((Ah, sorry, Alex just seemed so ominous... ^^;
As for pants, playing the games helps with gold. Especially the fan girl one. The later levels might lag your computer, but levels 12-15 gets you about 35 gold and level 17 gets you 50 gold. :3))

Kithai finished her exercises, having completely forgotten the dream by then, and decided to look at the shops for a bit. She left the glamorous inn and walked down the street and took the first left she found. I should be careful not to get lost, she thought. Many cities can be giant mazes.. She noted the street name and the one she'd come from. Blossom Road and Service Street. Alright.
She took the next right, called Market Plaza, and discovered a shopping center.
((It's not an indoor mall or anything, it's more like a plaza with shops all around the edges and also merchant stands everywhere.)) She smiled and stepped into a bakery.

"Welcome to Lauren's Pastries and Pies! How can I help you?" a woman with curly brown hair and misty blue eyes asked. "Hello, I was just coming in to look," Kithai replied with a kind smile. The woman nodded. "Just let me know if you need anything, dear," she said. Kithai replied with a thank you and a promise that she would, before turning to the glass covered shelves to look at the treats. There was a vast variety of pastries and mini pies, as well as some cakes and large pies. Kithai's mouth watered as she gazed over them. Eventually she came to a decision and bought two chocolate pastries and a strawberry mini pie. The woman at the counter packed them into a brown paper bag and handed them to Kithai.
Kithai paid and left the store. After going to a dairy and buying a small carton of chocolate milk as well, she walked back to the busy plaza, sat down on a conveniently placed bench, and people-watched as she ate and drank the sweets.

((Sorry for my unimaginative street names. I'm studying for a history class while I'm writing this. The final is tomorrow. >_>))

{[lol it's ok, city steet names are usually boring and unimaginative.. it makes them seem more realistic.]}

Granny was snoozing soundly on the couch when Addy burst into speech, "I've done it!" she squealed, nearly giving her grandmother a heart-attack.

"let's see then," Granny said, grasping at her chest with one hand and pointing towards Addy's clasped ones with the other.

Addy opened her hands, revealing a small feathered pod. The pair stared at it for a while, but then it began to move. The feathers, which were actually wings, pulled back to reveal the dragon Addy had tried several hundred times to animate, the paper mess on Granny's parlour floor was proof of that. The creature stared curiously at Addy and Granny, before flapping it's small wings and taking to the air. Granny clapped her hands in delight, and Addy shone with pride.

"I've decided I want to keep this one, as a memory of my first lesson. I've named him Fafnir, after the dragon in Norse mythology." Addy said, and Fafnir came to rest himself on her shoulder. He belched out a puff of smoke, gave the two women a sleepy smile, then tucked his head into one of his wings and fell asleep.

"If you think you are ready to take care of such a creature, I'll cast a glamour spell on him for you, just don't tell your mother." Granny winked and stood to get the spellbook. Addy gave her the most wonderful smile, and Fafnir started to snore. Granny just laughed and flipped to the page she needed.

((Again, sorry. I haven't been on lately because I don't have my computer at the moment. I'm using my boyfriend's computer right now. ^^; ))

Kithai sighed as she noticed it was getting dark - her vision was improving. She supposed she should go back to the inn, but instead the drow girl decided to explore the town some. She got up and navigated through the remaining crowd to get to the other side of the plaza where she'd seen another street leading away. As she got closer, she watched other people walk through it and decided it should be safe enough.

She didn't realize this was one of those "you have to be able to see," sort of things.

As she walked down what she now realized was an alley, she glanced at the walls on either side of her and noted the odd purple shade there was to the stone. Shruging, she moved on until the alley abruptly widened into a residential street. But this was no ordinary residential street, this one housed enormous homes with glorious architecture and colors. Each home was a different style and combination of colors individual to the owner's liking. They weren't quite mansions or castles, but they were big enough; about three stories tall and twice as long as a normal house in this city.

Kithai smiled and stared for a while before heading back through the alley. Some people might not be as friendly as Addy, she thought. When she got to the plaza once more, she gaped at the changes. Each shop had lights strung from it that reached across or to the center of the plaza and there was music coming from somewhere. There were lots of people and they were all dancing and talking, and just generally enjoying themselves. As Kithai threw herself into the throng, she noticed slight differences in these people from normal humans. Some had oddly colored hair, such as green or purple or pink, some had horns or other such small extra appendages, some had oddly colored eyes like Addy's or even more so with colors like orange and red, and some even had wings. Kithai danced along, knowing she didn't really belong with this group, but having fun anyway.

As she took a break from the dancing, she noticed the moon was high overhead and gasped. How long has it been?! she wondered in shock. Quickly, she stood and left the plaza the way she had come.

Alex arrived at The Gavek Quarter and immediately dove into the crowd, maneuvering between dancers. He caught a glimpse of Kithai and kept his head low, entering a library type place called The Farhnum Collection. He immediately came up to the counter, removing his hat in respect or his friend, Farhnum. Alex opened his mouth to speak, but Farhnum got his word in before Alex could. "Ah, great to see you Alex! What a pleasant surprise... done with Gavin book already? Im still amazed at how fast you read Alex... You know, i met someone who read like you before... Think his nam-"Alex interrupted and quickly blurted out, "Im sorry Farhnum, I don't have time for you tales of lost friends. I truly must find a spell on revealing names quickly. Are there any in the Kajahkek writings?" Farhnum, after recovering from the shock of being interrupted, thought for a moment, scratching his neck. "N-No I don't think there are any in the Kajahkek writings... I think there are some in Romanian(did i get that right 'addy'?)." Farhnum said. He pointed toward the third row in the little 'library'. Alex briskly walked over to the shelves containing the book, noticing it was already dark outside. Alex looked through the shelf carefully, not really understanding the Romanian language. He soon managed to make out the word, Spellbook and grabbed it, throwing some change on the counter and leaving quickly. Alex looked up at the moon, realizing he probably didn't have much time before Kithai fell asleep, and then thought about it, completely forgetting he didn't even understand Romanian. He had only picked up a few trace words, but that was all. "Dammit... now were am i going to find someone who understand Romanian..." He silently said to himself. He quickly left The Gavek Quarter, and put his black studded hat back on, entering the city streets, the book tucked under his arm.

(done.. yay^,,^ ill be back in bout 1/2 hour, need to pretend to sleep fora little.)
(doh, i feel asleep anyways... lol.)

{[lol yay]}

Addy waved good-bye to Granny and started down the city streets back to her home. Granny lived very close to one of the more 'lively' places in the city, and she could already hear music begin to pick up around the corner. Fafnir sat lazily on her shoulder and would occasionally let out little gurgles. 'granny made him look like a parakeet, I think.' Addy said to herself, as she noticed people stopping to admire either a dragon or a bird sitting on her shoulder. They would say things like,"How cute," or,"he's wonderfully trained," and sometimes, "What species is he?"

She sighed, getting bored of the public, and began to hum the tune of a folk song Granny had taught her when she was still very young. She remembered it was about a ewe-lamb, or something like that, and it was called "Miorita." Addy got so carried away humming, that she began to sing the lyrics aloud.

((I took out the part about Kithai falling asleep so that we can actually interact with each other again. ^^;
Also, for clarification before you read; when Kithai see's in infrared vision, every living thing has their own specific pattern, like a finger print.))

As Kithai head back to the inn, she heard someone humming a tune. She turned and saw the same infrared pattern she'd seen in her dream. "Addy?" She asked the figure.

She walked closer and was able to recognize the features of the person's face. "It is you, Addy! Hi again!" Kithai enthused. Then she realized that Addy probably wouldn't recognize her in the near total darkness and said, "We met earlier today. I'm the drow, Kithai."

((Eh, sorry for shortness. I just started school and it's been a long day.. Creativeness is at a low right now.))

"Wow, so when I said 'see you later' I guess I wasn't lying." She laughed. The idle chatting had awakened Fafnir, he sat up straight, and -catching a whif of something he decided he wanted- flew off.

"Fafnir, wait!" Addy cried with her arm outstretched. It went limp at her side and she sighed,"oh well,he'll be back I guess, we are bound by my spirit...." her voice trailed off.

Kithai gaped as the tiny dragon-spelled-to-be-a-parakeet flew off. "Was that a miniature dragon?" she asked incredulously. "How amazing! And rather odd that it had no heat emissions..." she trailed off when she realized she hadn't seen it until it moved.

Then she registered what Addy had said. "Bound by spirit? I am not sure I understand what you mean by that," she confessed.

"Well, according to the book that Granny had me read today, my family has an unusually large ammount of spirit energy eminating from them, allowing us to put souls into our artwork. Apparently, the magic tricks I was doing before were mere child's play compared to what I am able to learn. Fafnir, er, the dragon, was my first actual creation..." Addy stared up into the darkened sky, straining her eyes.

"I just don't feel right without him here, it's like a little piece of me is missing...but that must be true for all creations, after all, you give up a little of yourself when you create something you are proud of, but in my case it's literal." There was a hint of a joking mood behind her last words, and she smiled, though it did not make her miss the little dragon any less.

Kithai grinned when Addy explained Fafnir and then told her, "Wow, that's so amazing!" Then she said to herself aloud, "I wonder if she would have any knowledge about drow magic."

By the time Addy had finished talking, Kithai had stopped grinning. "Oh, but I'm sure he'll be back soon. After all, he's part of your soul. If you're feeling like you're missing a piece, imagine how he must be feeling while so far away, when his entire being desires to be with you," she said without malice.

"I guess you're right...Anyway, I apologize again for running off like that, but being late to my lessons scares me... oh, who am I kidding? It's my mother that scares me, such a small woman to instill so much fear." Addy shuddered, then changed the subject, "That man I bumed into, Alex I think, I felt something weird about him and I was wondering if it was just me?"

Suddenly Fafnir came out of the sky ad landed smoothly on Addy's shoulder once more. He had a fat, black cricket in his mouth and he seemed to be showing no restraint in trying to eat it whole. "Gross," Addy mumbled, but smiled anyway, happy to have him back.

"Yes, that man was strange," Kithai agreed, noticing the abrupt change in subject and saying nothing about it. "What was also strange was the dream I had after I went to the hotel right after that," she commented right before Fafnir landed on Addy's shoulder with a fat, black cricket in his mouth. Kithai smiled at the fact that he'd returned.

"About the dream though; it was really weird. It felt real. I woke up in this dark room and my eyes were having trouble adjusting - which is really weird, especially for drow. There was a window, but no light, and when I tried to see if there was a wall or cloth, my hand disappeared into the darkness. In the dream, I realized it meant there was another drow somewhere near because creating darkness spheres is a power only drow have. And when I turned around, you were sitting on the floor with your back against the wall," Kithai explained with dramatic hand gestures. "The dream ended before anything else happened though," she finished.

"What do you think?" Kithai wanted to know. "Is it related to the guy, or just coincidence? I hope it's not a premonition. Besides, I have no magical talent other than the traits I was born with, so it can't be that, right?."

"I'm not sure it was a premonition..." Addy's voice trailed off, "What kind of chaacteristics must another drow have in order to invade your dreams? Do they have to know you personally...?" Addy pondered this for a moment and Fafir gurgled. It sounded like he was trying to make words, but she dimissed that, she had to focus on the issue at hand.....

((I don't mind, I'm having trouble myself. We need more people. D: As for drow invading dreams, the D&D books I read don't go into too much detail about drow magic users. They're about a warrior drow, and he doesn't use magic. So I don't know. ^^; ))

Kithai looked thoughtful at the question. "I don't know much about drow mages. I wasn't taught much about the Underdark or the drow that live there. But I hadn't even thought of there being a drow outside the dream that created the presence in the dream. As far as I know, there aren't any other drow on the surface. If there are, they haven't made themselves known."

She gazed up at the stars as she thought. Then she looked back at Addy and said, "Maybe that man was friends with a drow. He couldn't be drow himself, his skin was too light, but the strangeness about him makes him seem like he might know a drow if there were one."

Kithai smiled at her kindly and said, "But it is really late. If your mother is as scary as you say, perhaps you ought to go home for the night. We can always meet up tomorrow. I'm staying in that inn you told me about."

"Alright then, tomorrow it is. And thank you for reminding me, I'd almost forgotten about her." Addy smiled and waved good-bye. she always liked to cut through all the music and dancing on her way home, just so she could see all the things that "didn't exist" and if she'd left any later she might have had to take the boring way home. the lights were bright and illuminated the darkness but didn't blind you from the stars like city lights usually did. so, even in the light, you could see the night sky as clearly as you could in the country. the thump of the music rattled in her chest, making Addy breathe deeper. It was a calming vibration that made her feel like the music was being played on her bones, like she herself was an instrument.

Addy wound up near some shops, and gazed into the display windows at the strange objects for sale, and then the festival street ended and she was back in her boring human universe. She unlocked her front door, climbed the steps in her already darkened house, and flopped down on her bed fully clothed. She fell asleep almost instantly.

Kithai said her goodbyes and turned to walk away as Addy did. She slowly walked down the street toward the inn and listened to the fading sound of the music from the plaza. Since there was no one around, she felt she would not embarrass herself by swaying to the beat as she walked. She gazed up at the stars as she went, watching them twinkle and seemingly move with the music as she did. As she continued, the music, faded though it was, grabbed hold of her once more and she began to dance down the street. She continued toward the inn, but now she was doing so in twirls, little sidesteps and small leaps. She closed her eyes, still able to see somewhat through her eyelids with her infrared vision, and just moved with the music.

By the time she was a couple houses down from the inn, the music had faded so much she could barely hear any of it. She stopped dancing and opened her eyes. She smiled in exuberance and looked up at the stars again, admiring the twinkling lights and wondering about the effect of the music. She had been having fun though, so she shrugged it off and entered the inn, walking to her room with a content, if not happy, smile on her face and a spring in her step.

When she got to her room, she lay on the bed and thought about her day for a while, remembering the friend she'd made and the strange man and dream, and then the delightful night she'd had. Then she fell asleep, eager for the next day to arrive.

The sun was shining full blast through Addy's curtains, she though this was strange, considering her mother usually got her up at the crack of dawn. She rolled over and stared at her alarm clock, it read: 12:00 in bright green, digital numbers. Her eyes widened in shock, and she threw her legs over the side of the bed. She hadn't taken her shoes off the night before, so her feet made an awful, rubbery squeal when they hit the wooden floor. She criged at the sound, and looked about her room, everything was neat and orderly, that was a first, and Echo was nowhere to be seen. She raced down the staircase after checking all the upstairs rooms, and checked all the downstairs ones as well. Everyone had disappeared.

After running through the house a second, and then a third time, Addy settled herself in the kitchen, where a floral, pink note that she had overlooked before was taped smack in the middle of the fridge. It read:

Dear Adriana, Your father and I were called away while you were busy with your lessons. Grandfather Morena is in the hospital at the Godwing Valley. We will be gone for a few days, take care of the house. Don't forget your lessons.....

Then the letter went on with a long list of don't's that extended to the back of the paper, don't eat too much junkfood, don't stay up past yada, yada, yada... and it was finally signed, Love Mom in a fancy cursive signature. Addy sighed in relief, and was calm for a second, when she suddenly heard a terrible crash accompanied by hissing and gurgling sounds.

"Fafnir! Echo!" Addy screamed through the empty house. The guilty party rounded the corner to the kitchen, covered in potting soil and sporting evil glares, which they freely shot back at one another. "Great, now I have to deal with them fighting" she mumbled to herself as she grabbed the broom and dustpan and began hunting for the cache of dirt the pair had been wallowing in.

((Ahhhh! Sorry again! D: I've gotten involved with a very strict roleplay site and it distracted me. ;-;

Kithai awoke to the bright sun in her face. "Unng!" she uttered at the pain it caused her. She hadn't realized she'd forgotten to close the windows the night before. Well, she was aware of it now. She rolled over to face away and slowly opened her eyes, squinting as they adjusted to the light. Once they had, she sat up and stretched accompanied by a long yawn. The drow girl then stood and stretched her legs.
Shortly after, she began her daily exercises. First, she reached toward the ceiling with her feet together and tried to stretch her back to the ceiling. She tilted her head back to look up and then bent backwards so that she was facing the window behind her. Slowly, she let herself fall backwards until her hands touched the floor in a backbend. Then she kicked her legs up and over and landed on her feet.
Kithai continued and finished her stretching exercises before beginning to practice with her pole-arm. She maneuvered it about herself, striking at imaginary enemies and blocking imaginary weapons. She began to move her feet as well and made slow turns as she moved to face different imaginary opponents. She started breaking a sweat as she moved faster and faster through the routines, eventually moving so fast she nearly moved in a blur. Then she slowed back down and let her muscles cool down and relax before she fully stopped.
She smiled at her accomplishments and then moved to the bathing room to shower the sweat off herself.

Minutes later, Kithai exited the bathing room fully dressed with her extremely long white hair in a multitude of braids and then tied into a high ponytail as opposed to the normal plain ponytail it was usually in. Satisfied with her appearance, she strapped her spear to her back and exited the inn.
She stepped into the sunlight and stood in the street for a moment, enjoying the light breeze. Then she turned and walked deeper into the city, determined to explore more of it this day.
