I guess. but I've read stories taking place with the underground railroad or stories where a modern day girl gets sent into the past. I think it's interesting even if it's not 100% accurate.

I'm sure they do. but some of those stories don't use any specific facts so much as just showing the type of world it was then. entirely fictional characters and events.

But the "world" should be realistic, and non-fiction, if they're trying to make it a fictional docu-drama sort of thing.
