I think I'm obsessed. No, seriously. It's quite disturbing. But, I love it! Dragon Age Origins is the best game I have ever played, but now I'm getting stuck on the story.
I mean, I've played the game all the way through, what, about six times? And now I'm sorry to say that it's getting...well...boring. Oh, I hate saying it!! I almost punch myself every time, but it's true.
I love the game so much my heart will explode every time I turn it on, but now that I've finished all the origins and romances, and side quests all the way through, I need something diferent!

That is why I screamed so loud my head nearly blew up when I heard they're making an expansion pack! At first I though "Well, okay... But I just wish I did't have to lose all the friendships and desisions I made in the first one." But I did some research and it really is an EXPANSION PACK, meaning you can just add it to your old game and it'll just be like adding more plot to your old character!
This was awesome news for me, because I had had a romance with Alistair, so I didn't want that to all just blow away!

I just can't wait for it to come out! The release date is March 16, 2010! I even have a large dry erase board with the date on it, all pretty-like. And I have one of those callender-thingies where you tear off one notch each day till it gets to that special day. You know.

And whats annoying is that everyone makes fun of me because I got so excided over a game expansion. i just ignore them and try to tell them that they wouldn't understand the true meaning of Dragon Age if they tried. Even my parents are saying that I get too over-excided about games. But I don't listen, no I don't, because none of the people who claim that I'm crazy have even heard of this game.

But enough of my silly babbling. What do you guys think about this AWESOME new expansion? (I strongly advise no Dragon Age critisizing. It probably won't be good to put down something bad on a thread with obsessed game-players. Just saying.)

You may want to white out who you chose in your ending lol just so you don't spoil it for someone who hasn't beaten the game but...

You are totally allowed to be excited for an expansion pack!!! I remember the days of Diablo 2, and when the expansion became available for that I didn't shut up about. I am pretty sure I told at least 1 person everyday that it was coming out all countdown style until it did. I did that for Heroes of Might and Magic 3, and Neverwinter Nights.

Oh, thanks for pointing that out. Lol, I'll try to remember not to spoil it for anyone. Oopsie.

And thank you so much for understanding! I was hoping I wasn't the only one to go crazy for new games. Now, the only thing left to find is a way to fast forward time to March 16th, lol!

I wouldn't recommend it. After seeing Cartman's failed experiments with time travel while wanting the wii release date to move forward and then him ending up waiting and extra few months... I say a month and a half isn't so bad :3.

I think it's cute that you are so excited. XD I love Dragon Age too, even though I haven't finished it. I'll like to get the expansion pack when it comes out but I might not be able to. I'll definitely get it when I can though.

I'm currently playing Dragon Age: Origins myself, and so far I'm enjoying it~ :'D <3<3 Can't say I'm far off into the story yet though, because I hardly have time to play with my current evil schedule of doom, but from what I'm seeing I bet I will be enjoying it immensely. :'> It really does remind me of those days when I used to be an avid MMORPG player, which were good times, I think. ^^ <3<3

I hope to finish the game before the expansion pack comes out though! =O <3<3

Its not as hard as people think to finish it quickly...unless you want to do all the sidequests, and do any of the romances. Otherwise, if you make a head-long rush to the end, you can do it pretty quick.

So I've heard, Draciolus~ ^^
I don't want to rush to finish it, I think. I'm the type who likes to flesh things out before finishing them, so I guess you can say that I love doing side-quests. As for the romances, I have yet to decide who to go for. xDD;; As I've said, I'm not far enough yet into the story to actually have to decide or anything. XP Although yes, I do plan on playing for as long as I can before finishing. ^^ I mean, what's the use of buying the game if I won't maximize it, right? :3 <3<3

I totally know what you mean, Rylynne. The first time I played it, I did everything I could think of to do in the game. The first game I finished, I finished in about sixty hours all together. Maybe sixty-five. Then the second time I played it all the way through, I played it for about thirty hours all together. I skipped most of the side quests that time.

But you know what I think is the worst about all of my games? I can't be a bad guy! In all of the games I have played through, I've never been the one to kill everyone in sight. I just can't bring myself to do it. I can't even say something mean to someone.

The other day, I was looking through my trophies and i noticed I had some unlocked, but not acomplished, so I could tell what the trophies were. Well, all the ones I had acomplished were the good things. Not where you kill everyone. So...now i have to go back and make a new, mean character to unlock all the other things. But I don't think I'll be able to that cruel when the time comes to do it. Huh...I guess I'll have to close my eyes when I do it. For some reason, that helps... :)

Hey I just remembered something! You guys probably already heard these songs, but I just thought they were awesomely awesome, so...here you go! :)

Cool then~ :'D <3<3
I might play today if I finish what I want to do quickly. It's not much today since I got a HUGE weight off my shoulders thanks to awesome people, so yes. If the day goes well, I shall have some ample time for Dragon Age~! xDD;; <3<3

And I can't make the bad choices either! :x So I know what you mean. ^^;; The farthest I can get to being "bad" is being greedy, and already that feels weird. xDD;; I'm lucky though that I don't have to think about that, since my brother and I have an agreement that he completes all the "bad" trophies while I complete the good ones. He's playing MUCH faster than me though (he's the more avid gamer than me, I'm just a casual one, I guess XP), lolz. xDD;;

Wow Mizayo, six times?! I salute you!
I started out trying to be bad, but that cornball Alistair seduced me and I turned into a goody two shoes. I want to play through it again as a male thief who is self-centered lout, but I think if I have to do the dwarves again I might throw myself out a window. I can't wait for this x pack though!

I don't know if I should go for Alistair or Zevran, actually (obviously I'm playing a female character now xDD). But, yeah, I know my brother originally wanted to be good and pick Leilana in the process, but he went for Morrigan instead and now he's a bad and money-grubbing man~ XP

@BellyButton--Heehee, thanks! I've played it so much that now I just create a character, play through the origin, then start a new one. It just takes too long to go through Ostagar and the Orzammar Deep Roads for me. Too many things put together.
And that is exactly what happens to me all the time. I go and start a new game and plan on going for someone else, but somehow I'm just drawn to Alistair. I got lucky when I finally got Zevran, man. I was on the brink of breaking. :P

@Rylynne--If you were to ask me who to go after next, I really could not tell you. Zevran is cool and all sneaky-like (which is freakin' awesome in my opinion), and he has a strange past to uncover (not going to give anything away). But Alistair, on the other hand, is handsome, charming, and--this is what gets me every time--awkward and unexperienced. Once you get going, it's rather funny to watch him fidget and stumle over his words. Lol, ;)[/B]

Actually, to get the other trophies, I have to get Leilana and Alistair. xDD;; My brother's character got it together with Zevran (was a funny scene, lulz xDD). We're about 60+% complete for the trophies, so we're doing good progress. =) Although, because of Mene's event and my hell week being this week, I have not touched the game in... two weeks? Lulz. xDD;;

I have 71 out of 88 trophies. Mostly the ones I'm missing are the boards. Like the Chanter's, the Irregulars, the Mages, ect. Those and also the endings (not going to say what they are...) but I've gotten two and I need two more.

And a quick question for those who have played Mass Effect:

Not to get off topic, I just want to ask a quick question. Is Mass Effect anything like Dragon Age: Origins? I was just curious 'cause I was thinking of playing it while I waited for the Awakening expantion. When I say is it any thing like it, I mean can you make choices that will effect the end? Can you do romances? Stuff like that.

Hehe, I came on here planning to gush about how I can't wait for Awakening to come out and instead I get to gush about my uber leet Mass Effect knowledge. ^_^

Everything you do in ME1 has some sort of effect in ME2. Most of the results of the smaller side quests are not all that huge when it comes to the ME2 plot but there usually ends up being some sort of "sweet" reaction in it. I figure that they are really waiting it kick it up in ME3 and have huge consequences from the first 2 games.

As for the romances, you don't have to have any if you do not want to... it's something that you actually have to work at to achieve(unlike Morrigan in DA:O who pretty much jumps you if you get her happiness high enough and have the daddy parts *wink*). In ME1 there is two different choices for your Shepard(weather you are playing a male or female Shep there is still two choices; female Shep can chose to be with a human male crew mate or have a "lesbianic interaction" with an alien, and male Shep has the choice of the same alien and a human female crew mate). In ME2 you have a choice to stay faithful to your romantic choice from ME1(if they survived) or you can go after one of the many new romantic choices(8 in all, 2 of which are bi-sexual *wink*)

Inny-hoo... In my opinion, both ME1 and ME2 are amazing games and if you love DA:O as much as you say you do, then they will not disappoint. Bioware has really stepped up its game with these releases, and so far they have yet to really disappoint their fan base.

i used the star fang and roses thorn.
wade superior dragonscale armor(medium).
and various rings and such it worked well against pretty much all enemies.

Thank you so much! That really does help with stuff. I have one tiny question left. Who is the human male romance option? I heard it is Kaidan, but I wasn't sure.

@shea the anti-venom

My first character I played all the way through was a warrior City Elf. She specialized in Templar and Champion. My weapons were mainly just duel weapons. It's been so long since I've played that character that I forgot what they were called. Since it was my first time playing an RPG--or really anything near as complex--I didn't really pay attention to the accesories or special qualities to the weapons. I figured out how to use the extra stuff near the end of the game :) .

Yes, actually, I have just recently figured out how to the DLCs. So far I've gotten Return to Ostagar, The Stone Prisoner, and Warden's Keep. Oh, and tons of mods from Choose Language | BioWare Social Network .

And now I've downloaded the toolset and am... well, still figuring it out. lol :P

@Mizayo: Yuppers, it's Kaiden, the original Alistair... he just makes you go all dow-eyed... "Yes, Ma'am" ...teehe *blushes* Anyways, in the second game its really hard to "stay faithful" to him when you have three other dudes that you can get ...intimate... with. And if you're like me, you'll have a hard time saying no to Thane and his sad past/present/future or Archangel who is awkward with the whole alien/human thing but is also sweet and you feel like you can trust your Shep's heart(and other bit and pieces *wink*) to him. ...sigh...

@shea the anti-venom: First time through I had a female human warrior that went after Alistair and used the Juggernaut armor; I believe she was a champion/templar sward and shield focused. My second run was a female dalish rogue that went after Zevran and duel weld thorns while using the wade's superior dragonskin armor; she was duelist/assassin speced.
So far I have gotten all of the DLC and really, REALLY cant wait for the 16th <3<3<3

Cool. I like the shy and awkward types. They're just too darn cute. lol ;)
That's why Alistair is always my love. I'm acctually kind of
scared that he won't be a major part of the next expansion
pack. I've seen many of the trailors and even the ones with
the "new" party members. I'm hoping that if I import a
character, then I'll get to keep him in the party. But I know
it's too much to hope for.

I think you should be able to... Well, yeah, they are giving us the ability to have a totally new party, but if it's soon enough after the "end" of the game then maybe we can still recruit at the very least some of our old travel mates(with the exception of Morrigan and any others who may have died/walked out by the end of the run).

I hope so. :(

OMG, my excitement for the Awakening dropped from 110% to 75%. I was just browsing through the FAQ on DragonAge.com, and I saw a question asking if romances from the original Origins games would be transferred to Awakening. The guy answering said that there would be no old or new romances because the game is centered on the problem at hand! I thought, "Well, then the blight and a new Archdemon was a small enough problem to add relationships but some smart darkspawn and the Architect is huge enough to knock out my second favorite part of the Dargon Age?"Don't get me wrong, I'll still play it, but I really was hoping for better... :|
