You should go to Camden town, buy hair dye in one of the shops there. They are bound to have something that you like.

it's not that mum won't do it for me, it's more that I don't want things to cock up and go ginger

It's hard to dye hair the right way...Why don't you get hot pink and do highlights? that way things won't turn out that horrible if the colour turns out to your dislike.

I've dyed my hair purple and red... guess which colour they both fade too!

HIM uses vegtable hair dye so it's not perminent and if you don't like the colour it's easy to strip out.

Or bring a picture of the style you want and demand it, when it isn't to your taste, just stay there until it is! It's your hair, you pay your cut for the way YOU want it, not for what's easier for them.

Just get hair dye from a store and try it out? Make sure it isn't 'permanent' though, that stuff stinks...But then again, it might be the only way to dye your hair...
