Yay for summer! :boogie: My brother still has about three weeks, but as soon as he's out we're gonna be going to the beach as ofter as possible. I still can't believe we're getting temps in the 80's and it's only May.

I don't mind hot weather too much. I just don't like that we can't get to the beach right now. We usually try to get over to Old Orchard as often as possible in the summer.

I've always wanted to live in Maine... I think it might be because I've always had an indescribable love for Stephen King and Louisa May Alcott... Ooh, and Moosehead Lake (...or whatever it's called :gonk: ) has always sounded neat to me. :P ...As has Bangor, but I think that's irrelevant in this conversation. :ninja:

Maybe I should come up there and live eerily nearby! :illgetu:
I contemplated applying to the University of Maine for a teensy bit, but then I got lazy. :P

We typically go down to Wildwood in New Jersey all throughout the year - as early as March, all the way into October. Sometimes even during December and January, though! :o My aunt owns two houses in Wildwood, although since the mortgages are crippling, well... They both might be sold ASAP. :gonk:
We also go to Atlantic City a lot. It's really fun! All of the casinos, bright lights, and fun shopping! :D And don't even get me started on all of the amazing restaurants to eat at... :drool:

I've always had a childhood fascination with Maine. I couldn't tell you why, but I want to at least have a summerhouse there when I'm rich and famous. :drool:

john travolta and other famous people have houses in maine... if you get rich and have a summer house there, let me come visit, eh?
and maine is really nice... if you have money... it's called 'vacationland' for good reason... but to live there and have a regular blue collar job is kinda hard... at least as far as i can see... but lots of people make it work... so come visit me this summer we can go to old orchard and swim in the ocean!

Maine is a pretty nice state. I really wouldn't want to live anywhere else. It can be kinda hard to live here sometimes, but I love it anyway.:)

Well, winter can be really hard if your not doing too well financially. Heating gets really costly and if you don't have a good furnace, you could get into some trouble. Ours actually broke down sometime in February, so we had to use electric heaters for a while. Luckily, the weather started getting warmer earlier this year A lot of the back roads aren't plowed all that well (at least in my area), so it's dangerous to drive even in nice weather. They're also windy and hilly, so I don't even like driving on them during the summer.

Also, our jobs are really scarce right now. My moms been lucky to have one with a really good pay, but I've been searching for six months and still haven't had any luck. My friend almost had one, but she ended up having to be interviewed with another person.

Still, I love my state and I don't plan on leaving if I can avoid it.
