So I just had a nap and had a bad dream in it. I dreamed that my mom was here visiting and it was her, me one of my kids and our dog here. IDK where everyone else was. But my mom went outside so my kid wanted to go, then I took the dog out for a walk. My mom came back inside so my kid went in too. I was going up the stairs into an appartment we don't and never have lived in (irl) and saw a plane that was really low. I said, "wow, that plane is really low." Three seconds later it crashes into the bottom of a building/the ground right next to us. I look out the window and we are in a city somewhere. The plane is burning and then two Apaches come up around it (military helicopters) and a big helicopter that the military uses for a traveling hospital when they have too many people to care for at once. They come and load up with the Apaches around them blocking the sight from where our apartment is. Then some guy is staying in our apartment and I try to show them what's going on and just as we are getting to the windows the helicopters fly away and then there is basically nothing left og the big, commercial airline plane. They don't believe me that anything happened. It's weird. I'm asking, where is the rest of the plane. There is no fire and only a few pieces of trash looking things on the street, that's all.
So later, my husband is driving, i don't know where we are driving from or where he is driving but we are going "the scenic route" and there are a bunch of Amish people all over the road going in both directions and their carts are being pulled by really odd things, like one was pulled by a huge rabbit. The others were horse/rabbit mixes but they really just looked like donkeys with whiskers and bunny tails. Anyway, we end up going around this mountain road that is so narrow, and it's supposed to be closed off for cars because they put an obstacle course on the path for some reason. My husband keeps going and carries the car over the obstacles. When I catch up with him at the end, I ask him why the heck he would want to come this way in the first place. He says that he didn't know that there was an obstacle course today (but he knows that I'm terrified of other people driving in the mountains XD, jerk!)
So then we are at a fleamarket or a gym, it's both but neither because it's closing. There is one book stand open and Nik is running around by himself for some reason. The person at the stand hands me a list of all the books they havfe and for some reason in the Eragon series there are 8 books. But the 4th through 8th are just called, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. Weird. Then Nik is running around. Something about a puppet show and a boss that I hated in the military is there. And then I have to pee and I realize that I've been in this bathroom before. Not recently but before and it's then one of those bathroom nightmares where there are no stalls, just toilets side by side. The sad thing is that I've been in a bathroom that was like this in the military. No privacy. T^T Anyway, the people cleaning keep trying to turn the lights off on me, and to make matters worse, there are mirrors all along the walls like in a gym so no matter how much you don't want to pay attention to other people who might be sitting on the toilet near you, anywhere you look you will see them. Ugh. Anyway, then I woke up.

My last job was as a guard in detroipolis. Lots of my dreams r about that, but not like it was.
More like a rob zombie version.
They aren't nightmares, just really busy/intense.

I can say that the more that I go to my therapist to work through things with her - the bad dreams that keep me up at night, don't come nearly as often. <3

That'd really great livi! I'm so happy for you. Bad dreams, ruin your day from the start. I'm so glad that you're getting help :)
So I had an odd dream. I don't remember all of it but my husband and kids and I were all in this building. It was like a high apartment but it had a really big lake with rocks in it. We were watching movies and then my husband wanted to go swim in the lake... to be honest it looked like some kind of toxic lake but he went swimming anyway. We were watching him from the 3rd or 4th story so we could see things that he couldn't see. As he swam towards on of the rocks in the middle, a giant turtle swam up towards him from the bottom. The turtle was something like a box turtle but it's she'll was kind of flat looking. The turtle swam up and nudged him and he freaked out. He was on the rocks and I was down by the water trying to get the attention of the turtle because it was trying to bite him now. So the turtle saw me and I started to run, but it wasn't that fast of a turtle... at first. All of a sudden it got a burst of speed and was almost on top of me. I dove behind a ladder that was on the side of the apartment and wedged myself down the narrow alley. While the turtle was stuck I blew some dust on it and did some kind of spell because the turtle started to transform right there. Eventually, it took a while, the turtle turned into a little girl. A curse had been put on her a long long time ago. She used to be a normal, tiny turtle, but she just kept growing over the years.
All I remember of the rest of the dream was me telling people what happened and how big the turtle was over and over.
Seems these dreams where I tell people what happened in the dream earlier are usually the only ones that I remember.

I'm finally able to admit that I do need help and I've stopped fighting it - just years later. Better late than never, yeah?
Trying to stay up with kids during the day after a sleepless night is no fun (I'd usually keep myself awake than fall asleep and get tortured by the dreams). I know I need help and at least I finally found a therapist who I mesh with, for once.
Oh that does sound like an odd dream!

They've been tortured since losing Oliver - at least I'm to the point where they don't plague me nearly as badly. It's only taken me 8 years to fully admit that I need help.

8 years is nothing Liv, when it comes to a loss of that caliber.
I had another odd dream last night, I again, don't remember all of it but I will write out what I remember.
I was taken, captured really by this kind of society where they do a brain scan on you and learn what your hidden potential is so that you get the perfect job for your set of talents. It is supposed to be a perfect world where everyone is happy but they keep you drugged the whole time and you don't get to have a choice anymore. I wanted to get away because they were using people who were good at fighting to capture or kill everyone who didn't come along g with them, the rebels. My family was still out there, away from this broken perfect place. So I found out when they were drugging us and I began avoiding those things (they were so obvious in the dream though, like the water would have an undisolved pill in it lol) and they gave you some time outside in a courtyard where I had found a place to hide all the meds I wasn't taking, I'm not exactly sure but I think my plan was to drug the guards with the meds they were giving us and then make a break for it. I had just lured a guard close enough to attack him and shove a pill in his mouth when I woke up. I so would have gotten free lol

I'm liking this dystopian dream zephi. I've have a lot of dreams of that sort.
I have been remembering quite a few dreams lately, but I've been too lazy to write them down. I had a really good one a few nights ago so I'll leave a little summary of it.
Basically, the main character (I shall use the I pronoun though it's unclear who this character was or their gender) wanders into this kind of portal which is to the magical world and it's rather halloween set up. At first it's empty, but if you're meant to be there, you get past the illusion and a party was going on and there were so many strange people who didn't realize I didn't belong and it freaked me the hell out. I ended up running and found a room where I met my father who explained I was born here and sent to live in the human world (apparently this was my choice somehow though I was too young to remember it). I was able to find the portal again because the amount of years agreed on before had now passed and I have a choice to stay or be human.
Troubled an unsure, I leave again and end up going through a test that proves I'm worthy of this realm and I reenter the town. There I meet two girls who are working a little shop stand thing. There's an argument going on with a customer and while I'm just standing there, reeling, I notice he's gonna pull a knife. I can see the one girl is armed and so ready, but I just knock the customer away and he loses his weapon so that's over with. In thanks, the girls perform some kind of ritual. I'm still clueless as hell so I don't realize what it is.
later it's explained that this is the result of me 'pinging' which was a sort of mental broadcast and this world existed on a sort of soulmate(??) system, not that sealing things with the ritual was necessary romantic, but it is a for life, loyalty, devoted sort of thing and now the three of us are like that and (their father? Mine?) had a talking to me about it and I proclaimed myself serious despite being clueless because there was a draw and I was 'pinging' for a reason.

the past two days i've dreamed about my old college in some way. it's weird.
the first one i was standing on the third floor looking out a window into the parking lot in the old freshman dorm i lived in. there were two guys outside horsing around and they didn't see me no matter if i banged or yelled.
the second, from last night, it was sort of that weird half asleep feeling like i was laying in my bed from my sophomore year and looking over at my roommates bed who wasn't there. the light from the moon and the quad was coming in through the window next to my bed. i remember thinking this is wrong because i don't live there anymore and it must be a dream but nothing happened.
i wonder if i'll dream of junior year tonight

It would be interesting if you did, Linn. I dream of schoolish things fairly often. More than half the time, I'm aware I've already graduated or I'm doing high school stuff after college and I know it. It's all quite strange.

yeah. It's not terrible or anything, but I wouldn't say my dreams are often infused with longing unless it's on a very subconscious level. I do think it would be fun to take all the good classes again though.
