lol, I still am facinated with Yin Yang and Daoism. I have a copy of the Dao now, got it for a class and kept it. I like to doodle yin-yang-ish art that has black and white animals/shapes wrapped around each other but isn't traditional yin yang.

nice... i've read the tao too... i took a 'search for god' class and we learned all about it... there are some really fascinating religions out there... it makes me sad not to have a faith to call my own... i guess i believe in something, but i like lots of different ideas from lots of different beliefs... so i guess i am a mutt lol

hm, I'm catholic, but I like learning about all the other religions.

from what I was taught, Taoism, Confucianism, and the others like that are philosophies not religions.

yea that makes sense... but i don't think are many methodists who are into taoism lol but you never know i guess...

i like shamanism the most though... my professor who taught the class was a shaman, her and her husband... they did these sweat lodges and i went to a couple of them... i really liked it... i felt really close to mother nature, it was an amazing experience and different each time...

which one do you find the most interesting? or rather, if you weren't catholic, which one would you practice?
of course, you don't have to answer... i know how some people feel about religions and things of that nature so if it is too personal, by all means don't answer

really, you never know.

I've researched stuff about shamanism and Inuit religions and the stuff is pretty interesting. I do beleive in some philosophies from stuff like that.

hm, I really wouldn't know what to answer. of course I'm biased towards Catholic, but I'm very interested in Shintoism and Shamanism. That and....I have a hard time not believing in Reincarnation which I think kinda goes against Catholic belief.

Oh... religion huh? I'm the same way Linnea. I don't have a set religion but I have beliefs and morals. And that way you can take bits and pieces from all religions, the good parts and just adapt your own thing. I think that a lot of religion is whatever you believe in, is what's true. By you believeing in it, it's real. If that makes sense. Like if you believe in reincarnation, then it's real for you. But if you believe in heaven and hell, then there you go... to one or the other.

Hmm... I suppose that there is something like that. Like once you've finished your time here you earn the right to go there and if you don't make it there is purgatory...? O_O

shintoism seems really neat too... we didn't learn about it in the class i took, but i researched a bit on it myself... i really like japanese culture and things so i had to find out about it!

i think someone could believe in heaven and then believe another religions 'version' of hell or a damned place... i'm not sure what i believe... but i guess i always figured that when we die our bodies are given back to the earth... our spirit lives on in the lives of friends and family and the people we loved and who loved us... but i also believe in reincarnation... i have a friend who is a practicing wiccan and he said to me once that i have an old soul, as in i was reincarnated many times...
but i also believe there is a better place when you die and i also think there is that place in the middle...

it's all so tricky... how can we be sure?... we just have to believe

Hey, Kat! ^_^

I'm agnostic, Zephi. I feel a great sense of wonder when it comes to the natural world, but that's about as spiritual as I get. (Oh, also, the stars, but in the astronomical sense, not the astrological.) ... if that makes any sense at all. You did ask for it.

(Wow, talk about a conversation killer... oO)
