That sounds like a cool trip (literally), Jeanne! Also puts Facade's Palin comment in context. Is it a vacation, or...?
Thanks, Kat. :) Just playing the "what can I do without buying anything more" game. I might have to give in and buy a necklace or something, though. :gonk:
Actually, I take it back. Forgot I had one!
(Hm... I dunno...)

Yeah. It provides the touch of blue I need though. Hrm. I may lose this game yet. (But I'm saving for a Blythe cosplay! Eek!)

I had to go buy the raspberry cordial. I needed something this color pink in my hand.
We're going to go see my step-daughter and her kids.
Can't call it a vacation though. We're retired, so we don't get vacations anymore...

In other words, your life is a vacation! Or... something. XD That does sound like fun, though. I'd love to see Alaska before it's all covered in pipelines. ;)

And imagine, the Aurora Borealis. That must be something to see. We have the Northern Lights here, but they're usually, um, cool to see, but not all that colorful.

Well, you do have to be pretty far north to see them, Kat. :) They're worth it, though. Even the faint white ones on the horizon that I've seen over Lake Huron before... They move and change as you watch. The best ones just fill the sky with color, though. I've seen that once, and I'd love to see it again.

 you're so lucky. the closest thing I've seen to that was during the hurricane and all the transformers were blowing and filling the sky with flashes of green and yellow and there was flashes of green lightning. very cool

That actually sounds very cool, Kat. Um, in a destructive fireworks style way. XD I'm so glad we don't get hurricanes up here. Or earthquakes. Thunder storms and tornados, though. And the occasional ice storm. (Those have to be the most beautiful natural disasters ever, though.)

ice storms sound really cool. hurricanes aren't that bad since we're not quite close enough to the coast here. we just get hit every now and then like with Ike. I've never seen a tornado and we'll never get earthquakes here.

I've seen the northern lights in North Dakota.
Even though we've been to Alaska in different times of the year, I've never seen them there.
In July, when we first went, it never really got dark at all. That was really weird.
The next time we went was in the end of November.
I suppose there would have been northern lights then, but it rained the entire time.
Now we're going in end of May. I suspect that we won't see any. I think they're only during the winter months.

Oh, Kat, they're beautiful. Just do a Google image search on them. They can knock out power something awful and generally shut things down for a few days, but wow.
I've never personally seen a tornado, but they do happen here. Not as frequently in Michigan as in some other states, but still...
I've only ever seen them in the summer, Jeanne, if I remember correctly. The ones over the lake were definitely summer. So I'm thinking, it's not that they don't happen, but it's that you can't really see them because it's too light out in the summer when you get farther north?

lol, Cica. I don't know.
Now that I think about it, I think the first time I saw them in ND was during a summer harvest.
But up in Alaska in the summer, since it never really gets dark, I suspect we can't see them.
I'll have to ask my stepdaughter about it.
Bye, Kat.
I guess I'd better go do some chores too. My dryer has been hollaring at me...

And have fun with your chores, Jeanne. (We'll figure out those Northern Lights yet...)

I feel like a fool now. :gonk:
Apparently I confused crap up, and tonight is a graduation party of some girl who I barely even know.
So... Yeah. Looks like I'll be here with you people tonight after all! :D
The girl whose grad party is tonight is the only one from my school who got into UPenn this year. She's smart as hell. And nice, very nice. But I barely know her. :P
And in addition to that, my friend is working tonight and unable to go to the said party. So I'm not crashing a party just to have no one at all to talk to! :gonk:

Yeah... :(
I guess that maybe I was invited to a nonexistent place to begin with! Because when that whole scenario I described to you earlier went down, the kid who invited me was inviting me to the house of a girl who was also in the conversation... I make no sense, but I was basically talking to the both of them. And uh, yeah. Maybe it was a joking, "You want to come to her house on Saturday?" type of thing that was purely a joke.
...Because, being the silly d00d I am, I said something like, "I don't know... I've heard scary things about her house" in response. And then a funny conversation branched off from there.
Blah. Maybe I'm just delusional.

I think there's supposed to be some sort of party after the actual dinner theater, although don't quote me on that! :ninja:
It's on a Thursday night, so it's somewhat debatable. But there's still a chance!
...And there's also a Senior BBQ in the school parking lot this upcoming Friday at 6:30 AM, which I'm so attending. :P
Of course, there may be too many people for me to weave through and socialize with people I wanna get to know better. But I'll try.

Oh, that is cool! That's one thing I regret, actually, never going to cast parties. Granted, I was never cast, and there always seemed to be a bit of... Well, a something, not quite a rift, between actors and backstage people. Not sure what it was. Maybe just my imagination. XD (But I did go to a lock-in or two, so that kind of counts!)
You're lucky about the BBQ. Sounds like fun! I think they cancelled the senior camping party, or whatever it was, because the class before us was unruly. Or something. Go figure. My class was one of the quiet ones.
