I'd have to say to spend my summer each weekend as part of the Great Lakes Medieval Faire. I volunteer and I am part of cast there. I have so many friends now, it's hard to count. XD

Oh wow, nice. I haven't been to a Ren Fair in forever...I used to do medieval re-enactment. Makes me miss it hardcore now that I think about it.

In my free time though, I'm a volunteer firefighter, and my weekends are tied up with motorcycle flat track racing. Occasionally I'll go down the road and watch the sprint car races, but every time I go I get sucked into it more and more...which isn't a good thing because it takes away from practicing for my next race xD

I do ren faires all the time where I am, and I worked at the Connecticut Ren Faire last fall :3 I am actually in the middle of making a new faery costume from scratch, wings and all <3

Last year was my first. And my name was Lady Lillian. I was lady in waiting to king arthur's court :) This year, we're doing ivanhoe, so I'm a saxon noble -- Rowena's hand maiden and my name is Lady Leola. :) And my boyfriend is Henry Lancaster (hence his username) and he's my character's sweetheart. :P

And it's really Medieval Faire. Medieval and Ren are two completely different decades. :) This is my second year.

^Sounds super cool, Lil, if there is anything I love it's Anglo-Saxon history... I do not like the novel Ivanhoe though, it is pretty anti-semetic.... Granted, it is historically accurate treatment wise, but, still, a hard read when you can't get past all that.

That's awesome Lilly, it's always nice to have a companion during the festivities. I was always more interested in the fighting aspect of it so usually I play a 2 handed sword knight in dull grey armor during the mock wars.

Hey, that's pretty sweet. :) We have The Living Game of Chess where we use real people as chess pieces and there's combat fights. It's really cool.

What Ren Faire was it again Lil?

I go to the King Richards in Mass, the NY Ren Faire, Ct Ren Faire and Southern Ct Ren Festival. I love it. My usual thing is a cross between a gypsy and a fae creature....

I used to go to the Grimfells Ren Fair down south in Arkansas...but now that I'm living up in northern minnesota I don't know where to go for one. :gonk:

Lol, don't be. It's really hard work. :( The sun's really hot when you're in nearly three layers of costume including the armor. With me...I'm in a literally three layers myself. Even during rehearsals...I just want to throw my dress off and jump in the nearest body of water. But I'm used to it by now. The faire opens up July 11th! :D Uuber excited! And yes, it's great to have a companion during the festivities. Ha, that's how I met him. XD <3

I'm kind of lucky with my outfit, it's three layers, but 2 of the three are made out of light material. (Leather and Cloth) Then the last layer is my armor which isn't so bad because I wear light armor. (I don't know why but I don't usually get hit often so I figured why bother with burdening myself with heavy armor lol )
