To my father, I am my report card, my potential income, and nothing more. The only time he ever cares about what's going on in my life is when it has to do with school or "where I'm going with my life"... because the liberal arts aren't a good set of professions, didn't you know?

Yeah... he and I... loathe each other, to say the least. Abusive -- physically, mentally, sexually, spiritually, verbally, etc -- and yeah... I'm strong-willed. We don't get along at all. But it still hurts when he pulls this crap.
