it was really nice. I liked hearing him read the poems much more than reading them myself. poetry is such an oral tradition.

I think they have a poetry read here once a month. I've never been to one, but I bet that there are some interesting things. THough, I do have one friend who always wants me to read her stuff but it's so dark and depressing I don't even like hearing it... I mean, she's a great writer I just wish that she had something a little happier to write about =.=

oi, there's barely any point in being an artist if you just write happy. no one would want to hear it.

But she just writes heart broken. Non-stop. 24/7 it's like her heart is crushed every single day. It gets annoying.

hm. but sometimes that's the only muse you got. my best poems are about depression, suicide, and cutting.

I guess. I just don't really fancy to read that often because it depresses me. I don't know how you can write it without being depresed either... but she was/is.

neh, since my way of feeling emotions is weird, persona poems are easiest to me. I have no deep emotion of my own to write about, so it's easy to steal other's happy or depressing feelings and not be bothered by it.

That's interesting. O_O Stealing other people's emotions and writing about them...

I guess. but persona poems are a pretty well known thing.

Yeah. I... don't really get into poetry so much. Maybe way back in HS... all moody and dark and stuff. But I grew out of it I guess.
