i hate that my memory with this series is so spotty. I seriously have never had something that some parts I remember so clear I can still picture the scene and other parts I remember not at all.

it probably is. it gets pretty dark though. I love it. It's very tamora piercey though magic is both a stronger and a lesser influence, if that makes any sense.

a better way to say it would probably be that it is a different type of influence. that is stronger in some ways than the magic in tamora pierce's series, but lesser in a lot of ways.
