Walking into the local Soda Shoppe, and looking around. Thinking, 'And I'm too young to go into the Pub...'

"I'm looking for a man name, Wince." I say in a Sharp voice. Not at all what I used to sound like. Time can be cruel to those who, were "soft".

A waitress that looks like she belongs on a runway, not in this small town, looks me up and down and asks, "Who's askin'?"

A wisend old man at the counter had looked up when I made my annoucement, so I ignored the teenie, and I made my way over.

"I heard you had some info. Is this true?" I ask. I don't dare get my hopes up again. I can't get worked up, incase it's nothing. ....like the last twelve times.

"Sure'n as the grass is green, girlie" He weezes.

I hate being called "girlie". Never have and never will. But ignore it. I was raised in the Midwest before it happened. the whole Midwest was our "territory". I knew he didn't know any better anyways.

"Whell?" I said rather impatiently. I have been on this Hunt for just over a year now....

((I hope you don't mind if I roleplay in the Third Person. I've never liked Thread Roleplaying in the First Person. Though, I won't stop you from doing it if you want.))

As the train came to a stop, Hideo stood, looking around. It was almost empty, save for a single old gentlemen and his two, Hideo assumed, Grandchildren. As Hideo stood, he reached under is seat and pulled his bag up with him. The Dufflebag carried everything he owned, since he had left his home, his mother, and his sister back in Tokyo.

Departing from the train, he looked up and down the platform with a frown. Small towns were to quiet for him, but he would make do. He had heard of a demon harrassing the towns around here, and this was the only of the small towns the train stopped at, so he would start here.

When he reached the street at the bottom of the station steps, he turned and headed towards the nearest Dinner, looking to get some food, and maybe some information.

((I acutally right what i call "no-person". but it's not apropreate here, so... I have a hard time doing third person when refering to my main Character. I can do okay, with the others I play as for story perposes, depending on how we're writing))

The old man's been siting there for 30 mins, just staring into his empty glass. After about five minutes I just quit listening to his breathing. Instead I focused on my meditation. Finally I deside to look up, and he's slumped over. The man was dead! Grinding my teeth to keep from cussing, I call over the Manager who was standing at the front counter.

"What is it miss?" He askes me in a slow type draw. We don't have all day!

"How long has this man been dead?" I'm getting anxious. This is the third time this week! Everytime I think that I've found someone who can help me......

"What man, miss? You've been sitting there by yourself since you came in" He looks at me like I've lost it. I know I haven't. It just means that I mistook a Spirit for a Human again.......

((I think I'll give first person another chance, mostly because now that you're doing it I can only think in first person :XD))

As I enter the dinner, I notice a few things off. The Waitress in the corner, who looked like she worked the tables as a side job from jumping out of cakes, the creepy girl at the counter with too many piercings, and the dead guy she seemed to be talking to.

I sighed, shaking my head, and went to sit at the table behind the stool she was sitting on. Opening a menu, I pretended to read it, and ignored the looks I was sure to get, while I listened in on what the girl was talking to the manager for.

((:P. Is it easier or harder now?))

I noticed the guy that walked in just as I was calling out to the manager. I know he noticed me. He was strong. And his power was once dormant. He was like me... In a sence. He was a Hunter.

"Nevermind. I must've had a nightmare again...." Turning away from the Manager I say my same excuse. The one that I was taught to say since the first time this happened.

"Whell no wonder you was sleeping at the counter. You must be tired." And he dismissed it. Just like everyone else. "You should see someone about that." He thinks he's being helpful. Little does he know. I can't.

"I am." I lie. I hate it. But that's the only way to servive......

((It's about the same. Do you mind if I ask what Web Browser you're using? Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc.))

I glance over my shoulder as she brushes off what happened to the manager. I smile to myself, wondering if she'll leave, or join me, as I motion to the waitress. "Excuse me, can I get something to drink?"

As I wait for her to come over, I look in the direction of the mysterious woman, and smile, motioning with my head towards the seat across from me.

((Explorer... why?))

I look at the man that just motioned me over to his table. I had already noticed his power levels. I was unsure about wheter or not he was "alive" or a Spirit.

The waitress came over to take his order, and I decided that he was obviously alive. She was so "dull" that she wouldn't be able to see him if he weren't.

I waited and watched, as she flirted with him. I waited til she brought his drink. I wanted to make sure that he had good intentions before I sat down.....

((You should try downloading the Spellchecker plug-in. It's helped me a lot :D))

He smiled as the waitress came over. "I'll have a Dr. Pepper, if you don't mind. I can't stand Coffee. Also, um," He regarded the menu a moment, "I'll have a Grilled Cheese Sandwich, if you don't mind." When she left, he looked back at her until the waitress returned with his drink, which he drank from before setting it down and sitting back in his chair, waiting.

((I can't I'm at the library. I wish I could though. Some words are hard to remember :XP ))

I couldn't take it. He was stretching my already frail patience. I called up to the Manager, "Give me a Barques!" And I waited for him to slowly walk it down to me. 'after five thousand years!' I thought as he slowly walked away.

I walked over and sat down at the stranger's table. "What do you want?" I demanded. It was annoying. I could tell that he wanted to talk to me. Maybe he was "Wince". I looked him over. Nope he couldn't be. At the very least the waitress knew Wince. She didn't know this man. Though she shamlessly flirted with him.....

((Awww, dang. I know, that's why I have to use it :XD))

I smiled as she came over, but quickly hid my smile behind my drink as I took another sip. When I set it down, my face was back to a neutral expression. "I was just noticing the.... lively company you were keeping when I walked in." I turned my eyes to the spirit behind the counter, then back at her.

I lowered my voice, leaning forward. "Are you, by chance, a Hunter?"

((I was wondering what your username means. If it's not too personal?))

I tryed not to be surprised. Father had told me that there were others out there. But I never expected that there could be one from another contry...

"Where I'm from, sir, it's polite to introduce yourself before you ask such things" I stated trying to hold down my amusment. I'd play with him abit and get as much info as I could. "So who are you? And why are you here? What do you want?"

Besides, maybe I would be getting some info after all......

((It's the name of my "production Company", or in otherwords anything I make myself is by "Inyashino Productions". As for what Inyashino actually is, I just sort of came up with it when I was thinking of the word InuYasha. :D))

I blinked, surprised, the nodded. "That's fair, of course. It is something of a personal subject, I couldn't expect you to tell it to a random stranger. You'll have to forgive me, I'm new to this Hunting work." He leaned in slightly, lowering his voice. "My name is Hideo Kobayashi, and I am looking for a Demon Hunter. As for what I want, it is complicated, and not something I would like to discuss while there are unwanted ears about." I lean back, looking around to make sure no one was listening in.

((Ah. okay.))

I stared. 'Ok. Japanese. I thought I reconized the accent.' I used to watch Anime in my spare time. Between trainings. And of course he would be new. As I had felt that his powers were dormant til almost recently.

But what, and I couldn't understand this, was he doing in a small town in the middle of 'Nowhere' USA? In what was once my "territory", of all places? Even if he was looking for someone, it still didn't make sence.

"Can I ask who it is you're looking for? I may've heard of him?" Most Hunters believe that the only reason that there are woman in a Family, or Clan, is to procreate. That's not true. Not in some cases. "I could point ya in the right direction." Not that I really wanted to. From what little I have found out. I would need some help. He was strong enough. Maybe it wasn't really the old man, Wince, that He sent me to find........

I shook my head, frowning. "I'm not looking for any one hunter in particular. Just someone who's been doing this a long time. Someone who can answer some questions." He looked up as the waitress came over with his sandwich, and smiled at her. "Thank you." I waited till she was done flirting and left before I turned back to this other girl. "Well, I have answered your question. Will you answer a few of mine? Perhaps you will give me a name, at least?" I sat back, picking up my drink and sipped it, wondering if she would help me.

((Do you actually believe that things like Angels, Demons, and Spirits exist?))

I owed him that much. "Zephyna Flare." Short and to the point. My Mother had named me after my Elements. "And yes. I'm a Hunter."

I don't know how Hunters look elsewhere, but here I'm almost normal. I grinned at him. One of my old ones. That I used to do. Big, Cheerful and Toothy. Holding up my left hand in a Piece sign, and my right in a fist at chest height, I said, "Not what you were expecting, hyuh?".........

((Maybe. Angel's and Demons, at least, though I don't know how accurately they are portrayed by the media. As for spirits, I'm not sure about them, but it's hard to explain away some of the stuff you hear about, you know?))

I smiled slightly, and nodded my head. "Not at all. Still, I am glad we met. So, would you be willing to answer some question about, well, Hunters, somewhere a little more private? This kind of place is perfect for eavesdroppers." I picked up my sandwich. "If you have something to do, I can wait here till it's done. I've got this sandwich, after all." Biting into it, I smiled to myself. Mother had always made it for me and my sister as a snack, and had always put Ham in the cheese. It seemed that was not as common as I had hoped in the States.

((Yeah I know. What do you think about Magick, and Parapsychoanalists?))

"No. I don't. But I can wait til you're done." I silently gritted my teeth. 'Oh man! I better not cry again. Not now. I'm just tired. Not really sad. It's been three years. I can't keep grieving. I need to move on.'

"You need to be able to find me." Besides. It's dark out. And I'm not going out, in this kinda dark. It's the kinda dark that was there when the 'mist' took my Family. So I talk to keep the fear away. "Is there anything that you want to ask me that can be said here?" Might as whell help as much as I can.......

((That, not so much. As the friend of a Magician, I know that at least a lot of the "magic" is slight of hand and illusion. Is there real magic out there, I don't know, but I haven't seen it))

I nodded, putting down the sandwich. "Well, lets start general. How long have you been doing this?" I hoped she didn't find that too personal a question right off, but I figured it would help me establish a level of expertise. I looked out onto the street, realizing now how late it had gotten, it was already dark outside.

((I'm just trying to figure out why you chose to do this..... :) ))

I notice his furtive glance outside. "It's not that dark really. It's spring. It won't be dark til about seven-thirty. I know. I've lived in this part of the country my whole life. Leaving only when we need to go to help other Clans. I've been in the
'bussiness', since I was born. I was named for it, I was raised in it, and I only quit for about a year and eight months before I came back to it." At the last point, I choked again. 'I guess I'm not as strong, or as ready to return as I wanted to believe'

"What about you?" I might as whell know how much I need to teach the guy... I mean Hideo.... I should remember his name anyways, just incase.........

((Cause it sounded fun :D))

I looked back at her, surprised. 'All her life! Now, that's something.' I averted my eyes at seeing her get chocked up, and decided not to ask why. Instead, I focused on her question. "Well, I started about a year ago. My father and a Demon Hunter were both killed on the job. My father was a policeman in Tokyo, and he was killed by a demon he thought was just a murderer." I closed my eyes, trying to keep my self collected as I spoke, my voice low to avoid drawing attention. "A hunter in the area tried to save him, but was mortally wounded in the fight. Before he died, he did.... something, to me, and now I have strange powers. He also passed on the knowledge of how to use it somehow, in those few minutes before he died. I didn't want to stay in Japan, and I knew the man was from the states, so I came here to search for more people like him....." I looked up at her, "to teach me how to be a Demon Hunter."

I was right. He was new. Newer then I would've guessed, but still. "I'm sorry about your father." I truely was. I know. I know all about what it's like, to loose loved ones. We're taught not to get close, but even though we're different, we're still Humans.

I'm not telling him anything unless he needs to know about it. That's the first thing I'm going to follow. He doesn't need to know about my life unless it's important to our jobs. But I cant keep everything from him...

"What's your favorite time of day? What's your favorite time of year? What do you feel when you're near alot of Earth? Wind? Fire? Water? When it's the oppisit of your favorite times of day and year, how do you feel? I need you to answer these truthfully." I lean fowards, and smirk at Hideo, "And trust me, I can tell if you're lieing".........

(( o.O ))

I blinked, surprised. "Well, lets see..." I tilted my head back, thinking. I had no reason to lie about these things to her, so I decided to go with the truth. "Well, I love the Springtime, and in Fall I'm usually really tired all the time, even when I get a lot of sleep." I tapped my chin in thought. "I've never really been near a lot of Fire, but I love windy days, if that's what you mean. I guess I like the Night, since I'm kind of a night person, though I don't mind the day either... If I had to pick a 'Favorite' time of day, I'd have to say early evening, just after the sun sets." I looked back to her, interested. "Why, what's this about, and do I need to answer any of those more specifically?" I wasn't sure if I'd done them right, or not, but I figured she'd tell me if I needed to re-answer one of them.

((I'm just joking around.... I'm actually kinda bored. I havent heard much news about my boyfriend since he went on vacation, so..... I'm supposed to hear something today atleast.))

"Hmmn." This is confusing. I usually get readings on some element when I ask the standered questions. "Ok. Ya know what, we'll come back to that... I'm going to summon a Familiar and I want you to tell me if you see it and what it looks like. And tell me anything it does. And Rule number two is, 'Always tell me in full detail.' Ok? Ready... and Go!" I summoned up, a little, white fluffy kitten, with big blue eyes. And she immediately, started to give herself a bath. I smiled. Hideo couldn't posibly be able to see this. Unless his magick is all Mind Magick. "Whell? What do you see?"........

((I See, well, I hope you hear from him soon. I'm assuming that since all his Magic ISN'T mind Magic, his not being able to see it in my post is correct?))

I blinked, looking around. "Um, are you sure you did it right?" I looked around, incase it had appeared nearby and I just hadn't spotted it yet. I picked up my sandwich as I looked around, and ate some more of it.
