It is the end of Time, the Multiverse is rapidly disintegrating, and there is only one place where Life remains – the World Museum.
Enter the museum, and the stories of the people with in it. For centuries, the near immortal Curator has gathered various beings from every dimension and universe, originally with the intent of preservation. However, the Curator, with its god-like knowledge, knows that irrational beings cannot be trusted to control their own lives, and these beings have been frozen, contained and restrained.
This system worked flawlessly for years, but with the destruction of All, the Museums power source no longer can sustain it, and the beings are now free.
That is, as free as anyone can be, trapped on a tremendous ship sailing through the remaining stars, with a practically omnipotent intelligence that wishes you at best dead, and at worst no more then a mannequin on display.
-
The museum is a spacecraft, floating through space in the far far future. You can be any intelligent species or race, real, fiction, or of your own creation, at any level of development.
Please:

The Ship
The Ship is huge. Very, very huge. Seriously, it's big. There are some areas where the terrain of certain planets is preserved, usually swatches no larger then an acre. These swatches are filled with plant and animal life. The area where specimens are kept is near the surveillance room, and above a sprawling laboratory. About a fourth of the Ship is dead and powerless, this is the entire lowest level. The rest of the Ship is brightly light and hospital white, though there are a few hallways that are lined with paints, photos, and other depictions of various worlds.

neon's long blonde hair fluttered around her like an aura while she paced down the halls of the world's museum. no. no. no. this is not right... she paced back and forth through the halls chewing on her nails and stopping every once in awile to snap, "i've got it!". but she always went back to pacing when she ruled out that option. "grrr...if i dont find my sword, someone is going to pay..." she groaned. it was her first day here, and she had already lost one of her most prized posesions. great. great. just great. she felt the familiar wiggling in her pocket that meant it was time to feed kaku. she pulled out her little black mouse and wiggled his nose. she took out a cube of cheese and let him nibble on it on the floor. she smiled down at him and watched him scurry from left to right looking for someting. "calm down boy..." she lightly laughed as he crawled over her shoes.

THE CURATOR
The Curator concentrated, feeling the life force of the Elf. He moved slowly, like something carried by the wind, towards it. Once closer, he felt another, smaller beacon of life. This was the first of his treasures to awaken, and he was determined to have her back. At the moment he was invisible and unsubstantial, but someone who could sense these things would have felt something as he passed. He flowed into the ship itself and began working on locking the doors around the escapee.
----
SHIP
In front of where Neon paces is three doors, one rusted, one shut and perhaps locked, there is no way of telling, and the final one opening into a well lit passage.
The rusting door starts to shut.

San woke up, drowsy and groggy. Rubbing her eyes, she tried to remember where she was.
"Mother?" she called out, but nothing answered back. Not even the birds who inhabited the jungle where she lived could answer her.
"Mother!" San called out again, finally opening her eyes. Blinding florescent light hit her eyes, making them water. "Ow," she mumbled while getting up. San had never been indoors before and didn't really like it now that she was. Grass and jungle stuff was the perfect carpet, trees and vines made beautiful walls, and the endless blue sky was the only ceiling anyone ever needed, or at least that was her opinion. A quick scan of her surroundings told her that she was inside a small metal room with no door. No furniture occupied the room either. Another scan of the room told her that the only way out was a vent, in the middle of the ceiling.
"Grrrrrrrrr," San growled deep in her throat. Bouncing across the room, her growl echoed in her ears.
Getting down on all fours, she shifted all of her weight on her legs. In the pounce position, she was ready for her escape. Taking a deep breath, and then exhaling, she leaped towards the wall facing her. The ceiling was about 20ft up in the air, so San would have to try a different way of getting up. Pausing for a millisecond, she readied herself for the next leap. Loosing as little momentum as was possible, she leaped from wall to wall, all the time getting higher and higher.
Finally, she had only one leap left. But as she adjusted herself for it, her foot slipped and she began to fall. Adrenaline burst inside her and spilled over her arms and legs as she desperately attempted to gain hight on the wall. Feeling the last of her energy ebb away, she kicked herself towards the center of the ceiling and the vent.
Feeling herself soaring through the air for only a few seconds, she was thrust against the ceiling and stayed there for only a second before beginning to fall towards the floor. Screaming in rage, San tried to find purchase on the ceiling. Her fingers grasped the edge of vent and one by one the fell off.
Kicking her legs furiously, San tried to find a better grip with her left hand. She found it, and begin to pull herself into the vent. Once inside, she collapsed, her breaths ragged and shallow.

The Curator froze. Damn, damn, damn! Another had woken, and he rushed through the Ship's veins towards the surveillance room. He didn't think this new one could get out of her cell, still didn't know how the other had, but it was better to check. He glided into the room, narrowed eyes focusing immediately on the empty room where his tiger girl had been.
Why?! Why does this have to happen? I am trying to do a good thing, trying to preserve life! Why do those damned primitives not understand that?!
He calmed himself. How did she get out, and where did she go? There was no entrance or exit to the room... all that entered and exited was oxygen, or, in some cases, a different life giving gas.
Wait. Oxygen got in how? There was vents, he remembered, but whether or not they were large enough to fit his specimen, he wasn't sure. However, there was no other way out, so they must be. He wrinkled his pale brow in thought... how in the world had she gotten up that far?
Perhaps she hadn't left after all, he didn't know all the capabilities of those he 'saved'. She could have make herself invisible, or simply hidden from the Ship's senses.
Sending a thought to his Ship, he flooded the cell with a paralyzing gas, which would also travel through the vents to get there. Where ever she was, he'd have her back soon.
SHIP
The vents are fairly wide, allowing for easy going if one is crawling and not obscenely overweight. They split into four branches, one of which which will be soon full of gas. One goes straight and climbs steeply upwards, two go left, one turning down and one remaining level. The final pathway comes off the right side, also remaining level. There is also back down into the room.
The gas is very dense. There is enough of it to fill the cell half way, which would cover a tall man's head.
In vents is an alarm starts, and is quickly silenced. There is a quiet hissing only someone with excellent hearing would notice.
--
The rusting door in front of Neon is almost finished closing.
((I'm gonna add some stuff to the first post, so you might wanna check that.))

neon's elven ears tilted up and around hearing the door behind her starting to shut. it was fairly rusted and she caught it before it closed completely. she opened it further and was stopped from entering to explore when she heard an alarm going off from down the hall. it was ringing in her sencitive ears and she gritted her teeth as the alarm closest to her started going off as well. she picked up kaku and the cheese he was currently nibbling on and placed them both in the bag by her side. gas. its gas, and its coming this way. she thought to herself, she turned on her heel and picking up her pace she started running down the hall in the opposite direction of the alarms.

((Nope, you got it right, you're in a hallway of sorts. But there's only three doors, two of which are closed and may be locked, but I'm gonna go back and edit the rusty one open again... You're just not in the same place as San, and there is no gas. If you want, just edit so you heard the alarm instead?? Also if you want you can keep the rest and say Neon thought there was gonna be gas where she is.))

Now, the Curator thought, with one dealt with, back to the Elf girl. He switched to a different screen and watched her. The stupid doors still hadn't all closed. His Ship must be getting old. He swore as he saw her catch the metal door before it could close, then smiled as he noticed she thought the gas was coming for her.
Perfect.
He could herd her using the alarms, making her think the gas was in paths he didn't want her following. Perhaps he could lead her to the airlock? He smirked malevolently as he pictured her face as she struggled to breathe air that wasn't there. Then again, she seemed remarkably clear headed. Maybe she somehow already knew where she was, and who he was. That would not be good. In that case, perhaps she should be killed.
No, he decided, that would be a waste of a perfect subject. He wouldn't want to be to blame for the extinction of her species. Maybe he should talk to her... yes, he thought he might as well try.
He connected telepathically with his Ship, projecting his voice into the hallway where she ran, and silencing the alarms. Still, it wouldn't hurt to pretend there really was gas.
"Elf. Stop. If you do not run, I will stop the gas. Come back to me, little lost one. I do not wish for your death. I am only concerned with life. After all, this is my museum, and it is a museum of life as well as worlds."
Should he have told her that? Surely it would have been better to keep her confused and lost. Now she knew, at least, that she was in a museum.

hearing the alarms shut off, she looked around and was angered to hear another voice. not good not good not good. she shook her head and shoved any thought of giving herself up away from her mind. she backed up a little looking at the ceilings. they must have watch all over this place if they found me... she stopped in her place. "museum?" she whispered under her breath. she was in a worlds museum. she clentched her teeth in anger and frustration and daringly decided to keep running. maybe she could out run the gas if the mysterious man's voice didnt turn it off? who knew realy? she crouched into running position and darted down the hall faster than before. no. no way am i getting caught. i cant. cant.

The Curator sighed. He knew it was impossible to reason with savages and lesser beings. "Alright, you little fool. Run. But remember, you have nothing to live for. Nothing." He smiled, wondering what effect his cryptic words would have.
He almost felt pity, for a moment. She didn't know yet that she was the last Lunar Elf currently in existence. But wouldn't it be fun when she found out...

neon started getting tired, and after so long of running she looked franticly around for any way out of the hall or into another hall. unfortunatly the hall extended and she was scared. she shook out the mystery man's last words and decided she did have a reason to live. because she wanted to. she was starting to get very scared now. she looked to her left seeing two doors and swallowed. its better than nothing neon, go for it and maybe youll get lucky. she ran up to one and pulled hard. locked. she punched the door hard with her fist and ignored the throbbing pain she now felt because of it. she looked to the other door and ran up to it holding her now uneasy breaths as she pulled on the handle hoping for it to open.

San looked at the four different paths she could take. Cursing, for she had never been good at decision making, she felt her ears twitch as a high-pitch hissing sound filled the vents. Sniffing the air, she noted a change in the concentration of air.
"Damn," she murmured, sticking her a knuckle in her mouth as if to aid her thought process. Finally, after a half minute of debating with where to go, she took the branch that went downwards. It would be the quickest route anywhere... Hopefully. Crawling towards the gentle slope of the vent, she realized that the metal was cold and slick. Taking in a deep breath, she began her decent, doing her best to keep control and not slide down the vent. She had no idea where it ended so it was best just to be safe. But, despite her best intentions, she lost her whatever grip she had on the smooth airway.
"AAAAAAAHHHHHHOO WEEEEEEEH!!!!" San began her scream only to have it end as a cry of giddy joy a child would experience from going down a long slide. Her cry stopped about halfway through though, when she realized that the ride was longer than a fun one should be. Another scream erupted from her as she came to end of the vent, and a bright light. Crashing against the grid covering of the vent, she didn't dare move. Opening one eye at a time, San could see through the grid and noticed an elf trying to open a door. Mesmerized, for she had only heard of elves before, from stories told to her by her villages elders, she shifted to get a better look. Trying to get a better view ended up being a wrong decision though, causing her to tumble out of the vent and land on the elf.
"Oof!" San exclaimed, oblivious to the creature beneath her. "Where'd elf go?" she thought aloud while getting up.

The Curator licked his lips after getting his insane giggling under control. This was getting interesting. He would, perhaps, leave them to it. As long as he made sure all the doors to important parts of his ship were locked, they could wander safely, and he'd always be able to find them. There was no way they could damage the ship, was there? No, surely not.
He'd play with them, perhaps. It was good to be doing something, to have to think and speak and expend some little effort. This was fun, in a way. It had been too long since he had last met some living being. Maybe he would keep one, as a pet of sorts, while he refroze the other. That idea made him giggle again, quietly and endlessly.
The link that he had not yet deactivated broadcasted the sounds of his mirth about his Ship.
Yes, this was fun indeed. But it would be more fun if he didn't know what they were doing, where they were hiding. He hummed contentedly as he thought of all the fun he would have if they found the dead part of his Ship, the silent, dark part that he had had to abandon in order to power the rest of his Ship's systems. He could not see in there.

neon pulled and pulled. this door was her last hope. not seeing it budge she--BAM! she felt another thing impact her and she yelled in pain. "JESUS CHRIST! THAT HURTS!" she flailed her limbs around feeling the being on top of her and finally managed to push her weight out from under it. she sat up still on the floor and got a closer look. it was another girl. "uhmmm..." she looked around quickly trying to see if it was a trap of some kind. she stood up instinctivly not trusting her and backed all the way to the door. "who...who are you?" she asked. after not hearing anything out of the speakers she knew this was not part of the plan. good. something they didnt expect. maybe i am pretty lucky. she helped the girl up and examined her closely. "your not human...or elven...what are you?" she said closely eyeing her tail and ears.

San flicked her tail and twitched her ears.
"No, I'm San. Not human or elven, anthro," she placed her hands above her chest, right below her clavicle. Worrying that she hadn't been as clear as she could, San got down on all fours and ran around almost exactly as a tiger would have. She then got up and repeated herself, "Not human or elven, anthro." Smiling, she strode over to Neon and looked at her, then the doors. "The doors?" she asked, peering at the the middle one.

"Where can't the gas go?" she finally ended asking, though her real question was "where can we go that the gas can't?" But both where fundamentally the same question.

"Me too," San grinned before she turned around and began strolling down the hallway, trying every other door that she passed. Most ended up being locked or being a closet though. About halfway down the hallway, San noticed a tan colored door with the words "African Desert" written on it with brown paint. Curious, she grabbed the doorknob and pushed, then seeing that it didn't open, she pulled. The door swung open to reveal a desert landscape, complete with cactuses and wildlife.
"Neon!" she call out while shielding her eyes from the artificial sun that was pouring out of the room and onto her.

"woah..." she stared wide-eyed at the veiw. "wh-what is this place? a desert?" she stepped in and was surprised to find the sand and cacti were all very much real and the tempurature was hot and made her sweat a little bit. she shook her head and turned away from it all and stepped out of the room. "no. i dont want to stay in there." she said rubbing her arms and shaking her head. "i dont like this place, lets find somewhere else." she asked her eyes pleading.
