I had to watch this when I was a TA for the film music history class, and I damned near went down and asked my pothead neighbor if I could bum some off him, it was that dull. I do think it would make a much better film when utterly stoned.

The poor guy who wrote the original score for this film, Alex North, famously wrote the entire thing then had Kubrick decide to go with the temp track music instead. :shock:

It's a ship docking with a space station. That's it. But it's 2001, so the entire film was designed to be watched while tripping out on acid.
