I haven't been sleeping well this past week and all the usual things haven't worked too well. I was always told to sleep at the foot of the bed and you should have no problem going to sleep. Thinking makes your mind work and tires you out so I usually think about a lot before I go to sleep. At times music or back ground noise helps but most often then not it doesn't.

I usually end up drinking hot chocolate or warm milk before I go to bed. It really helps me fall asleep quicker.
Playing an online game or reading a book in bed would also help.
And for the insomniac, there's always a melatonin supplement (sold in any grocery store), although not FDA approved, in low doses, this supplement apparently works wonders on any individual who suffer from a sleeping disorder. I haven't found a negative scientific journal article about this drug. But I still would restrain from using it unless you haven't slept in weeks.

When I want to go to sleep, I need to be in a quiet place - I can't sleep if there is any noise that I can hear. I also need to think of something nice, so I have nice dreams. When I do both of this, I can usually go to sleep quite easily.

I leave my TV running with the timer on so it'll shut off after two and a half hours go by. It somehow helps me fall asleep.

Usually the previous day is enough to make me fall asleep. If I don't fall asleep I usually do something until I get tired.

Believe it or not, crying often helps me sleep.
I don't know what it is about crying that helps me to sleep...it just does...
...either that or I crawl up into a ball and listen to music...that always seems to work...
...the weird thing is that I listen to Hardcore music...
...so, Hardcore lullabies!

I usually throw on a movie. I usually go with a movie that isn't too good, puts me to sleep faster. XD

Taking a bath helps me relax. Reading a book is always helpful, as is listening to my iPod. I even have a Bedtime playlist made up in case I want to listen to it. I've fallen asleep with my headphones on before, so that definitely works. Lately I haven't been sleeping very well (but that's probably due to the fact that I just moved out of my parents' and I'm living at my Dad's, so stress-related), and a friend of mine suggested that I try taking Melatonin. I may give that a try...haven't had a full night's sleep in AGES...

I need comfy blankets and warmth. If my mind is super hectic and I'm thinking of like a million things at once, I usually make myself relax and think of like the ocean or something. Some place soothing. It works like a charm. C:

It always takes a long time for me to fall asleep...i usually end up thinking of a lot of stuff, and only when i go through everything that comes to mind then i can sleep.

Noise,
if I don't have anything on, my brain starts talking and it keeps me awake.
So listening to the Radio or TV cancels out the crazies.

Our local Hy-Vee has a specialty blend of tea called dream easy tea. It knocks me out about as good as NyQuil does when I'm sick. I don't know what all they have in it, but it's a magical concoction.

The cold really knocks me out so I turn on my two fans but the sound they make also helps lull me to sleep. If that doesn't work I talk myself to sleep.

Watch the first Lord of The Rings film, it does it for me evertime. I'm not saying that the movie is bad but it is the most dialogue intensive of the triligy and watching it while lying down in bed always puts me out.

Thinking about something until I fall asleep, or just stay up for a day and sleep the next night.

I read until I fall asleep...Either that or I take a hot bath. That usually helps me calm down...
