Yes I saw the musical first.... cuz I was told by my cousin/best friend to not read it was a 'bad book' when she told me this I forgot to take into account the fact that she's a conservative catholic and extremely modest and considers like making out in movies 'bad.' And after seeing the musical I just couldn't take the way the book was and I'm quite fine with just basing it off the musical.
