That's kind of the way I tend to do avies....I like different shades of the same colors.
It's pleasing to my eye, but not that interesting for others.

I think it depends on if their values are different. you have different shades of blue on, but if it were black and white, they'd blend together and be the same color. that's what I mean by same value.

I should study more about color values.

I'm trying to pick out our kitchen colors so they don't clash with the cabinet colors. It's hard to do!
