I  cat people!!! :heart:__:heart:

ooh, I love demons and angels! I have finally perfected the art of drawing wings. I find myself drawing angel wings all the time.

Mhm! I saw some of them on your deviant art earlier today. I like your style of drawing wings! I was never able to get the really feathery wings quite right. The style I do now (the one that finally worked for me) kind of look a bit more like fur than feathers (really fluffy) and were influenced by the DNAngel manga.

I never got past book 1 of DNAngel. wings are really difficult to draw, but I've got something that works. I still improve them of course.

Ah, too bad. I really enjoyed that series (read through it several times). It's torture that the series has been on hiatus for so long!

They are really hard. And I haven't paid the attention to improving them that I should. v.v I really do need to try to figure out the feathery wings since I think they'll work better with my angel characters. ... I also need to learn to draw slightly "manlier" men. =P

the books just weren't available for me and I haven't had time to read books lately.

hehe, my men aren't usually manly but that's because I don't have any reference besides pictures I've found on the internet and really, I don't want to google search some stuff for fear of what I will get!

That's for sure. It's always easier to draw from reference pics where you can see a good deal of anatomy. For women, just go to a clothing site that sells lingerie. But for men? They're always wearing baggy pants even if they are shirtless. Where do you go to find them in just boxers or briefs without having to worry about finding nudity? x.x'

yeah, so true. part of it is that I'm a girl and find it easier to draw them. but guys....well, I don't have interest in drawing them without clothes at the moment  actually, I'd just settle for drawing the face and chest right. I actually like drawing clothes though!!! indeed indeed.

It's not that I don't like drawing clothes. Usually when I do a drawing though, I draw them naked first and then add the clothes. It's easier that way to get the anatomy right.

hm, I'll draw a stick figure first some times, but I usually don't. I dunno, I guess I've practiced so much that at least when I'm drawing anime, I have a good sense of the proportions. drawing realistically though...that's another story.

Sad thing is, I always wanted to draw realistically. Ever since I was a child. I finally realized in high school, what with having art classes there, that I just do not have a knack for it. My "realistic" charcoal still lifes were more "surreal" than "real" (my art teacher loved them for it though, so I still got an A XD).

aw, I didn't figure out realistic until late high school. I used to think I was such a good artist but I was HORRIBLE! I should find some old crap stuff from just a few years ago. I think I figured it out by copying other pictures. I learned I'm very good at eye-balling things though I haven't done it in years.

As far as people go... might have something to do that I was skipped from Art I to Art III in high school (and Art II contained the portrait studies). As for college, art wasn't part of my degree, so I only took one class just for fun and I had to get an override just to get into it. It was Drawing I which was pretty much just still lifes and charcoal drawing, which I'd done in high school. So I was awesome at it. XD My professor kept trying to convince me that I was an art major.

hm I see. at my high school you weren't allowed to skip the art classes and ours weren't sectioned off. it was more of art II=drawing/painting and art III=2-d. they were just more advanced classes of each other. I took art I in junior high because I skipped some art classes then. Drawing in college comprised of dumb stuff like drawing cubes and spheres and stuff for most of the semester then the last few assignments being drawing glass bottle, bones, and abstract shapes all of which were cool.

We didn't have art in middle school.=/ But yeah, the reason I got to skip was because I couldn't fit Art II into my schedule. My art teacher was crazy awesome and she was always taking college art classes during the school year, so we would often end up with the same assignments she had recently done. We got to do some pretty cool stuff that way.

One time, we did tile mosaics with quarter inch tiles and we had to bring something in to tile. Wanting to be unique and create something that served a purpose, I tiled a toilet seat. ^^ Blues and greens with celtic knot designs.

you didn't have a beginning course that all 6th graders had to take like band, orchestra, or AMS (art music speech)? I took ams just for art. and then there were 3 more courses we could take in junior high. I didn't have much time in high school to take art so I only took 3 classes, two in my senior year.
oh, I couldn't fit in the classes times because it was during the class period that colorguard was so I got pushed into a class of AP kids one year. that teacher was really awesome. she wasn't too critical of work, but the ap art kids took up a lot of her time so she didn't help those of us that weren't AP.

wow, that sounds cool!!! but...I wouldn't want to sit my butt on that.

so, I was in the middle of coloring a picture and my roommate just turns off the light so she can watch NCIS in the dark. jerk

Nope. I grew up in a very small town (one stoplight when we moved there, two when I left for college), which means a pretty small and overcrowded school. We had very limited course choices and almost no extra curriculars. All three years of middle school there was only one EC hour available which I filled with band (since we had no choir). High school was one EC the first year (band) and two for the following three years (art and band).

Our school only offered three AP courses. History, English, and Calculus. Of course, only seniors could take these and only one would fit into my schedule, so I took AP English.

Ah, I miscommunicated that. I didn't tile the seat, I tiled the lid. So you don't have to sit on it. ^^

.... She can watch tv with the light on.

ah, small towns must do it different than schools that have a big district with lots of schools in it. we didn't have time to take more than one elective when I was in junior high and high school we got 3 by senior year. I never had time to take art with colorguard.

I think its actually unusual to offer AP art since its a huge portfolio of around 50 pieces that has to be sent in rather than a test.

oh, lid, that's much less creepy!!!

I agree. she can, but she likes to sit in the dark with her laptop. I turned on my light because she annoys me. we don't get along at all.

aw! I'm an otherkin I believe is the word. I should have been a cat or was one in a previous life so I'm a bit partial to furry ears.
