But Queen is classic rock! :squee:
...CRAP. Did I forget them on the list!? :gonk:
...Damn. Well, I guess you can have them now.
----------
Oh wait, nope, they're on my list! SO HA. :eager:
...Blah. Figured I'd compile a list for myself to refer to, since people are bound to take most of my choices. :gonk:

KAT, NEXT TIME OPEN THE WINDOW! :gonk:
Bah... Your bathroom reeks. :talk2hand:
And I'm just nagging about artists I want for next week! =3
Although like Linnea said, a lot are going to be taken. Which I really don't care about, honestly... Just needed to get some UK artists down on cyber-paper so I'd remember them, and have a place to refer to. :P
OH OH GUYS.
I'm officially going to college! :'D Got accepted to a little place called Rosemont today.
TOTALLY not my top choice (hell... It's small and really has NOTHING), but hey, it's college!
...I really mean that they have nothing, by the way. The visit there was truly disappointing!
Still have two others to hear back from (I only applied to three), so I'm still far from being off the hook!

I applied to two and got into both. they both also gave me a scholorship and I picked the school that gave me more money and I just love this place. *looks around shyly* now I feel like I'm bragging...

i don't think that is bragging, kat, not at all... it's great you got into a place you love AND it gave you more money... my first choice also had the best financial aid... so i was lucky too

I also applied to the University of Delaware, and Cabrini College. =3
Not entirely sure which of those is my first choice, to be quite honest!
I sincerely LOVE both! It comes down to the money they give me, really!
UDel is cheaper by $10,000 (even though I'm out-of-state... go figure!), although Cabrini is a ten-minute drive from home!
If worst comes to worst, I can always commute to Cabrini. But my main goal is to NOT live at home! I'd go nuts living at home and going to college. :gonk:
Anyway, Cabrini is excellent because they have this thing called Social Justice Journalism. I personally hate journalism, but the fact that they have this certain type intrigues me... They have these annual trips to underdeveloped countries; a few years back they had this trip to Ecuador, and they had to live like the locals: that is, they lived off of $1 a day!! I thought that was so amazing to hear about...
I want to get involved in helping the less-fortunate later in life. I don't necessarily want to make a career out of it (I'd rather make my millions, then spend my years traveling and helping the world, donating both time AND money), but I want to help others. I have this inexplicable need to help others in me. I just hate the state the world is in, and I hate to see people suffering. And people who bitch and moan about people like Oprah who would rather build a school in Africa than give a school to some spoiled, fat American kids tend to get on my nerves.
Bleh. But I'm bitter like that! This is why I'm an eighty-year-old lady trapped in a seventeen-year-old boy's body! :gonk:

yes linn, its my first year.
I love to go our and help people. I went on a mission trip last year and will do it again this summer. we don't go far though. Its really great to help as well as learn about the situation our world is in.
and um, the old lady in a boy's body is a kinda creepy image....

wow facade, that is quite the future plan... i admire it though... it seems you know what you want and are on your way to getting it... i wish i was even half as clear with my future plans as you seem to be about yours...
i agree with you about peoples priorities here in the states when so much help is needed elsewhere... i think the world needs more people like you who are working hard to make a change...
i wish you lots of luck getting into both schools... it's never a bad thing when you have to decide between two places you love, then having to choose the lesser of two evils... you know what i mean...
you too, kat... wow, mission trips? you guys are so great! i feel so inadequate lol... but anyways, i think in most cases, college gets a little easier when you get over the first year hump... when you start taking classes that are more focused on your major and no more boring core classes... i always hated those... plus you there are some pretty neat electives out there too

-strikes a pose-
I'M GORGEOUS, AREN'T I KAT? ;D
----------
And ugh, I'm gonna HATE the core classes!
I've been doing core crap for the past eleven years! You'd think this would end. :gonk:
Blah. I'm still unsure what I wanna do, although I'll probably end up majoring in Communications. xP
Probably a minor in French, or perhaps Linguistics overall... I'd like to learn more than one language.
----------
I've got it all planned out, Linnea! I'll travel 'round the world until I'm 40, and then finally slow it down a bit!
Actually, we'll see how things turn up. To be honest, I hate planning and scheduling, so we'll see where my aspirations get me!
If I shoot for the stars but end up at least halfway there, I'd be content. ;)

i majored in communications :D i had a humanities minor though... i got most of my core classes done as soon as i could... so i could have more fun and smaller classes doing stuff related to my major... my last 2 years i had classes at the radio station so it was lots of fun...
i'd love to travel all over till i'm middle aged too... i like doing it now, i have just kept it in the US mostly (with the exception of canada), but i guess it really isn't traveling unless you get over seas.... where do you want to go???

the classes for my major are the ones I hate and are killing me!!! :gonk:
I'm seriously starting to hate art and thinking of changing my major away from it. the classes are sucking all the fun out of it and the life out of me.
*pats facade* its great to have plans, but I realize they change. youth is a fickle thing! some ideas just don't last.

well, I've already taken all the required classes for my major, so hopefully it will get better, but I might have to switch my major and minor (art and writing) I've also taken almost all of my core classes now except computer and foreign language.

@Kat: I've heard HORROR stories about majoring in art.
I know some people who go to the University of the Arts here in Philadelphia, and they know of cases where people cannot take the unending criticism and end up dying inside... UArts generally accepts TONS of people (as long as you have at least an INKLING of talent), but the classes dwindle down to very little. I know there was this one senior pottery class that had three people in it! Nuts, just nuts.
Linnea, I want to travel everywhere!
Peru, India, The Ivory Coast, Senegal, South Africa, Morocco, Spain... I wanted to visit Haiti, but I guess now it would be on an extremer level of helping people than I personally plan on. I'd never see myself capable of handling such scary situations as what they've been going through - I'd rather help people one-on-one rather than watch their families turn up dead, and watch their level of poverty become even worse. But I'd still visit Haiti in a heartbeat! Um, where was I? Most of South America, and most of the rest of Africa that I've failed to mention. I'm extremely interested by African/South American/Hispanic cultures! Which you'd hardly realize, my being in French V and all.
