone outside, Lyre extinguished his fire spell and then headed for the staircase. As he had thought Ceri hadn't taken him seriously...at least not the way he had wanted her to. Before leaving the kitchen though he made sure to leave out plates and utensils, along with the food, on the table, in case anyone got hungry. Then he nimbly climbed the stairs and entered his room again. He closed the door behind him and fell onto his bed messing up the covers even further. He stared tiredly up at the ceiling, humming an old lullaby his mother used to sing to him when he was younger...when she was still around.

Kay turned her head so that she was looking up into Kiryn's face. She could already tell he knew a lot about what was going on in Ceri's head. But she wanted to make sure he knew it all. If he was determined to protect everyone, then he had to know. "Kiryn, when I said the cup is what hurt me, I was not lying. But if it hadnt been for... other things, I would not had busted the cup out of anger." She paused to consider her own words very carefully.
"Ceri, she has not seemed herself. I know I have only just met her. But sometimes she is Ceri and sometimes she is... something else. In the human world, we have movies that are about people like her, about people who are normal sometimes, and then are different at other times. We say those people are possessed by the devil, or by demons, or ghosts. It doesnt matter what it is, but it is something non-human, that dictates their behaviors...
I know I am new to your world, so I might just be over imagining. But I think something like that is happening to her."
Kay waited to make sure Kiryn had understood all she was telling him and then continued.
"Ceri looked really upset about something after the demon dog showed up. I thought she was upset about you getting hurt. But now I think she is upset about whatever is hurting her, and the idea that it can hurt us. She threatened, well the thing in her threatened to kill me, said it could kill me easily...." Kay's voice dropped down to a whisper and she told him the entire conversation between herself and Ceri, in the hall. Told him about the kiss, told him about busting the cup in the kitchen, and Lyre's anger, and Lyre's weakness. She began to cry and just looked at him and told him how lost she felt here, and how difficult it all was, because at the same time, there was no where else she wanted to be.

For the second time that night, Kay let one of her oldest defensive walls down. It felt good to be herself in front of someone, but it was terrifying too, because she didnt want him to judge her as being weak.

Kiryn's expression didn't change as he listened to her. Nodding occasionally to show that he followed her conversation closely. He interrupted her only once and that was when she mentioned Ceri could be possessed. A slight shake of his head. "Happening? No..I think she has been like that for a few years at the least." That was all he said while she spoke, not interrupting her anymore after that. When she began to cry, Kiryn moved, gripping her gently and pulling her up and to him. Holding her against his chest. "It's alright....You've been through a lot and haven't had the time to take a proper rest..." His arms were strong around her, but gentle. One hand resting on her back lightly and the other hand resting a bit higher up, between her shoulder blades.

"There isn't much I can do about the Witch. She won't accept anyone's offer of help or friendship. I will protect you from her though, if that means drawing my sword against her, then I will."

"Oh no!" Kay gasped though a sob. "We can't kill her Kiryn. The fact that she pushes people away means she is at least trying to protect us from herself. Isnt there a way we can try and help her. Back home we have doctors, but here you have magic too." Kay rested her head on his chest. "Kiryn, I know you will do what you have to, to keep everyone safe. But can we try to make that our last resort?" Kay had stopped sobbing now. She felt better, and Kiryn was right, she did need a good rest.

"Sometimes, things we don't fully agree with must be done. Killing, though, should always be used only as a last resort." His arms around Kay had tightened for a moment then relaxed. "Magic is not the answer to all problems, in fact, it can make things worse sometimes. If there is a demon inside her, then Holy magic could be used, however, there is a chance that the Witch would die as well. A very high chance." He closed his eyes tightly. "Besides, in my experiences, demons often make a pact with the one they choose, and if that pact is broken they will drag that person's soul into the depths of hell with them. I'm afraid, the really isn't much I can do at all." Those eyes opened and he looked down at the human in his arms. There had been a time in his life when he would never touch a human, never allow one into Underhill, but things changed. "Things always change." He murmured softly

Ceri sighed, running a hand through her hair as she thought. She was reminded of something, a stirring of familiar energy…Why was it so familiar? Even as she thought the question, however, she instantly realized there was something about the energy farm more important… It was demonic… and not far outside. Those two were on the porch!

Her icy blue eyes grew wide for a moment before in a blur of the ebony cloth of her coat she arrived just outside the front door. She skidded to a stop, glancing at the two hugging closely. Not wanting to worry Kay, or rather panic Kay since she’d been frozen last time… she flashed them both a smile.

“Awww, How cute you too are! Makes even me want to hug you.” She taunted, stepping close to the stairs. She let her senses search, trying to find the source of the disturbing energy tickling at her senses. Why was it so familiar… and why wasn’t it taking a solid form enough to attack yet… something was wrong. Yet she simply smiled, looking as if nothing was wrong.

He was taken a bit by surprised when Ceri came out. Silently he only looked at her, Smirking slightly at her comment, and then. One arm removed itself from around Kay and he reached out to grab Ceri, gently, but strongly. "Then hug us." A bit of teasing in his tone. Once he grabbed her, he pulled her against him and Kay. His arm encircling her, gently but strongly. He'd let her go if she pulled away. "There now..One nice group of....friends..?" He questioned softly, those words mostly directed to Ceri.

Kay had turned red when Ceri had walked out on the porch. I hope she doesnt get the wrong idea. Hug? Oh God! Kay hadnt been that close to Ceri sense the kiss. And suddenly she found herself sandwiched between Kiryn and Ceri. "Well, I am glad to see your doom and gloom mood has gone out the window for a moment Ceri." Kay decided if Ceri went through anymore emotional mood swings, then Kay was gonna get whip lash.

Ceri was so distracted by her searching through the energy that she didn’t have time to react till his arm was around her and he was speaking. For a moment her ears instantly perked, and the sudden scent of the two tickling at her nose made her blush. She was forced to close her eyes to head off the demon’s attack on her, but mainly she was just pushing away bad memories. Her abusers were not here.

Her ears began to lower as she came back to herself, her tone darkening as she whispered “Of course… my friend. But give me warning next time!!!” She bit her lip, squirming free with an amusing blush and puzzled look that showed she was not use to being hugged… For a moment she just looked at the two with that same blushing, puzzled reaction, for a moment just the lonely creepy kid she always was…

It fled quickly however, as she made a peace sign at Kay. “aww you’re so red, you must like him.” she taunted in response. Meanwhile she reached out her energy once more, glancing out into Underhill a moment as if looking for something. She knew she felt something… but what was it?
