a dream hunter is a being who goes into people's dreams to help heal them if they are greatly wounded and/or to help guide them to their destinies and such... also called oneroi
annnnyways... a skoti is like a ronin dream hunter that gets attached to a dreamer because they dream very vividly, since the oneroi don't have emotions (that's a long story) they feel them through the dream, so they continue to suck the emotions, and essentially the energy and life, out of the dreamer and thus either driving them insane or killing them...

and that might be a good plan, wulf... maybe he'll come back to me!

omg a skoti sounds kinda like one of my ideas. except mine are dream wanderers beautiful creatures that appear good but honestly feed on the souls of human beings through their dreams
