That's why some of the more well off members have charities just for the newbies.

Gaia used to be the same way back in 2001-2003.

Oh yeah, if you go to the main forum overview, near the "Menewshan Exchange" there is a board called "Charities" and there are several ones just for newbies. They have their own posting stipulations and such but they'll give you a free starter outfit of some sort.

I hated starting out too. But I was lucky and there had been some crazy reason which I can't remember which landed me with some free gold from the site. Of course I immediately ran for clothes. (Which I'm pretty much still wearing. I need to post more.) I'm sure you'll gather together the gold for all the awesome stuff on here. Or go with what hayzel's saying. I'm sure the charities will happily help you. :D
