today is my day off... i want to have a couch potato type of day and i've earned it

but ice skating is going well and come to find out, i stop better with one foot than i do both... seems kinda backwards to me but whatevs i still fall down some times and i totally do a run-skate kinda thing to pick up pace and apparently it makes me look like a goon or so my friend says :P i fell down only one today but it was a good one and the bruise on my knee is pretty yucky looking... sorta bloody veiny ish... but my balance is getting better and i'm feeling more confident which is nice... i have pretty crappy balance anyways because i've always been tall and gangly with big feet and super clumsy so i hope this makes me more graceful...... pffffthahahaha yea i'll believe that when i see it

i think i'd need to be out there more than once a week. it's so weird, every time i go out there at first it's like i totally forgot how to do it so after about twenty minutes i'm back to where i was so it feels a lot like taking a two steps forward and three steps back a lot of the times... but i am determined and the rink is open all year long but for six weeks in the summer i think my friend said so i'll just keep trying and keep getting bruises and someday, hopefully before i'm an old lady and have bones so weak i'd break a hip if i fell, i'll be good!

yeah, sounds like you need to go more often, but once a week really isn't that bad. just keep it up!

i went skating again today! we went to a pond this time and it was so much fun... until it started to snow -_-

that does sound lovely. it's rainy and windy here. not much better than snow.

some jerk walked over the pond when it was warm so when it got cold again it made bumpy feet prints all over the place and those were the cause of me wiping out a few times.... err lots of times :P

i think i'm not as nervous about falling down when i'm on a pond then when i'm at the ice arena... not sure what it is but it's like... i feel like i have more fun and just goofing off and i can fall down with out having to worry about someone slicing my jugular and then i die bleeding all over the ice

I don't know the temp, but it is winter. its not been in the negatives here for a few weeks.

oh i didn't mean to do that! make you paranoid that is. my friend and i were talking and it seems that a kid died because another kid couldn't stop and ran over his neck with the skate. this just seems more likely to happen when there are more people so it makes it harder to goof off... at the pond however there was like six other people and it was huge! soooo less likely to diiiiiiie!

I guess its different here in texas because the ice skating rink wasn't that popular. there were days when there were a lot of people, but not so many. usually not too many smaller kids either. adults and preteens-teen.

maybe it's because i go on sundays...? people just seem to come out of the wood work on sundays like they bring the whole damn family and there are little kids falling down left and right, which makes me scared to goof off because i don't wanna take out a little kid... i've heard there are less people when you go during the week because it is during the day but that means i'd have to go by myself... and i think it's more fun with another person or two

I don't think it would be very fun by yourself. I never do things like by myself. I go everywhere with wingsy for the most part. haha, i used to hang out with other people, but now it's just her really.

i don't mind doing some things by myself, in fact, i like it some times but when it's a fun activity it's definitely more fun to do it with someone else

never? I don't know what would really count. I've never gone to the movies, skating rink, or plaster painting studio by myself. I've gone to camp by myself for girl scouts and such? so...junior high? oh, I did the second mission without my younger brother so two or three years ago, whenever that was.

i have only been to the movies once by myself and that was because the friend i was going with bailed on me and i really wanted to see it so i just went. i go out to eat by myself sometimes but it's pretty much only to this one vietnamese place because i love love love it there... i go shopping by myself (the grocery kind and not grocery kind)... i would still go to hockey games by myself if i had to because i love hockey and i think i would probably go skating by myself too but my friend always is there to go with me... i don't go to bars by myself because i don't like being accosted and those are the only places i really ever go lol
