I actually don't write much poetry anymore but sometimes I'm stricken with an idea that has to be put in verse. So I will share any that I think are worth bothering others than my wife to read. My first offering is the last poem I've written and was composed of Dizzy Gillespie song titles primarily. I hope you enjoy it.

Love In The Key Of D(izzy)

Oh, Lorraine.

Do you remember that night in Tunisia?

There was some wild, wild fiesta mo-jo as we danced til dawn to that one note samba.

That night became a long, long summer that's now so long ago.

Nestled oh so close together against the sea of humanity that's the pau de arara on our way to Rio.

It was so long ago that you took my heart con alma.

I could never dream of life more sweet.

That sweet adventure drove us on rails like the 5:20 to Manteca but from our very first dance,

I knew I'd see no more blues.

My love. My Lorraine.

Do you remember that night in Tunisia as you lay so still in your sickbed?

. . .And then she stopped.
