That's crazy. No one said anything til now. They should have just pmed you and told you to quote them. It would have taken two seconds. Now this wonderful contest is ending.
And why? Because someone was looking to cause trouble. Why else would they have taken the time to report this when no one else even noticed or cared.

I agree Lilith. I think it's someone who is either an ass kisser trying to get in with the mod team. Or someone who has a personal hatred towards me. Or someone who is just generally an asshole. I mean in the time it took them to report this, they could have easily PMed me instead.

And while a lot of those are just one posters that is still a lot of people that are going to miss this thread because of that person

yep, they were just looking for things to gripe about

and I've seen lots of people that don't quote things they should and they never get in trouble.
I don't know. I always worry about that kind of stuff. So if I'm not sure I quote. But it really sucks the fun out of stuff if you have to stop and analize if you should quote or not.

I dont blame the mod, but rather the one who turned you in, at that point the mods hands where tied.

But if I find that person they will get a swift kick from me as well.

I understand the rule and I get why the mod did what they did. I think the rule is a good rule considering if it wasn't there then there would be people that abused it.
But I don't get why the person who turned you in or even the mod didn't say "hey, you need to wrap some quotes around those."
The problem would have been solved, you would have learned you need to do that, the gold would have gone away, and there wouldn't have been need for infractions or the end of this wonderful thread.

That's what i said. I mean i know i've been in trouble for quoting before, and i always try to quote everything now (it has been ages since that last infraction). I just didn't realize that an avi entry needed to be quoted. Argh, it's really stupid of me for not clicking. But eh, i can't do anything about it ... Though, whoever that person is they're just morons. I wouldn't want them on my staff team anyway, they seem very spiteful.

I had the same problem with double posting. I got a warning and then like 2 years later I did it again and was given an infraction. But I understood that.

I just don't get why someone would look in here and think "I'm going to nark out this person that has this fun looking thread with great prizes instead of pointing out their mistake."

You don't have to quote just avatars, but you DO have to quote avatar entry forms that involve text in addition to the avatar.

The rule is in place because you can't earn gold for something you didn't write yourself. Posting an avatar is one thing. Posting an entire entry form without quoting it is something else entirely. :yes: You guys have all been around long enough to know the rules, and I KNOW you all know about the quoting rules and why they're in place. :yes: Just use some common sense when you go posting other people's text -- most of the time, it's going to need to be in quotes, no matter what.
