What do you drive? Is it a dirt track?

here is one it was taken last year, but the car is still the same, plus a few dents :P
and this is me in the car getting ready for a practice!

it's not a dirt track anymore, although it was back in the 80's
this car is a 78 pontiac lemans... my dad built it from the shell :)

i race in a division called the mad bombers and i am the only girl... so it's not called late model, but it the cars have to be a certain year, yea... most of them are old monte carlos, regals, or things like that... for the past few years we could even have the older cameros, which isn't entirely fair since they are significantly lighter than a lot of the other cars, but anyways...
i had a car before this when i raced with just girls, and it was an 88 buick regal :)

my dad and his brother, my uncle, used to race for a lot of years... my younger cousin races too and this year my other cousin, who you know as sara lee cupcake is racing this coming summer! it's a family affair!

The Uncle owns a body shop, and sponsers himself, his niece, and another Choerner that I don't know the relationship...

Do you race every weekend?

yea that's kind of how it is here... my dad and uncle got into racing when they were teenagers and then when they finished school my dad went to a technical college to be a mechanic and my uncle learned more of the businessy stuff so they could open their own garage... my dad taught my uncle what he learned in school and we had a family owned and operated garage... my cousins and i would pump gas in the summer and during school breaks lol man, looking back i hated that job :P mostly in the winter!!

but the night i race is more for people who don't want to spend a lot of money so it's on a thursday and called thursday thunder, but the rules are to have a mostly stock car, so it's street tires and things... on saturday nights is 'nascar night' and those are the race cars, they have the racing tires and bigger motors etc etc... also costs a lot more to run... we just keep it simple and have some fun

They have a lower cost race here too, with OLD stock cars.
They call it the Grand stock. The winner has to sell his car for 1K to anybody if they want it...so they keep changing owners all the time.

It's usually pretty hysterical to watch. The do a LOT of bumping and banging. They blow their horns...lol. One guy has a chandelier hanging in his car...

sell it for 1k? so yea, that probably helps keep people from dumping too much money into them... and there are horns in them? hahaha and even a chandelier? that's kind of awesome!

At the beginning of the season, the cars look so great.

By the end of the season they're all dented and marred...

this past summer and the one before i raced with more veteran drivers so they are good at getting out of binds, so i learned a lot from them... my car managed alright for the most part... nothing a hammer can't bang out ;)

I would guess driving with more veteran drivers would teach you a lot.

I'm in a strange mood. I'm experimenting with my food/drink partly out of boredom, partly out of procrastination of the things I actually need to do.

mmm i love smarties... and tea sounds good but it's too late to go make it... besides i'm lazy

a pile of smarties was left over from my mom's halloween candy so I commandeered them all. there's only one package left now.

this year, I've learned that I can write very fast. I usually do my nano writing for each day in the hour before midnight.
