Not quiet here! We painted the living room yesterday and today! I looks a lot better and feels more like home now. I mean we got used to the yucky green, but my sunshine happy yellow makes it more welcoming in here. I really like it. I do need to get some different color flowers for the vases on my mantle now, maybe like a lavender, a pink and light blue.

We'd like to paint our living room and put in hard wood floors, but the logistics of it make us keep delaying.

In the entry, it goes all the way up to the 2nd floor, so we'd need some sort of scaffolding to get that high up and paint.

Also, we'd have to do the dining room at the same time (to put the floors in there), and I have a baby grand piano in there.
It needs special movers to come and move that. You can't just roll or drag it on the floor...the legs would break off. My hubby was as mover during high school, so he knows all about them and what's required. Mostly big burly men...

Sounds like a difficult situation....

I didn't know that piano legs were so weak.

I would only get carpet if I didn't have animals.

yeah i plan on taking it all out, there is hard wood underneath it, and looks like it's been varnished from where i've pulled the carpeting back. then maybe get some area rugs for where the couch and chair are, maybe by our bed in our room. would look so nice. hubby just protests all the time because he like carpeting better. but why keep it when it's dirty and stinky? how do we know that's not what is making us sick all the time? i mean the people before us had like five dogs and i'm sure they peed on the floor too. we even found poo messes in some of the cabinets. >.<

Oh wow, that's disgusting i would definite pull up all the carpeting then. Area rugs are so much nicer that you can pull up and and take them to get cleaned professionally or if they get peed on you can tell if you clean it all the way. and if there is a rug your dogs like to pee on you can throw it out. Then again that's just my idea on it.

yeah i agree. i dunno what the big deal is. i mean when we don't have anymore animals i'll let him put carpeting back in, as long as he doesn't get anymore cats. >.< he seems to think carpet is easier to clean.

that's because he probably doesn't know you should deep clean once a month if you have carpeting and animals.

Yeah, I don't think his dad taught him very much, maybe his dad doesn't know himself. I dunno, but they act like they are know it all, but really know nothing at all. >.<

If I remember, but you can only shampoo so much to get cat pee out, i think it's in the padding and possibly in the wood. >.<;

then that's bad, and yes i know there is only so much you can do for cat pee, which is why i don't want carpeting if i have animals xD

actually taking up carpeting isn't too hard, it's the tack strips that is dangerous
