okay, I wrote a poem for a contest. what do you think?

For long the land lay a'slumber;
silence settling thicker than the fog.
"Now?" they wondered.
Is change coming now?

They did not have long to wait.

The bells, they started distant,
but the sound woke the land instantly.
The first person rose,
then another until they all sat upon the hill.

And what a sight they saw.

Two horses, two riders of stately look.
The land wondered,
oh how they all hoped.
but the riders simply smiled
for they had great plans of change.

The wind whispered one word
one word that brought people to their knees:
"Now."
