I'm lazy because of my upbringing... my parents call me free labor... so I really have no incentive to work hard is I'm being treated like I'm nothing

Hello there. My poems are here, or on DA (username; Kefke_Wren...if the icon looks like a Transformers logo, you probably spelled it right). If all goes well, though, some of them may also end up in magazines soon, though. At least, I hope they do. For one thing it would be nice to be recognized. For another...well, I could really use the money. ;)

@Jethren, I'm not doing much this weekend. Just kicking back and relaxing.

@Acobjum: Yeah. That's pretty much what I'm doing. Trying to get to the end of "Oathbound Wizard" too. Good book, but I can't help but notice how much the author repeats himself. Even when he went on a journey without any of his friends from the previous book, the main character somehow pulls in a new group of people, that follows almost exactly the same pattern as the first...right down to the dragon that can't fly!

How is everyone doing?

Hmm I love this thread! I am a fellow poet and I am a lover of William Blake, Robert Frost, Edgar Allen Poe, and William Shakespear. Here is one of my 60 or so poems I have written so far. I would LOVE feedback. ^^

Just a warning I was in a down time when i wrote this poem ^^ beware of the Emo sound.

Sorrow Of Life

I cry myself to sleep.
Im sick of the fights, I feel like a sheep.
Bits of me cut away with each fight.
Is my life meant to be in constant plight?
I wish it would all go away.
I would people to let me have a say.
But no, even though I am an adult, I am stilled called child.
They control me as if they think I will go wild.
But I will not, I just want some room.
What? Do they think they will get to pick my groom?
"Mom and Dad know what is right."
Then why do they live in a house that is too tight?
They should be rich and famous because they know all.
They should have a house for spring, summer, winter and fall.
But where has knowing all gotten them to?
To a daughter who doubts them through and through.
Why do they keep up this charade?
To me, it seems like a tirade.
I am just sick of this.
I want maybe just a little bit of bliss!
But no, when I am happy they say, " that mouth has to go!"
Most kids dont talk to their parents, but this they do not know.
I have always confided in them.
Now I am afraid that they might trade me in for a gem.
At least it will not talk.
It is only a rock.
But it is worth more than me.
After all i do not do anything, I am just lazy.
I am sick of crying everyday.
Maybe, just maybe, I should go away.

*reads poem* ugh... >.< I know EXACTLY how that poem feels... so true... I like how you used a quote from the parents and talked sarcastically about how they knew all but had nothing...

No it is not normally like that. But after fights I feel like that at times.
