Joss Whedon is a writer/director/creator that is known for killing off well loved characters.
Nice Pearl! I'm massively jealous! I was asked to take scuba lessons with a friend, but I didn't wanna commute to Mass for them. And I know that it's not as necessary to drive in some areas in GB......Were you a city dweller? Man, I could NOT live without my car. Not that it's a good car..... I just like getting places.

Scuba diving was amazing. Summer 2010 my parents booked an incredible holiday to America, including Hawaii, so all of us (except my Dad) were going to dive.
We did an intensive one weekend pool-diving course in England, and then we completed the 'open water' section in Hawaii.
It was the most incredible thing - a giant turtle swam above me. I couldn't help but gasp.
The month after that vacation, I did a budget break in Turkey with some friends, and I went diving again (full of newly-qualified zeal) but it wasn't quite as good - the water wasn't as clear and there weren't many fish.
At home and in London I don't really need a car, but still it's definitely useful for the times when you need to go out of town, to shopping malls or cinemas or theme parks or even the beach.
But most of the time a car is unnecessary. Public transport is expensive, but so is a car.

I haven't been scuba diving for years now.
We used to go to Grand Cayman every summer. Sometimes to Belize or Bonaire or Cancun.
But now the reefs are being bleached by the higher temps, and the fish aren't as plentiful. The diving just isn't as pristine as it used to be...

Yaaaah, London and cars do not go hand in hand. I guess should you really need/want to drive, you can learn though :) Man, I love/ miss London. I need to explore that city more
And I never had to take drivers ed. Now it's required though. Muahahaha.
I had a sea turtle dive around me too in Barbados!!! He also tried to swim THROUGH me to get to the surface XD But I wasn't diving, just snorkling off a ship wreck in 20 ft of water. So it was dive -able without the scuba gear.
And how lame is it that my brother didn't take the job that was offered to him in Hawaii? I could have visited him there/ stayed with him for a while!

My first drivers test consisted of driving around a block.
That was all...
The cop knew my Dad, and said that if he had taught me, then I was probably OK.

Yah, I had to drive around the block, back in to park, and then took the silly test. I looked over the book briefly the night before. :P
And right? curse him for not moving further away! He also got a job offer in northern washington state, then in cali....but he might just stay in portland. thats cool with me, cause I love portland, and it's still a sweet trip getting to fly across the country to visit him

its easy when there's no other car around to hit! >.<
I rather liked Toronto when I visited.
why is it that absolutely no one understands the difference between a comma and semi colon? all these creative writing majors don't know the meaning of grammar! seriously.

but then again kat, sometimes the semi colon and colon can be used for pretty much the same thing so.....when in doubt, don't use it at all!!!!!!!
I've not been to Toronto yet, but I've been to Quebec and Montreal a few times :)
I hate parallel parking too! I'm so glad they didn't include that on my test.

A semi-colon separates two complete clauses... or something.

no, there's a difference between how you use colons and semicolons. they're very different. but I said comma.
I've also been to montreal. the botanical garden there is like pure love!
but seriously, I would rather stab myself with this pencil than finish reading this short story. I've read some pretty painfully horrible stuff this semester. not just because of grammar too. They're just bad stories written in a boring style. I don't like this particular writer's stuff at all. he hasn't improved since last semester. actually....did he get worse!? :gonk:

Sometimes, the types of uses go for either though. And I didn't read that as coma, I apparently am too tired to read correctly.
Yes! I missed the garden last time since it was downpouring. It's too bad since it was right near the Biodome (which is what we went to see).
Can you just skim it?
I am off, I need my sleep after todays feasting and frippery so I can go to work tomorrow bright eyed and bushy tailed awake Happy Easter again!

no, they really shouldn't be used interchangeably. I took a grammar class a year ago.
I can't skim because I have to write a critique on it.
