I do like Kiera as Elizabeth, but I'm also not as invested in the book as some. :p

I love the BBC version the most, but there is something about Matthew Macfayden as Darcy

I guess I know how you feel. I haven't found a movie version of Jane Eyre I've really loved yet, and I've seen... three? I think three...

The Ruth Wilson one, Woody? Yeah. That's my favorite so far, but I can't get over the destitution sequence, and they didn't spend enough time at Lowood school.
Have fun and g'night then, Linn!

<3 Night night Linny bear!
Yes, that one. I agree. It is my favorite, but also, yes, they really don't spend enough time on her earlier years.

And the running away, Woody! In the Ruth Wilson, they have her basically give up on life and... Just, no!

Oh, when she leaves? Yah, she was pretty desolate.... but then again, if that was my Mr. Fairfax, I might be a touch desolate as well. He was pretty dreamy and well....moody :P
Nice Kitteh! I might have to think up a really good llama :P

Kitteh: Hee! Breed, llamas, breed!
Woody: Fairfax? You mean Rochester? :p But, yeah, I get that, but... I the book, she gives up on him, but she doesn't give up. Granted, leaving her situation is a possible death sentence, but she looks for work to the point of exhaustion and starvation, you know? She doesn't just wander off into the moor to die and be rescued.

wow, did I really say that? Ug..... Rochester, yes. You can tell I've been working all day.
Yah, she does have more determination in the book, but, that can come off as not caring when translated to film. You know? So I kinda understand the whole exaggerated moor scene, but also I guess it does detract from Jane's strong personality a bit.
Hold on, I have an amazing comic I need to find you now.

Woody: Heh. S'okay. Brain farts happen. :)
It can't be an easy scene to get right. I understand her desolation and her giving up on love, but just giving up entirely... Nah, not my Jane. I think the Zelah Clarke version did it better, or at least truer to the book, but that one annoyed me, too, for whatever reason. (Might just have been Zelah.) It's an important scene. Why can't they get it right?
Ooh, comic... :)

What's the subject tonight!? :gonk:
As usual, Cica's train of thought amuses me.
By the by, I read that article...
And to be blunt, well... The damn comments are more interesting than the actual article.
Mainly because it's a political party crossfire, and people are justifying the centuries of torture Christianity as a whole has inflicted upon the world with "what good they've done in the past 50 years"... Which, in hindsight, isn't the amount of good the OP blindly assumed. :stare:
Blah. Religion gets my blood boiling. :gonk:
