What do you guys and girls think of Apple's new invention? If you haven't heard of the Apple iPad yet, look it up on YouTube. Steve Jobs gives a demo of it, and it looks amazingly cool!

Three words:
No.
multi.
tasking.
Actually, throw a hyphen in there, and that's two words, but the sentiment is the same.
Also: No flash

My dear Menewshans, I would like to point out one article that I read on one of my favorite websites.
Top 10 Reasons the iPad could fail.
And I pretty much agree with the whole thing.
$500 for a larger iTouch? Pfffffffffffffffffffft.

I think Apple flopped with this one. No reason to pay that kind of money for a big Itouch. I love my Nano but I wouldnt even consider an IPad. Sorry Apple.

They tried to mix a tablet PC with the iTouch and it just failed horribly.
What I think Apple should do is make a product that looks similar to the iPad, but has all the capabilities of a tablet PC.
THAT, would be incredibly impressive.

Honestly, terrribly disappointed.
I've been looking at a tablet netbook, which has just as good as specs or better, has a detachable keyboard and touch screen. In a netbook, and not an iPad.
First off, the price is ridiculous for what it does, which is basically nothing more than my iPhone, yet larger. Second off, I'd most likely have to pay for a second 3g subscription that I already pay for now, so I do not want to pay another 30 euros a month.
A lot of computer makers have realised this, and there has been a flood of touch pads reaching the market, all with beatable pricing and specs. It's just the iPod all over again, selling because of the name.
The iPhone was a real innovation though.

Totally agreed. It could have been so awesome, but they ruined it.

Agreed.
When I first heard about it, I was hoping a tablet computer, not an over-sized iPhone. Until they come out with a real tablet, I can be more than content with my desktop and laptop. <ohwoeisme>
Also, the name is just awful. iPad? Really? It's so easy to confuse with iPod, never mind the menstrual connotations.
