Geographic information systems, in a nutshell, are computerized mapping systems that use databases with spatial data. Article!. They're pretty cool. And useful.
Pop culture... Oh! I left out music, didn't I? I'm more of a '90s girl, at least when it comes to music, though the '60s and '70s are awesome, too. But lately it's been '90s and current pop singer-songwriters, mostly of the female persuasion. (KT Tunstall! Who I know you like!) Being a traveling foodie sounds like fun, too.

Yeah, if I ever need to use one of those geographical thingies, I'll come to you then.
My mind is too unscientific to even begin trying to comprehend! :gonk:
Probably doesn't help that I only glanced at the linked wiki article... ._.;
I LOVE female artists! That's the easiest way to sum up my music library...
Who are some of your favorites? =3

Facade, if you've ever used Google Maps, or MapQuest, or something like that, you've used a geographic information system. As an end-user, but still... :p
Well, I've been listening to a lot of Tasmin Archer and Heather Nova lately. (I posted some of their videos here last night, even.) I'll always have a special place in my heart for the likes of Sheryl Crow (who is great in concert, by the way), and Sophie B. Hawkins (who taught me, way back when, that pop music does not all suck.) Ditto for Sarah McLachlan, and while I don't have any of their albums (yet), Tracy Chapman, Natalie Merchant, Paula Cole, Shawn Colvin, Lisa Loeb... Anyone who makes me feel nostalgic for high school, really. XD As far as current artists go, Missy Higgins and Amy MacDonald are right up there with Tunstall. How about you?

Ooh, I saw Sheryl Crow live on TV four or five months ago... :o She was absolutely fantastic, and that was only semi-live!
Sarah MacLachlan's good too, as are Missy Higgins and Amy MacDonald!!
The others I haven't heard of.
But I'm surprised you know who Missy Higgins and Amy MacDonald are. :) I feel like no one else I meet knows of them! xD
My tastes are... really spread out. ._.; Regina Spektor, Alanis Morissette, Vanessa Carlton, Imogen Heap, Siouxsie, Sara Bareilles, Charlotte Martin, Cher, Lily Allen, Kylie Minogue, Ingrid Michaelson, Adele, Vienna Teng, Rachael Yamagata, Nerina Pallot, Poe, Noisettes, Cyndi Lauper, Kate Bush, Aimee Mann, Pat Benatar, PJ Harvey, Metric, Kate Nash, Goldfrapp, Annie Lennox, Feist, Kate Havnevik... And of course, Judy Garland.
...And that's the condensed list. I fail at summarizing, as you can tell.
 I bet you don't like most of my list! :P
Ooh, and figures it'd be something like MapQuest/Google Maps! That was my first guess, but I was afraid of sounding stupid. D:

O_O this thread had gotten way too wordy for me in my inebriated state to really put any effort into reading what it says. After I got into Facade's interests I became uninterested. Not because it didn't have me on the edge oof my seat but because the beer was so much easier to understand in such a state as mine... Just pop the top and it's done. Facade.... You're like... a dictionary in detention right now. -__- I just con'e focus on it when my friends are running around and playing outside!

LOL, Zephi! Go chase your friends around then! :P
Am I really that wordy?
I guess my brain just doesn't shut up and edit. ._.; That's always my biggest issue.

@Facade: Well, Pandora is a wonderful thing. Gotta love internet radio -- it introduces you to some awesome artists you'd never have heard of otherwise. Alanis is definitely a nostalgia artist for me, though. I do like Kate Nash, and Lily Allen and PJ Harvey have the potential to really grow on me, though I haven't really listened to much of them yet. Let's see... Feist is excellent. Aimee Mann, Ingrid Michaelson, Imogen Heap, Sara Bareilles, and probably Ingrid Michaelson are also artists I haven't quite gotten to yet, but mean to. Aside from the '80s artists and Cher... the rest of the list I don't quite recognize, but... :)
Oh, do you like Joni Mitchell at all, or Joan Baez?

@Cica: I use Last.fm, which I hear is similar to Pandora!
So naturally, my tastes have totally evolved from using it! =3
Ooh, I know of Joni Mitchell! :) I don't listen to her all that much, though.
She's one of those artists I've never really gotten around to listening to all that much.
Never heard of Joan Baez. :o
I'm definitely looking up half of the list you mentioned earlier, though. When I get around to it. xD

@Facade: I use Last.fm, too, though I haven't hit internet radio in general much lately. This is my LastFM.. Haven't actually looked at my scrobble results recently. Hmm.. (I will listen to certain songs on repeat sometimes. No idea why.) I'll have to check out a lot of your list, too, particularly the ones I've never heard of. :)

Yay for list-swapping, then! =D
I may just add all of those artists to my library now, actually. My scrobbler seems to be broken, since I always listen to the same damn crap. :( Which means I have to hit the skip button more than needed.

Sharing music is fun! (Well, not necessarily in a piraty way. You know what I mean.) I usually scrobble from my iTunes. It works. :) I usually listen to the same thing, too. And I listen to music at work, which means some days it's the same album on repeat for about eight hours.
I shall have to listen to your library.

Hrm, I can't remember how to make it so that what I listen to on Last.FM is automatically added to my recently played list. I think I turned that off somehow. Heh, and Zephi is right about "scrobble." XD

I can't cook. Dx
@Cica: No clue. ._.; I usually just listen to my own library... I've never actually listened to other people's stuff. I make no sense, but I have no clue what you're talking about. xD; So I'm assuming it involves other people's libraries?

No, it's just not adding tracks I just listened to to my recently listened list. Which is weird. (Oh, never mind, I found a special button that turns on scrobbling. We're good now.)
