They can have rabies.... So most ppl that handle them wear gloves. I believe their guano (poop!) is more dangerous (in large quantities) than they are cause it can cause respiratory issues.

it is but it actually makes my town one of the safest college towns. we are in the top ten safest colleges in the nations and we have about 8 prison within 20 miles of us

I can imagine that does make it safe, Wings. Ours was pretty safe too, they have a really good security system/boxes/ it's Vermont, how dangerous can it get? There was only one incident, and it was just before I transferred there. A girl was walking from downtown back to campus (like a mile walk) and was picked up by a guy who eventually killed her. Sad story. Made everyone super paranoid obviously.

wow, woody! my campus is safe too. someone got robbed and everyone was really really surprised. its well lit and small and the security is good.

yes, there's a bridge in the city that all the bats roost under and fly out at night in spring or whatever season. should be spring

That is too bad about the rape! Ug, that is the worst, I was listening to a thing about that and college campuses on NPR at work tonight....

My friend almost got raped at her school, during break. Some guy broke into her room and tried to shove his sock in her mouth and held her down on the bed. She put up such a fuss, that he finally gave up and ran away. He left his hoodie behind,so they know it was a student (school hoodie, etc) but they never found out who. Best they could do was relocate her..... *sigh*

Colleges do what they can to be safe... There are creepers everywhere sadly.

@Tegan >> yah, don't get scared off. Security is usually uber super tight at school. We had doors and doors with different swipe cards to just get into a buildings! They are a magnet for stuff sometimes just because ppl get careless and a bit too tipsy at times so, things happens....

And I mean uber secure! lol, I had to wait a hour one day to get in when I lost my swipe card when no one was around!
