I normally only read manga, but there are some really good fiction books. Like Frank Beddor's "The Looking Glass Wars". It's a spinoff of Alice in Wonderland :P

I have never been much of a fan of Alice in Wonderland.
The original story was very strange.

I wasn't either, but Frank Beddor makes it sound like the Alice in Wonderland we know is a lie, the twisted truth of the actual story. The Looking Glass Wars is an action sci-fi book. Lots of battles and stuff :P

It does sound more like fantasy than science fiction.

Well, yeah. There's definitely fiction. But Alyss (not Alice) does some kind of dimensional jump and ends up in our world and so do the monsters and bad guys from Wonderland :D

I know what Tobacco is.
When you said "stoned" I thought you meant people threw rocks at him, which is also being "stoned".

Well, that would explain all of the drug reference in the book. The hookah-smoking catapillar and everything...but the really creepy thing was his infatuation with "Alice"...his friend's kid daughter...

There was a time when young girls married middle aged men.
But I'm thinking of "Little House on the Prairie" time.

People used to marry their relatives too cause they thought it strengthened the blood line when it really didn't.

It ended up causing heredity problems, right? Like...the English and stuff...with nobles. I can see their way of thinking but...ugh...

Aw, man. I gotta go. Bye-bye!!! *waves dramatically*

Of course, I was 8 years old at the time.
