It's 83 here in sunny Rochester, MN.
I finally have really good internet access, and we'll be here for almost 3 weeks, so all is well.

Cica:
I thought she was good on cd, but live??? Words cannot describe how amazing she was. She is such a great story teller on top of her music.... and the mood of it all. oh man. To die for.

The concert before her was Gaelic Storm.... so, it's been a long while since I went to a pop/type popular music concert. Well.... no. My friend dragged me to Mayday Parade... and I went and saw Denvendra Banhart.... but I don't think he counts for pop music at all, lol

Ohh, they locked it down. XD Forgot it ended today.

I can only imagine. I do expect more from folk-type artists, though. I'm not sure why. Maybe it's just that they're more likely to focus on the live music, not the studio. Hm. Oh, I have seen The Chieftains in concert. Also excellent. Folk musicians age better than rockers, I've decided.

But... Ahh, Sheryl Crow is so talented. Multi-instrumentalist, great singer, great performer. It was funny, because, I mean, I was pretty young yet, early teens, and so Mom took me. Mom expected a flash-in-the-pan pop singer and came away impressed. XD

Hey Desi!!! I agree, the skirt is really cute :3

And I bet Sheryl Crow was great!!! and yes... there is something to be said about folk musicians.... nothing is static. I love that. Pop, all the music sounds the same, whether it is live or studio, but with indie or folk artist, I feel like they are always looking for ways of changing their music, or at least, they aren't concerned with cookie cutter results.

So true, Woody. And when you find pop musicians with a folk sensibility, that's fun, too! You end up getting awesome stuck in your head. :) (Sheryl Crow has it. So does KT Tunstall. And Missy Higgins...)

Hi, Linn!

You know, I sort of stopped paying attention to the contests. :gonk: Distracted this week, I guess. Will the winners be posted in the Community Thread, maybe?

I Dunno, I don't think they were done judging last I checked.....

Aww, sorry about your race car woes.... That's no fun. At least you didn't have to race in this heat! Unless, that is, it's cooler where you are.

Right Cica???? Just.....gah. I have that concert on dvd and cd... You should check out more of it if you haven't. Live at the Alahambra
