alright, since I'm drowning in a new very very deep pit of hw and hungry now to boot. I'm just going to say hi and get off. see ya. RIP: if you don't ever see me again, please bury my avi with happy thoughts! T___T
haha things are ok... i just spent half an hour on the phone with the cable company :( ... i got a digital converter box for the old school tv in my room and there is no connection or something... i have to wait tow days, TWO DAYS, for a service guy to come out... I MISS CABLE!!!!
Aww, that sucks. :( Not that I have ever had cable or watch much television anyway, but the digital conversion really didn't work all that well. We still don't get NBC!
I'm okay, though. Just joined another RPG, which I don't need, but the way things are going it may be a while before it actually starts. XD And... I'm ahead in my online class and putting off reading for my Native American History class, but...
you sound like you are doing ok though :) that's good to hear...
so you aren't much of a tv watcher? i'm not really either, i mostly just have it on as background noise, as i spend a lot of time in my bat cave (my bedroom lol) i usually watch the anime on adultswim on saturday nights, but that's about it
Nah, not really. If someone else is watching it, sometimes I will for a little bit, if it's entertaining. A little Antiques Roadshow here, a little American Idol there, you know. But they always seem to cancel the brilliant series I actually like, and it's really not worth getting attached anymore.
I still can't believe the cancelled Pushing Daisies...
oh, me too! there is some seriously lame reality shows out there and i don't understand why they are popular or why people prefer rubbish like that over real tv shows... what is the appeal for reality tv?
i see it as i have too much drama in my every day life, why would i want to watch a show that will just give me an anxiety attack lol
Yeah, the talent shows are one thing, but the "reality" stuff... I don't know, it's predictable. Throw a bunch of loud-mouthed jerks in a situation and make them do stuff. I mean, that's the formula, right?
unfortunately it is... but man, i just can't stand it... i think that's why i pretty much watch anime and/or cartoons all the time... at least they are creative... usually lol
what are some of the comics you read?
i read lots too... it's my preferred choice of escapism lol... at the moment i am reading the sookie stackhouse/southern vampire books... they aren't bad... not bad at all :)
I read a variety of comics, though my focus is on super-heroes. The Fantastic Four is my favorite team, and Marvel my favorite multiverse, though it's been really gritty lately so I've been cutting back on that. Sticking with the more light-hearted titles. But I like a good horror comic, too, and I'm following a few Vertigo series. Um, but the strangest one I'm reading lately is Chew. I'm not sure what to call it. Horror comedy?
Anyway... I haven't read any of the Sookie Stackhouse books yet, but I have been into urban fantasy lately. Werewolf and fairy-focused stuff though, not so much with the vampires.
i never read the fantastic four series, but i've read a lot of x-men... i love them!
that whole supernatural genre is so addicting!! i wasn't really into it until sara lee cupcake made me read the twilight books... i read them and i loved them! so bad... anyways, the point of this story is, since then i have been consumed by supernatural novels... i love it... and i'm totally immersed!
Heh. I can't stand Twilight, but you already know that. Actually, I think the series that got me started in urban fantasy was the Kitty Norville series by Carrie Vaughn. Strong heroine, lots of character growth and depth, plenty of adventure. Adventure is more important to me than romance.
Oh, they are. While you're at it, look up the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs. Oh, and if you like djinn and elemental mages, the Weather Warden series by Rachel Caine is also worth checking into. :)
