Bel'isse waved off her apologies, "I'm the one who allowed himself to be sent over here." He glanced around the area, trying to spot anything recognizable. Just snow, he knew snow all too well. He slipped off the amulet holding it out to the elf. "I was asked to deliver this to you. I just hope I can be of some assistance to you."

She stood slowly, then nodded, but did not take it. "Please, my Prince, keep it. You may need it more then I, until my work is done here." She sneezed again, then frowned. "Besides, perhaps it is best if you wore it when we attempt to escape. I'd rather not lose it upon our return, it took Master Avariss so long to make it." She looked around, at the field around them. "It reminds me of my homeland, but no houses." She looked towards some smoke in the distance. "I think that is where we must go."

Bel'isse re-clasped the amulet around his neck, hiding it beneath his tunic. "I shall hold onto it then." His eyes followed her's to the smoke. That could be either good or bad. It put him on edge. He followed her lead, trudging through the snow like an expert. "If I may ask, what are we trying to accomplish? I don't want to end up inadvertently messing up your mission in anyway." He rubbed his hands together faintly, wishing he had brought his cloak or gloves.

She nodded as they walked through the field. "A fair question, my Prince. As you are aware, people have been disappearing in the Castle. Master Avariss felt whatever it was had found a slit into our world from another plane of existence. A Magical riff, if you will. He found where he thought it was, and copied the power from that slit into this amulet." She looked back at his chest. "Well, attuned it to it, I should say. Anyway, we planned for me to go through and kill whatever had taken them, and see if we couldn't bring them back. Then, once we.... I had found them, I would return, and we would seal the portal." She looked forward again. "I am sorry, my Prince, for dragging you into this. I will no doubt be exposed to great danger, so if you wish to help me, do nothing that would expose you to unnecessary risk." Even with the cold now reddening her cheeks, it was easy to see she was blushing. "I am sworn to protect you, my Prince, and have been long before I met you. This is something I will do at cost of my life. However, if I die, you will be trapped here, and I do not want that either." She stopped, and turned to him. "So please, let me handle any danger, and stay well back if we encounter what it is that has been raiding the castle. Do you understand?"

The Prince couldn't help the small smile he felt creeping up on him. Her embarrassment at her being sworn to protect him was a bit amusing. He never was told something like that often, but it was always inferred by the King. Biting his bottom lip, he returned his attentions to the whole basis of conversation.

Bel'isse knew immediately this meant he was probably better off being transfigured into some form of inanimate object. He was always too eager to help, to be of some assistance to others, that sometimes he forgot the fact he was royalty. Resisting the temptation of rearranging his face into a scowl, he finally agreed. "I'll be sure to stay out of your way," He couldn't resist making an addendum , "but if I see anything about to occur that I can help with, then I will. We can't have you doing all the work."

He let his gaze wander the fields of snow, a faint feeling of a form of awe weld inside. How were they supposed to find anyone in such a wasteland as this? There were no footsteps other than his and Pyara's. There was nothing out here.
