Title says it all, what are your plans if there was a zombie apocalypse?
XD i don't actually believe in zombies i just think this is a fun topic!

My plan: mine is more of a likely scenario than a plan, i will probably get scared and decide to kill myself. But being the "brave" person i am that will most likely scare me as well. I am hoping with me being distracted with my own thoughts a zombie will get me.

Posting, just because you happen to have a decently epic zombie picture. xD

Zombieland. I would do the Zombieland stuff.. Those rules he made up. Excellent.

Of course, in order to make it work right you have to be completely paranoid... but I'm not figuring that would be too difficult with the living dead roaming around attempting to go 'om nom nom' on my not so dead flesh. :O

Plans were set in motion years ago.

Step 1: Gather 5 others for a total of 6 people(3 male, 3 female)
Step 2: Find an out of the way cabin
Step 3: Dig trench around said cabin(6-10 feet deep, and 8feet wide)
Step 4: Ensure there is a bridge that can only be lowered from cabin side of trench
Step 5: Load the cabin with supplies(Food, fuel, wood, medicine, weapons, and ham radio) and have sturdy 4x4 standing by
Step 6: When low on supplies, make a run for supplies, leaving 2 people behind to ensure a safe haven to return to
Step 7: Hold out as long as possible


All in all, that should keep at least 6 people safe for a while.

Though there is a second plan if the first one fails. Gather supplies(same as above), and get to the top floor of a tall office building. Break apart desks, chairs, anything non-life essential and use that to block the stairway(so that nothing can get up, but you can get down if needed). Open elevator doors and destroy all hope of elevator coming up somehow with infecteds. Use radio until you get a response, while holding out(oh, and make sure there are at least 2 sniper rifles for a headshot competition from roof to ground level against zombies).

@ draciolus, those are some pretty well thought out plans :)

One of my aunts acually has a bomb shelter dating back from WW2. I could hide in there with supplies for awhile if need be. Failing that, i hope i can find someplace to hide or i am zombie food. x_x

I really like the safe house thing that the L4D series has. I hope that people will have the brain to build a few in the city that you are in. That would be pretty nifty.

So like, I'm pretty sure I'd die, but I'd definitely stay by my boyfriend. Although I know he would die as well. We try to pretend we won't but I'm pretty sure we both know we would xD
I'd probably cry a lot too. That's just what I do.

Guns mostly. And a safe place to return to.
Hopefully they will be slow moving zombies instead of scary fast running zombies.

Did you know, that some scientists, actually did an experiment to see if we would survive in a zombie apocalypse? They're research ended with this result, "only if they are slow stupid zombies, any other kind of zombies and we will die." apparently they were tired of trying to cure cancer? So they decided to do this experiment?

My plan would be;

1) Find out as much about the zombies as possible. If they are the fast one, I would get my best friend over, and lock ourself up in the house. A gun would be nice, but no-one has guns where i live, so we would have to live without. We will hope that they will destroy the zombies, before they find out about our hiding. If they do, suicide would be our best option.
If they are the slow ones, I would get my family in the car, call the nearest family and friend at get them together. We would drive with my best friend and her family, and go steal gas and food.

2) Find shelter. It should be at least 2 floors, hopefully more, and we would get up at the top, and destroy the stairs, unless there isn't any other way of getting out. Then we would barricade the stairs, fill all the bathtubs with water and start making plans. I would be against trusting other than ourself, but if we have to, we could take more people in, but try to avoid it. Weapons would be good, and some protection. I would probably make my family stay, while checking the situation around us, to see were the stores are. Not wear loose clothes, but many layers. Protection for the mouth, as I would rather not get infected by getting zombieblood in the mouth. Put something black in front of the windows.

3) Get used to it. See if we can get some earth into the place where we are staying to plant something, catch rainwater and listen to the radio often. Put up a discrete flag, hopefully only get noticed by rescue, and not other people. Catching animals would be a good idea too, but maybe too noisy. If we could muffle them, it would be great. Get mp3's, so that people won't become mad from the constant moaning, and extra batteries. If there is a liberality, survival books, and books about electronic would be good. Also so people won't be mad with boredom. Firearms, if possible, but not necessary if we have normal and blunt weapons. Even forks can be used, to push trough the eye socket, into the brain of the zombie, but avoid getting so close to them would be preferable. Get food that won't rotten fast.

Transport: Shopping cart, bikes, horses, whatever doesn't use fuel, as the gas would go bad after a while.

Kill the first zombie to ever live then Bam no more zombie apocalypse.

A zombie apocalypse is caused by a virus, that re-animates the dead cells after it kills them. Thats why when someone is bitten they have a maximum of 2hours to be turned. And also, the only safe way to accept people into a "safe house" is to make them(and I would shoot them if they didnt!!) strip naked and turn around slowly while they are viewed for any bite marks. If they are clean, they can come in, if not, they get shot. But then again, they would be forced to do that in a sepereate room EVERYONE needs to pass through, and go through the same inspection process.

1) After compiling a group of my friends and family we will head out to Alaska. There aren't many people there and, with the frigid cold, the zombies would freeze like cadaver pops.

2) Once in Alaska and we find a nice cabin and begin training. I would lead everyone in cardio, muscular, and stretching regimes. Spry people don't become zombie chow. Also we would practice hand to hand, fire arms, and various other forms of killing.

3) Like someone said before me, a nice ditch would be dug around the property. It will be lined with flammable material. Once a zombie falls in, we strike a match and watch the puppy burn.

4) Of course our provisions may wear out. In that case me and a small handful of my skilled amigos would head into the city. Any zombies would be dealt with accordingly and those who have been bitten as well.

All I can see thats wrong with that one, is the fact that you could use said material to keep warm, or even cook food. Plus, matches would be a very valuable resource, thus you wouldnt want to use it, or any form of striker to start it with.

And with the "compound" you build, there could always be a wall at the top of the ditch, and make sure its big enough to have LOADS of pasture on the grounds, then you could have animals roaming free in there(I would suggest the concrete barricades from the highway to build the wall, 2-3 thick and 5 high, piled like you would see a brick wall made)

The light a match thing was more of a turn of phrase. Anything that can cause a spark, like hitting metal against stone, would be more than sufficient.

As for the compound, I know all of that but I like my little cabin. Though, if rethought, my little cabin may be underground with only a trap door in and out that can be covered by snow. Snow, ice, and dirt actually work as great insulators and would probably keep the cabin at a decent temperature. That would also work to mute sounds. Of course plenty of candles and possibly a man powered generator would be used.... now I am getting ideas.

Just wait until you find the Zombie Survival Guide(its a real book, which Ive been trying to locate...though my friend wont sell me his), then the ideas will be pouring in. And as for the safest current "fortress" I can think of...Alcatraz. One way in, just set something so that if zombies start walking under water you can easily stop them(some sort of auto reseting, non-explosive/ammo using device). Personally, I would set the entire perimeter(except for a small path which is HEAVILY guarded by 10foot walls with murder holes set at about average head height) with a trap that has master made Katanas at the right level to shop off their heads, or something to cut them in half when they get out of the water. Even if it only slows them, an industrial strength steel I beam wall would be set up 15feet from shore so that there is something else to protect in the case of amphibious assault.

I have read the Zombie Survival Guide. Not everyone can afford to set up such a fortress and stumbling across one would be even more likely. My plan is much more practical and actually pretty safe, as far as Zombies are concerned.

Well, with a zombie apocalypes, I dont think anyone will really be thinking about money, just thinking about surviving. So most people(at least those that could obtain the items required to build such a fort) would happily hand it over, as long as there is somewhere safe. I know that if I owned a gun shop, and a zombie invasion happened, I would open the doors with a mega phone saying that if you want to live, come get a gun, and stay together!

Sure, that won't get you killed at all xD If people want something to defend them self they won't wait till you open the doors. They'll barge in, steal all they can, and shoot everyone who are a treat to them, zombie or human. And with all the humans in a small gun shop, the zombies would hear you, and steam to the place, and with shooting-crazy people, everyone would most likely either get shot or eaten. :( I don't trust people under pressure!

I wouldn't go with a knife, you might get splatters on your face like your eyes and then get infected. : D

Hiding in somewhere would be so lame. I'd go with a metal baseball bat, bike, and if I'm lucky I'll get a gun somewhere. Then have some fun before someone eats my brain.
My friend has a perfect plan for a zombie apocalypse. He has even a book about it.. haha no seriously, I think he's been playing Left 4 dead too much.

Hopefully I will be near a weapon store full of ammunition. I think that would great to have!

I have a pdf book in my pc called the zombie survival guide, and i've read it a lot of times for fun. In case of a zombie apocalypse... i would hope for the book to be right.
