for once I don't feel bad coming out of critiques. everyone had major issues with this last art project.

and firefox is doing an update. I'll switch to my main when it loads.

they are and usually my project isn't really the best so its....er....painful to go through critiques, but everyone was on pretty much the same level this project. no one really stuck out as not good or really good.

kinda. mostly the critiques are about how well we fit into the parameters of the project and finding all the elements in a peice that works with it or doesn't work.

They sound structured, at least. No classroom flamewars and such. :)

yeah, but its more helpful with doing the project that applying it to any further art.

On the other hand, knowing how to take criticism when you're an artist is pretty important. Some can't. Some professionals can't. oO

yeah, I'm used to it and try not to get too defensive but it can really get you down if people don't see what you do or don't like it when you think its pretty good. I went in thinking my project was crap so I guess I couldn't feel worse about it.

That makes sense. I think I learned to take critique pretty well in middle school, but... Yeah, it's hard not to feel defensive sometimes.

Sure. But if they aren't getting what you're trying to convey, that's something to look at, right? It might not be all on them.

that's true as well, but its more frustrating. and its like, you keep trying to explain something that makes perfect sense to you and your friends and people that are like you and then other people don't get it at all.

:) And... That's where the critiques come in, because a new perspective can catch things other people might not be able to. Right?
